Anant Koppar is a technocrat businessman from Karnataka, India.

He was the Founder


President of Kshema Technologies, one of India's first venture capital funded software
services companies. He has currently started a new company called KTwo Technology
Solutions, an Indian Origin Global Products company that develops products for
Healthcare and Automotive sectors. Earlier he was the President of the Technologies
Division of MphasiS post the acquisition of Kshema by MphasiS.

Hailing from Gadag, North Karnataka, he is one of the success stories and a role model
for people coming from rural middle class backgrounds for corporate success.

With a Masters Degree in Computer Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, he started his
career in Wipro. He also had brief stint as a lecturer in an engineering college. He further
went on to be a part of the teams that set up Tata Elxsi and BFL Software now known as
MphasiS BFL Limited.

Anant founded Kshema Technologies in 1997 and grew it to large niche technology
services provider in 6 years. Kshema has the distinction of being a pioneer in the software
services industry to cater to Industrial Automation, Healthcare, Life Sciences and Mobile
Telephony industries. Kshema merged with MphasiS in 2004.

Presently Anant lives in Bangalore with his wife Mrs. Kalpana Koppar and two children.

Koppar was the first CEO in India to get this certification.

Anant Koppar was awarded the “Entrepreneur of the District” distinction by the Gadag
District Chamber of Commerce in the year 2000. He was also recognized as
“Entrepreneur Extraordinaire” at the Asian Conference for Young Entrepreneurs in 1999.
He is also an immediate past President of Bangalore Chamber of Industry

He was conferred with Karnataka Rajyotsava Award, the highest civilian award by the

Trust) and Leader of Local Industry Consortia (President BCIC).

[edit] Humanitarian Endeavours

A charitable trust called Utthana, which has the patronage of the IT community in
Bangalore, is his brainchild. Koppar takes time off his usual grind to look into the
meaningful functioning of Utthana. He assures that every contribution to Utthana reaches
the less privileged.

He has recently started an educational initiative called Uttara Vikasa


(http://www.uttaravikasa.org), a medium through which he attempts to educate the rural
students and educational communities of North Karnataka region of adapting to
globalization and fulfillment of their potential.

His wife Kalpana and he together have given a large donation to a school run by Lions
Club in his native Gadag. The school provides primary education to poor children in
Gadag District and is now named after his mother "Shrimati Sitabai Koppar Primary
School". He also contributes to take care of educational needs of many poor children in
that school.
