CHAPTER 1
THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Statement of the Problem

The study aims to investigate the perception of teachers in deterioration of moral values of students.

Specially, the study aims to seek the following questions:

1.What are the perceived reasons of teachers in deterioration of moral values of students?

2.What are the effects of the deterioration of moral values of students?

3.What strategies do teachers employ to strengthen moral values?

Significance of the Study

The impact of deterioration of moral values is rapidly increasing.Moral values is a principle to apply to
evaluate actions of people to know if it's wrong or right to guide their lives.And It's important to educate
individuals in turbulent environment to maintain good Moral Values.

Teachers.The findings of this study will help teachers to become more aware about the struggles of their
students.At the same time it helps them to carefully discuss about Moral Values.

Students.The findings of this study will help the students to open their minds.That developing Moral
Values is very important in life.It gives them idea about having a good life and right way to face their
problem.
Parents.The study may help the parents to realize that educating their children is mor important than
just giving their material needs. It is hope that they will understand their actions in diaciplining their
child if its good or bad.

Other Researchers. The study is to aimed that the researchers will widen their knowledge about moral
values.This will help them to know the reasons and effects of behavior of every individual.And think a
better solution in Deterioration Moral Values.

Scope and Delimitation

The study is focused and limited only on the perception of teachers in the deterioration of moral values
of students.

Some Junior High School teachers from Grade 7-10 at Sanchez Mira School of Arts and Trades are used
as respondents of this study.

It will determine the perceived reasons of teachers in the deterioration of moral values of students.

It will determine the effects of deterioratuon of moral values of students.

It will also determine the strategies do teachers employ to strengthen moral values.

Definition of Terms

Thw following terms are operationally defined to avoid confusion and It's being classification of the
study.

Perception refers to the insight or perceptions of teachers in deterioration of moral values.

Moral Values refers to the attitude or behaviors of students.

Deterioration refers to the worsening of behavior of students.
