We invite submissions for participation in the conference organized by Institute of Social Welfare at Vytautas Magnus
University, Lithuania, on Family in Transition. As a research and study field, family studies have flourished, because
scholars and practitioners have recognized the importance of sharing between traditional academic disciplines and have
resisted the understanding that there exists one universal explanation of families in all its processes. Therefore ‘Family

varied demographic and institutional circumstances, social changes and daily practices serve to shape the unfolding
lives and experiences of families.
English is the official language of the Conference.
Participants are encouraged to present their discourses, research and practices concerning families.
Papers may be on any topic or subject that takes families as the main theme and present discourses of families in
transition. . Examples include, but are not limited to:
Methodological issues of family research
Families in transition from the demographic, political and social changes perspectives
