SUBJECT : Advisory on Sangguniang Kabataan attendance to the 6th Parish

Youth Assembly

Pursuant to Republic Act No. 10742 also known as the Sangguniang Kabataan
Reform Act of 2015 provides under Section 8 one of the functions of Sangguniang
Kabataan is to initiate and implement, in coordination with any national
government agency and/or any private or nongovernment institution, programs,
projects designed to promote general welfare, development and empowerment
of the youth. Thus, it is one of our responsibility to actively participate on the
programs that may help us to establish adequate, effective, responsive and
enabling mechanisms and support systems that will ensure the meaningful
participation of the youth in local governance and nation-building.

The Parish Youth Council of Larena, a non-stock, non-profit organization formed

by the active young leaders of Larena in coordination with the Commission on
Youth-Diocese of Dumaguete, Local Government Unit of Larena, Siquijor State
College, DPWH-SEDO and PIA Siquijor will once again hold its SIXTH PARISH YOUTH
ASSEMBLY on 25-27 October 2019 at the Saint Vincent Ferrer Parish Marian Hall
with the theme: “LARENIAN YOUTH IN MISSION: BELOVED. GIFTED. EMPOWERED.”

The primary goal of this three-day assembly aims to equip youth and community
leaders with skills and Christ-centered values to make their journey more
meaningful and dynamic through adopting spiritual approaches. It is also
anchored to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals which promotes
for sustainability and innovative solutions of the pressing issues we are facing now
in our beloved country and in the global arena. It further aims to influence youth
and community leaders to think, work, and act together with the use of specific
and term based exercises to give the Kalakbays the exciting experience of
learning by doing and learning while having fun. It feature activities such as the
Youth Matters: A series of plenary talks, Ice Breakers, Tribu Outdoor Challenge,
Cultural and Gawad Night, Spiritual Fellowships, PAYA Pasundayag 2019, Praise
and Worship and many more.

In lieu thereof, all the twenty three (23) Sangguniang Kabataan Chairperson of
the Municipality of Larena are encouraged to attend the aforementioned three
days assembly without prejudice to their right to practice their one’s religion. The
said assembly will equip them practical knowledge and developing the skills
necessary in order for them to effectively spearhead or participate in initiatives
gearing towards the realization of the goals. A registration fee per head is at Php
150 with the inclusion of food and training kits. Su

The travelling and other incidental expenses shall be chargeable to the

Sangguniang Barangay Funds, subject to the availability of funds thereof and the
usual government accounting, budgeting and auditing rules and regulations.

The Parish Youth Council of Larena shall shoulder the following:

a) Food. Provision of meals and snacks shall start afternoon of October 25,
2019 until afternoon of October 27, 2019;
b) Accommodation. Participants will be billeted in the rooms of St. Vincent
Academy. Check-in will be on (Friday) October 25, 2019. Check out shall
be not later than (Sunday), October 27, 2019.

Further, the Parish Youth Council of Larena will not cover any expenses which are
not stipulated in this Advisory.

To the fullest extent permitted by the applicable laws, the DILG Province of Siquijor
and SKPF, its officers and personnel, exclude and disclaim any liability for loss of
life, injury, other loses and expenses of whatever nature arising in connection with
this advisory.
