Trump rrr; Creenae Be it hereby made known to all by.the Utah staté Legislature: WHEREAS, the economy of the United States has grown steadily during the administration of President Donald J. Trump, stretching to the longest pertod of time without a recession since World War II. WHEREAS, the Utah economy has greatly benefited from the Trump administration’s economic policies resulting in a 3.1 percent increase in employment last year, and the third- strongest growth in personal income, up 6 percent from the third quarter of 2018. WHEREAS, tax cuts championed by President Trump, the largest package of tax cuts and reforms in our nation’s history, returned hundreds of billions of dollars to American citizens. WHEREAS, by signing the National Defense Authorization Act, President Trump allocated $738 billion to rebuild and” strengthen the United States military, as well as redesignating the Air Force Space Command as the new, sixth armed service. WHEREAS, President Trump has repealed, suspended and revised onerous federal regulations, practices and policies and signed landmark criminal justice reform legislation into law. WHEREAS, President Trump traveled to Utah to reduce the size of the Bears Ears National Monument and the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and has beenstafwart in returning greater control of public lands to Utah and neighboring western states. WHEREAS, President Trump has been tenacious in appointing Justices to the United States Supreme Court and other federal judges whose judicial philosophy is consistent with Utah values. WHEREAS, President Trump has taken important steps to secure our national borders, fought for fair and reciprocal trade agreements, and identified Jerusalem as the capital of Israel by moving the United States embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Utah State Legislature expresses appreciation and gratitude for President Trump’s many accomplishments during his first term as President of the United States. As elected representatives of Utah's citizens, we commend the President for his accomplishments.
