We stay pretty busy here at Eastmont, but I can remem-
ber when February used to be a slower month of activity
and a time to catch your breath. I can no longer say that.
Since my last Encourager article we have had a Jr/Sr Val-
entine banquet with 152 attending, youth D Now week-
end, Men’s Ministry sponsored Low Country Boil and
Women’s Ministry Church Cleaning Day among our other
regularly scheduled weekly activities.
Every one of these events would not have been possible
without the many volunteers who served. The servant
attitude of so many in this church is very evident. When
we serve we model what Jesus exhibited to us from His
Incarnation to His death on the cross. In His final hours
before His execution, He was kneeling down and washing
His disciples’ dusty, dirty feet. It was a job usually be-
fitting a slave. Even an indentured Jewish servant wasn’t
expected to do such a lowly and degrading chore. Never-
theless, the Creator of all that exists humbled Himself to
wash and dry His disciples’ feet including the one who
was about to betray Him. Jesus said, “For even the Son of
Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give
His life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45). Remember
that when we serve others we reflect Jesus in our lives.
Speaking of servants, I want to thank the 35-40 women
(including a few good men) who gave up their Saturday to
spend the day cleaning up in and around our church. They
deep cleaned windows, restrooms, the worship center
and foyer, connecting hallway, old kitchen, floors, carpet,
handrails, balcony and more. They mopped, swept, dust-
ed, polished, vacuumed, set out pine straw and trimmed
bushes among other things. Thank you to Patty Dean
(who leads our Women’s Ministry) and all the ladies who
worked so hard (along with Kent Speigner and two of our
youth, Elijah Wood and TJ McGough).
I invite all our men to be a part of our Wednesday Night
Fights Prayer group. We meet in room 205 at 10:00 pm
every Wednesday night. We pray the scriptures over our-
selves, Eastmont, the Pastor Search Committee, our na-
tion, the upcoming elections, our wives, our children as
well as our children who have wandered away from God
and for each other. We are in a spiritual fight and Satan
hates us for coming together for prayer, but if we want to
see true revival then it starts with our men in prayer!

Our Special Guest will be Phil Winningham. Covered dish
meal to follow the program.
Senior Adult Trip to Portland & Kennebunkport
Includes Harbor Cruise and a Lobster Bake. September 5-
12, 2020. 8 days and 7 nights. $900.00 per person. This
trip is now open to Eastmont members, family & friends.

SUNDAY NIGHT GROWTH TRACKS
We begin a new semester of courses Sunday, March 8.
The course offerings and sign-ups are available upstairs
outside the TimeOut room.
COMPLETE CONFERENCE
Friday and Saturday, March 6-7, Eastern Hills Baptist
Church hosts a conference for teen girls and their
leaders. Pray for our girls who will attend this event.
MONTGOMERY BISCUITS PARKING
Our student ministry once again has the opportunity to
work parking lots for the Montgomery Biscuits during
select homestands. Details and available dates will be
published very soon. Working these games allows
families to earn money toward mission trip and Super
Summer.
SUMMER MISSION TRIP
June 22-27, students will have the opportunity to
experience MFUGE at North Greenville University, South
Carolina. MFUGE is a missions camp where students
minister in a variety of ways for the week. The cost for
MFuge is $300 per person, and registration is officially
underway.
SUPER SUMMER ALABAMA
July 6-10, Samford University hosts students from across
the state for a week of in-depth study and spiritual devel-
opment. Super Summer is open to students currently in
8th - 12th grades who have shown a commitment to
leadership amongst their fellow students. Registration
opens March 1 and closes April 1. Students must register
through the church website and must complete and turn
in an application to Cleve or Karen before the deadline.
College & Career Ministry

Meets on Thursday nights at the Kim’s at 7pm. A series on
the book of Hebrews called “Fix Your Eyes.”
Mission Salt Lake City
March 7-13. Will be working with Missionary Ben Neiser
on the campus of BYU.
Secret Church
April 24 at 6pm. A time of Bible study & prayer simulating
the persecuted church. The topic is: God, Government, &
the Gospel. All Life Groups are encouraged to participate.

underway! Opportunities to serve from Choir, Tech
Team, Orchestra, Drama and many more. Contact the

Passion Play Lunch Rehearsal
This Sunday, 12-3....stay for lunch and get plugged into
this awesome opportunity for our church to share the
love of God. Childcare provided.
STUDENT CHOIR
EBC Student Choir and Bands did a fabulous job
leading our congregation in worship!!! We are blessed
with such talent and what a privilege to watch our
students give back to the Lord and serve the church!!
Student Choir meets Sundays at 4:00 in the Choir
Suite.
FOREVER YOUNG CHOIR
The Forever Young Choir meets Tuesday mornings at
9:00am in the Choir Suite.

Spring Missions Yard Sale
Will be March 22-28. Gently used, quality items can be
dropped off following the 2nd service on March 22. Pickup
is available for larger items, but must be scheduled
through Karen Bush in the church office. All proceeds will
benefit the Buckley's in South Asia.
