puis « Maintenance Assistant »

The Maintenance Assistant is only available for Oracle users. It allows you to change your Knowledge Base
configuration following one of the following server changes:
 change of instance name
 un-installation of a previous version of CAST products
 change in instance location
 upgrade to the RDBMS

To use the Maintenance Assistant:

 Click the Maintenance Assistant button in the Instance Configuration section of the Instance
Administration dialog box.
 The initial screen will then be launched:
cliquer sur « Detect Real Server Name »  CQCUSER
ou saisir le nom de la nouvelle instance de base de données
 The name of your server that is currently registered in the Knowledge Base is displayed in read-only
format in the lowermost field.
 If your new server name is different to this, please enter it in the text field.
 If you are unsure of the actual name, use the Detect Real Server Name button - you may be asked to
input a username and password.
 If you are satisfied with the new server name, click Next to continue with the process.
 If the Maintenance Assistant is able to reconfigure the Knowledge Base with the new server name, a
message will be displayed informing you of the successful completion.

Notes
 Please make sure you input the correct server name. If you do not your Knowledge Base may become
unusable.
 Please also make sure you Update the CAST System Views immediately following the use of the
Maintenance Assistant.

The Server/Instance Administration dialog box lists all servers/instances that are registered in the Knowledge
Base, whether via the use of synchronization, light import or through manual registration.
For each registered server/instance, you can:
 view the name that the server/instance has been registered with in the Knowledge Base
 un-register a server/instance if required
 view the connection profiles that connect to the server/instance and add more if required
 view the databases/schemas stored on the server/instance that have been registered in the
Knowledge Base
 create instance aliases (Oracle instances only)
Notes
 Please note that this dialog box is known as the Instance Administration dialog box on Oracle
servers and as the Server Administration dialog box on SQL-Server/Sybase/IBM-DB2 servers.
To launch the Server/Instance Administration dialog box:
1. Click Tools > Server Administration located on the menu bar (SQL-Server/Sybase/IBM-DB2 users)
or click Tools > Instance Administration (Oracle users)
The Server/Instance Administration dialog box contains one main section with various options that will be
available/unavailable depending on the items selected in the main display section.
The top level items in the main display area indicate the names of the servers/instances that are currently
registered in your Knowledge Base. See below for more information about the sub items and options.
