Water pollution is caused by the garbages

and other foreign objects that pollute the
What is the effect of pollution? water.

Probably, living things in the river cannot

breathe and could have died.

The contaminants from the water might bring

pollution to air that could inhaled by people
and will lead them to acquire disease.

do is that you need to form parts of the picture into whole
and then arrange the words to sentence. You are given 2
minutes to do task. Are you all ready?

Yes Sir!
Good. So, start when you’re ready.
Dynamite fishing and cyanide fishing destroy
marine resources.

(Teacher as facilitator) The air is so polluted that there are many

people succumbing to respiratory diseases
like asthma.

Oil spills and toxic waste pollute the seas so

the fish are dying.
A very long summer may cause the pond to
dry up and cause organisms such as tadpoles,
fish and water plants to die.

Rapid population growth can result to food

and water shortage, housing and health
problems.
Amazing job pupils! Congratulations. Shall we give a hand
to ourselves.

Now, let us analyze the given sentences.

In the first sentence, what is the cause? What is

the effect? Can you write them on the board separating
cause and effect?

(The teacher will ask the same to the next four

statements)
1. Dynamite fishing and cyanide fishing
destroy marine resources.

Very Good pupils! health problem.

As pupils, how can you help preserve our

environment?

I think it is our responsibility to clean our own

waste so that we could protect our nature
even in a little way. We must teach others
also especially our friends to spread the
negative effects of not taking good care of
our environment.
Now, listen carefully.

2. Abstraction (Generalization)

Cause is the reason while effect is the result. Everybody

read the statement loudly.
Group 1
Cause is the reason while effect is the result
Group 2
Cause is the reason while effect is the result
Group 3
Cause is the reason while effect is the result
Group 4
Cause is the reason while effect is the result
Group 5
Cause is the reason while effect is the result
Very Good!

When we say reason, it is a statement or fact that

explains something is the way it is, why someone does,
thinks, or says something, or why someone behaves a
certain way.

On the other hand, when we say effect, it is a

change that result when something is done or happens.

Let us always remember that for every cause, there is

always resulting effect. Right children?
Yes sir!

Now, I will divide you into 4 groups.

Each group will be given a task that will intensify

your understanding about our lesson this morning. You are
given 5 minutes to complete the task.

phenomenon or bad event that shows the
relationship of cause and effect.

stanza focusing on the preservation of
environment. Apply cause and effect

pupils in Grade 1 class for the last 3 years. Do
this in Graph form. Identify its cause and
effect by the help of the grade 1 teacher.

Group 4: Make a trip outside the school and

identify the areas that are changed. Take a
picture on it, bring it to the class, and explain
the cause or reason.

Time is up! So I will give each group to present their
