Business Highlights, Achievements & Information
Dear Colleagues,
We are in the last quarter of this financial year and would like to
touch upon some of the key divisional issues. Though this year,
the Indian economy is on the growth path with a growth of GDP
of 8% compared to the previous year, the actual impact on our
businesses is yet to be felt.
Our business trend shows that new orders remain on a similar
level as previous year and our order backlog has fallen from Rs
19 billion to under 17 billion in the last 3 quarters. The key
initiative in the last two quarters has been the implementation
of the sales simulation measures which has been instrumental
in portraying I IS as a "Solution House for Industry". The special
focus, of this program was on our portfolio diversification,
green and environmental friendly solutions, venturing into data
centre business, transition from conventional technologies that
emphasize on energy optimization and the responsible use of
resources, like green factories and waste heat recovery. As a
team we have put all our efforts towards aiming profitable
growth and improving our cash flow from operations, but still
we have a long way to go for achieving our final objectives.
Currently we need to focus all our efforts on two important
areas i.e. securing new orders and achieving cash greater than
profit from operations at the end of FY 2010. Against this
background, we are already in the last quarter and we need to
focus our energies in the remaining months. This is the time
where we must consolidate our strengths and leverage on our
brand's reputation. We need to be close to our customers,
understand their unique requirements, look for all possible

avenues to tap new business opportunities and aim to achieve
positive results. Simultaneously, we must strive to hone our
operational efficiencies, focus on collection of receivables and
continue with our cost management and customer focused
initiatives.
We have recently started seeing some positive responses from
the market as well from our customers. Some significant project
contracts like Vedanta Aluminium Ltd-Integral Plant
Maintenance, BALCO-LT package, JP's BoP package for Churk and
Sidhi are scheduled to be booked in this quarter. So we must
further intensify our efforts towards winning new orders to
seize the market opportunities.
Together, with your support, we can make this happen. Once

Let's briefly touch upon the
highlights of Q2 & Q3 FY 2010.....
Major Orders Received
MT Orders: MT-Metals eastern region bagged a significant
turnkey order valued at INR 813 million in June, 2010 from Steel
Authority of India Ltd for the structural mill electrical &
automation package at Durgapur Steel Plant. The entire scope
of the order includes supply of HT/LT Switchboard, Transformer,
Cables, Drives, Level 1 & 2 Automation, Cables, CCTV, Intercom
System, Illumination, erection & commissioning.
Congratulations to the team lead by Sanjoy Saha, Satish Ahire,
Sanjay Mathur, Bharat Tanna and Kabir Mohammad for this
significant effort.
MT-Metals western region bagged a significant order valued at
INR 306 million from Viraj Profiles Ltd. in April 2010 for the
section mill. The expected duration of completion of this project
is 2 years. The scope of the project includes design,
engineering, supply, erection and commissioning of electrical
drives and automation system including level 2. Congratulations
to the entire team led by Bharat Tanna, Sanjay Mathur, Anand
Thombare, Vishal Mishra, Saiprasad Shenoy, Shoaib Kazi and
Nayak Prasad for this special effort.
MT-Metals western region bagged an order from Bhushan Power
and Steel Ltd. for extension of compact hot strip mill. The project
covers Supervision of Installation, Commissioning and
Performance Guarantees of Electrical Equipments for CSP
Extension Project. The duration of completion of project is 6
months. Congratulations to R.Venkataraman, Shoaib Kazi, Akash
Joshi and team for this significant effort.
MT-Metals western region also won an order from Ispat Industries
Ltd, Dolvi for the upgradation of LF PLC panels. Congratulations
to R.Venkataraman, Shoaib Kazi, Bhushan Balpande and team for
the significant effort.
MT-Metals eastern region bagged a significant order valued at INR
132 million from Steel Authority of India Ltd for the hot rolled coil
conveyor at Bokaro Steel plant. The duration of completion of this
project is 21 months. The scope of the project comprises of HT/LT
switchboard, transformer, cables, drives, CCTV, Intercom, Level 1
and Level 2 automation, cables, erection and commissioning.
Congratulations to the Rajkumar Sinha, Nabendu Mitra, Sanjoy
Saha, Sanjay Mathur, Kabir Mohammad, Bharat Tanna and team
for this significant effort.
MT-Metals eastern region also bagged an order for revamp of
sinter plant at SAIL-Bhilai. The scopes of supply in this project are
the design, supply, installation, commissioning of electrics,
instrumentation, automation and drives. Congratulations to
Sukanta Ganguly, Avik Ghosh, Arunava Dhar, R Datta and team for
this significant effort.
SVAI Orders:
SVAI MT India bagged a significant order from Steel Authority of
India Ltd for its medium structural Mill in May, 2010. The scope of
work for this project are designing and engineering of the roll shop
equipment, supervision of erection and commissioning, hydraulic
and lubrication system for complete mill and electric & automation
including L2 automation. The total duration of completion of this
project is 28 months. This is SVAIMT's first project in SAIL DSP as
well as the first breakthrough in similar technological field in India.
Even though we have been recognized as the technology provider
globally, this is a signifiant achievement. IS MT-Metals EA will work
on the project as exclusive partner for complete electrics and
automation equipment. The new long-product rolling mill in
Durgapur will expand SAIL's production capacities for structural
steels for the home market by about one million tons per annum.
The range of products will include round and square bars, angle and
channel sections, and beams up to the maximum dimension of 300
mm. The proposed mill will reduce rolling mill costs, lower the
damage of roll neck bearings, reduce idle time and will be easier to
maintain with less manpower requirement. Congratulations to

Ashwini Khuntia and team for this phenomenal effort.
IN Orders: IN northern region bagged a significant order from
Delhi International Airport Ltd for 66kV switchyard for its
hospitality district. The expected duration of completion of this
project is 6 months. The scope of supply in this project includes
66kV GIS switchyard with power transformers. This is the first
order of GIS switchyard for IN northern region. Congratulations
to Gaurav Kumar, Asghar Raza, Sanjeev Gupta, Uphar Srivastava,
Avinder Singh, Kasiruddin and team for this effort.
IN northern region won a significant order from General Cables
for its 66kV switchyard. The scope of supply is 66kV switchyard
with supply of power transformers. The project will take 6
months for its completion. Congratulations to Gaurav Kumar,
Sanjeev Gupta, Uphar Srivastava, Avinder Singh and Reni Johnny
for this effort.
IN northern region also received a 132kV switchyard order from
Max Infrastructure. The order was bagged against stiff
competition from Areva who was the sole supplier to Max before
this order. The project is scheduled to be completed within a time
frame of 6 months. Power transformers will be also supplied in
this project along with the 132 kV switchyard. Kudos to Gaurav
Kumar, Anjay Singh, Uphar Srivastava, Avinder Singh and Renny
Johnny for this wonderful effort.
IN northern region bagged an order in the automotive sector from
Amtek Auto Ltd. for the 132kV switchyard at Bhiwadi, Rajasthan.
The duration of completion of the project is 5 months. The scope
of supply is 132kV switchyard equipments including 35 MVA
power transformers. The order was bagged against stiff
competition from ABB and Sterling & Wilson. Sanjeev Gupta,

IN northern region bagged and order from OCL Iron & Steel Ltd for
its 132 kV switchyard project at Rajganganagar, Orissa. The
duration of completion of this project is 9 months. The scope of
the project is 132kV switchyard and supply of 45 MVA generator
transformers. Congratulations to the team led by Sanjeev Gupta,
Uphar Srivastava, Gaurav Kumar, Deepak Kumar, Avinder Singh
for this effort.
IN northern region also received an order from Maruti Suzuki Ltd.
for revamping of existing 11kV substation from Maruti Suzuki Ltd.
The duration of completion of the project is 7 months. The scope
of work included the supply of HT Panels, Earthing system, cable
and cable trays, special CTs and PLC system. Congratulations to
Mohd. Irfan, Amit Gupta, Gaurav Kumar, Shouvik Sammadar,
Avinder Singh, Dhiresh Saharia and team for this significant
effort.
IN northern region also bagged an order from Kudos Chemicals
for its 66kV switchyard project at Dera Bassi, Punjab. The scope of
the supply in this project was 66kV switchyard equipment
including 5 MVA power transformers. Also won an order from
Berger Paints Ltd for its 66kV switchyard project at Jammu. This
order was distinctive as it was taken with 40% advance payment
terms. Congratulations to Sanjeev Gupta, Uphar Srivastava,
Gaurav Kumar, Radha Agarwal, Avinder Singh and team for this
significant effort.
IN northern bagged a significant order from Jaiprakash Associates
Ltd for its 132kV switchyard at 5 locations at Sidhi, Dalla, Balaji,
Satna and Rewa in the cement sector. The scope of supply includes
the complete plant electricals for 132 kV switchyard.

Kapoor, Puneet Bhagat, Dhiresh Saharia, Gaurav Kumar, Avinder
Singh and team for this significant effort.
IN northern region also bagged and order from Tata Chemicals
Ltd. for 132kV switchyard project for power export. The duration
of completion of this project is 7 months. There were budget
constraints on the customer's side but the team was able to
convince and provide optimum solutions for both re-engineering
and optimizing the scheme. Kudos to the team comprising of
Abhishek Srivastava, Gaurav Sood, Puneet Bhagat, Dhiresh
Saharia, Gaurav Kumar, Avinder Singh for this special effort.
IN northern region also bagged a significant order for DCS system
and CEMAT for KJS Cement Ltd. The duration of completion of
project is 18 months. Congratulations to Piyush Bharadwaj,
Santosh Ahinave, Gaurav Sood, Puneet Bhagat, Santosh
Ajgaonkar, Gaurav Kumar and team from this significant effort.
IN northern region has bagged an order from Jaiprakash
associates for Electrical balance plant for Sidhhi & Churk projects.
The scope of the order includes supply of 11kV GVCB, 6.6 kV
boards, CDDM LT panels, LT drives, distribution transformers and
complete installation. The duration of completion of project is 12
months. This has been the first reference order for Siemens make
Generator vacuum circuit breaker for the Indian market and for
drives with JP as the customer. Congratulations to Praveen
Khandelwal, Gaurav Sood, Pradeep Kapoor, Puneet Bhagat,
Gaurav Kumar, N Prasad and team for this special effort.
IN Northern region, plant services have received an order of 3
million for carrying out the Annual Maintenance of Moser Baer
Plant. The Scope of work includes the maintenance & servicing of
LT panel, HT Panels, Bus Duct & Transformer oil filtrations etc. The
duration for carrying out the activity was 24 Hrs. Considering the
scope of work, time duration & wide spread of the Plant, it was a
mammoth task. The job require minute planning for manpower,
spares & material. App 350 Manpower consisting of Contractor 2
manpower, Specialist Services along Siemens Site Supervisors
were called for carrying out the job. The Major work to be carried
out during this shutdown period was the under servicing of
following panels, viz. HT Panels, VCB servicing & Testing, ACB
Servicing & Testing, LT Feeders, LT Panel, Relays Testing, Bus
Ducts, and Transformer Filtration. The shutdown was given on 10
AM & the plant was put into operation at 6AM next day. The job
was completed within a period of 20 Hrs. The team was lead by
Debashis Subudhi, Amit Gupta, Manish Soni, B.B. Naithani and S.
C Bhandari. Congratulations Team!
Western Region: IN western region bagged and order from Adani
Power Ltd for the construction power package for Kawai Thermal
power project at Rajasthan in Q3 FY 2010. The scope of work in this
project included the supply, installation, commissioning of one no. of
33/11 kV substation and 12 nos. of 11/ 0.433K substations. The client
has appreciated value addition brought by Siemens to the overall
project. The duration of the project is 6 months. Congratulations to
Sunai PaiVaidya, Jitesh Mehta, V Prasanna, Kunjan Shah, Parag Rathi,
Sonali Chakraborty and team for this significant effort.
IN western region bagged a 33 kV & 415 V electrification package
order valued INR 77 million from Nuclear Power Corporation of
India Ltd in Q2 FY 2010. The project will cater to the requirements
of integrated test facilities at Tarapur, Maharashtra. The scope of
supply for this project comprises of 33 kV panels, 33kV/415
distribution transformers, 415 V bus-ducts, UPS, DC CPS, Cables &
termination kits, Trays, Light fitting & accessories, and earthing
materials. Siemens strong product portfolio, past references of
project executions and working in close coordination with the
EDM & IA BT LV DS team helped in achieving a high technical
rating vis-à-vis competitors helped in bagging this order. Kudos
for this magnificent achievement to Akhil Pai, Anant Lohar,
Venugopal Prasanna, Jitendra Lokhande, Gautam Mitra, Sunai Pai
Vaidya and team.
Southern Region: IN southern region bagged an order in Q3 FY
2010 from Anrak Aluminium Ltd valued at INR 153 million for
220kV switchyard and HT distribution system. The duration of
completion of the project is 8 months. The scope of supply in the
project is 220kV switchyard and 33kV/ 11kV HT panels. Excellent
relation with the customer helped in bagging this order.

team for this significant achievement.
IN southern region also bagged an order in Q2 FY 2010 from
Lanco Industries Limited for modification works for mini blast
Major Projects Commissioned
MT-Metals western region commissioned the SPM_ Revamp
project for Tata Steel Limited at Tarapur. The project was
completed within 4.5 months. In this the scope included revamp
of PLC & Drive systems of Skin Pass Mill. The significant
achievement was that the shut down time of 9 days was achieved
against the committed period of 12 days and the team was able
to achieve the customer's expectations very satisfactorily.
Congratulations to Girish Gupta, Sandeep Patil, Harish Saste,
Mitesh Sheth, Natha Patil, Mohsin Patel, Akash Joshi, Amit
Lineswala, Bhushan Balpande, R Venkataraman and team for this
excellent effort. In addition to the above, the same team also
completed the revamp of PLC & Drives systems of Electrolytic
Cleaning Line for Tata Steel Limited at Tarapur. It was also
completed within a span of 4.5 months, meeting all deadlines,
just as customer had desired. Congratulations Again!!
MT-Metals western region also commissioned the inspection,
replacement and commissioning of 7MW motor for HSM within a
record time of 10 days for Ispat Industries Ltd, Dolvi. The shut
down time of 45 Hours was achieved against the committed
period of 5 days, exceeding the Customer's expectation.

splendid effort.

IN southern region bagged an order valued at INR 87 million
from GM sugars for Sugar and Co-gen plant power distribution.
The duration of completion of this project is 5 months. The
scope of this order includes 110kV switchyard with 25 MVA
HT/LT power distribution. The order was bagged against stiff
competition from Areva and ABB. Value engineering of
swicthyard and plant engineering helped in getting a better
rating ahead of the competition. Kudos to V.Senthil Kumar,
K.Ravikumar, K.Gurumurthy, Aditya Jayarao and team for this
achievement.
IN southern region also bagged and order valued at INR 60
million from Star Panel Board for it 66kV switchyard. The scope
of supply in this project is 66KV yard with 15 MVA transformer,
11KV panels and Distribution transformer. The order was
received against competition from Micron, Sterling & Wilson
and ABB. Congratulations to M.Ramanathan, K.Ravi Kumar,
K.Gurumurthy, Aditya Jayarao and team for this effort.
IN southern region also bagged an order from Saint Gobain
Glass India Ltd for plant power distribution. The duration of
completion of this project is 6 months. The scope of supply is
2.5 MVA imported transformer, LT panels and cabling. The
order was received against stiff competition from Schneider.

WT Orders: WT India bagged a significant repeat order in Oil & Gas
segment from L&T Ltd valued at INR 105 million for produced water
conditioning system at Mumbai High North platform. The duration of
completion of this project is 10 months. The scope of supply in this
project include the supply of 5 numbers 36'' Hydro cyclones, 4
numbers of DGF Recirculation pumps of capacity 192 cum/Hr and
detailed engineering of the skids that include detail drawings, piping
isometric and lifting drawings, structural and piping MTOs. The
engineering will ensure merger of three separate skids in the Oil &
Gas platform. Congratulations to T.M.Nagarajan, Sachin Shah, Raj
Kumar, GV Muralidhara, Devadatta Patil, Vikrant Phanase and Rakesh
Singh for this special effort.
IN-eastern region successfully completed the complete design,
engineering, manufacturing and supply of 132 kV sub-station for Jindal
Steel and Power Ltd in April, 2009. The scope of supply in this project
included 132 kV switchyard equipment, control relay panel, 33kV HT
boards, SCADA, FDA among the others. Being a brown field project, a
new switchyard was constructed at old switchyard area by meticulous
planning of phase wise dismantling of old equipment without any
power interruption.
In Eastern Region, the first time low impedance distribution type
bus-bar differential protection was implemented in this project. A
very cost effective SAS (Substation automation system) solution
with IEC 61850 compliant has successfully been developed and
implemented with the help of a local sub-supplier. This has
resulted in the Customer expressing their utmost satisfaction
during the survey conducted recently by I IS Customer Service
Survey 2010 by Siemens AG. Congratulations B. Mukherjee,
Sourish Dey, Anjan Datta, Amit Bachawat, Anil Hara, Abhijeet
Bhaumik and team for this significant effort.
IN northern region successfully commissioned Hindustan
Zinc's 220kV switchyard EPC 06 package-zinc smelter plant at
Dariba, Rajasthan. The project was completed within a span of
18 months. The scope of supply in the project included the
220kV Switchyard with 3nos 220/11kV 40MVA and 3nos
220/33kV 60MVA Power Transformers, with SCADA cum LMS
system. Congratulations to Praveen Khandelwal, Hari Singh,
Kiran Tijare, Mihir Mathur, Dhiresh Saharia, S.C. Bhandari, 3
Gaurav Kumar, Avinder Singh for this significant achievement.
SAIL DSP Order Contract Signing competence in engineering & execution and also
acknowledged the superiority of Siemens' products. The
goodwill generated by us helped our LV Switch board group to
acquire supply order for LV panels for the same plant. At a later
stage during execution, customers also appreciated our
support in civil re-design of switchyard to overcome the
construction problems. Congratulations to Anant Lohar, Hardik
Sanghvi, Jitendra Lokhande, Gautam Mitra and team for the
significant effort.
IN southern region successfully commissioned the 220 kV
substation and transmission line project between MRS and LBSS6
for RINL Vizag Steel plant. The project was completed within
duration of 20 months. The scope of the project included Design
Supply installation testing and commissioning of 220KV
Substation at MRS, LBSS6 and transmission line between MRS &

IN northern region also completed the 11kV/3.3kV/415v power

distribution & instrumentation package for Hindustan Zinc's
melting furnace at Haridwar, Rajasthan. The project was
completed within duration of 5 months. The scope of supply in
the project were the 33kV/ 11kV/ 415V panels, 3 distribution
transformers, extension of existing Allen Bradley SCADA systems.

IN northern region also completed the 132/220kV switchyard for
2x50MW for the Captive Power Plant for Shree Cement Ltd. the phase
I of the project was commissioned in March, 2010 and the phase II of
the project was commissioned in June, 2010. The scope of supply in
the project was 220/132kV Switchyard, single bus with total 14 bays.
Congratulations to the team led by Praveen Khandelwal, Ajay LBSS6. The supply also involved transformers (3x63MVA and
Ganeshan, Firoz, Mihir Mathur, Dhiresh Saharia, S.C. Bhandari, Gaurav 3x110MVA), 33KV and 11KV Switchboards with SCADA with
Kumar, Avinder Singh for this special effort. CRP's for 220KV, 11KV and 33KV, HT and LT Cabling. During
charging, 3 Bays of MRS were taken in service. 1 Bay at MRS

FIT Back Training at SVAI

FITback Event Training and Implementation in MT India (Kolkata) was
conducted between 07th - 11th of June 2010 by Michael Seidler & Karl
Stelzer from SVAI Linz. The training in FITback process for Kolkata was
conducted for the nominated Key users from CR, SM & IR functional
segments who will assist the FITback nominated implementation
coordinators of the functional segments to train the rest of the
members.
To start with, all the members of the functional segments shall use the
Test FITback system which is offline version of the FITback system till
end June, 2010 to get conversant with the Event reporting in the
FITback system. During this period the nominated Key users and the
respective coordinators shall train the other members of the functional
segment in posting the events in FITback system. Beginning July, 2010
SVAI MT Kolkata shall be in a position to enter the events in the real
FITback system online.
SVAI MT Kolkata will be responsible only for the event entries into the
FITback system online along with the analysis of the events; the measures
to be taken shall be under the responsibility of SVAI Linz till the Center of
Competence is acquired by SVAI Kolkata to analyze the events and
suggest measures in the FITback system. Further more nominated
members of each segment namely, Design Engineering, Order
Management and Procurement were trained for event entries into 4
FITback system.
PM@Siemens - Training at SVAI
A training program was conducted on PM@SIEMENS at Kolkata in May, 2010 on behalf of Order Management Department of Siemens
VAI Metals Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Twenty seven employees of Order Management Department had participated in the aforesaid
training program including Mr. Frank Vulliez - I IS MT France. Joerg Macherey (MT Project management Coach, MT OM PM) and Rudolf
Wimmer (Commercial Project Management, MT OM PM BA) were in charge of the training. The program was for four days (25-May-
2010 to 28-May-2010), between 09:00 to 17:00 each day. In the initial three days, - different topics of Project management like
General Basics, different aspects of Technical & Commercial Project Management and Execution, Time Scheduling, Quality Control etc.
were discussed, followed by a knowledge test for PM certification on the concluding day. Ayan Ghosh & Tara Shankar Palit participated
in the knowledge Test & qualified for further assessment. The PM @Siemens Cerfication assessment will be held in August, 2010.This
kind of training was arranged first time in SVAIMT - Kolkata and was a Grand Success. We are really very happy to express that we all
benefited from this training and would like to see such kind of trainings in future too to enhance our knowledge level

Compliance Monitor Team Visit At SVAI

Compliance Monitorship team visited India under the supervision of the Monitor, Dr. Theo Waigel and his independent U.S. Counsel F.
Joseph Warin of Gibson Dunn in the month of April 2010. Also, CFA worked on behalf of the Monitor Team.

CFA team reviewed all documents and transactions of the unit from 19th April to 30th April-2010.and we have been informed that the Reports are
satisfactory.

On 30th April a personal interview was conducted by Gibson Dunn partner Robert C. Blume and Attorney at law John. D. W. Patridge at
Siemens-Delhi Office for Ashoke Pan-C.E.O., Sukanta Chattopadhyay-C.F.O and Dipankar Ghosal- L.C.O. They have enquired several norms and
policies of the Company and also of the Customers and Vendors.

IS Safety Training Workshop at Kharghar

I IS Safety training was conducted for E&C engineers at Kharghar on June 21 & 22 , 2010. I IS Safety has taken an initiative to cover safety
trainings for E&C Engineers, who visit the site during testing & commissioning phase. Therefore safety aspects during testing & commissioning
phase play a very important role with our E&C Engineers. Accordingly relevant topics were decided and expert faculties were arranged to
impart safety trainings. The training program was inaugurated by Mr. Raj Sinha and Mr. Girish Gupta.

Following topics were covered during this 2 day training session:

1. Basic principles of accident prevention

2. Electrical safety

3. LOTO & Work permit system

4. First aid training

5. Effective usage of PPE

6. Safety aspects during height work

7. Job Safety Analysis

8. Fire protection & prevention

Practical demonstrations were given on Fire prevention, use of fire extinguishers & first aid administration. All the participants were
involved in mock exercises to help them understand for better implementation.

Geoff Wingrove joined Siemens Limited as the Head of Metals Technology in Industry Solutions Division, India. He will be based in
Kolkata and will report to Robert Wagner. Prior to this Geoff Wingrove was with Siemens UK.
With effect from 1st June 2010, Anil Chopra, takes as the Chief Financial Officer of Siemens VAI Metals Technologies Pvt. Ltd in India.
He will be based at Kolkata and will report to Mukesh Vig. Prior to joining this division, Anil Chopra was Head of Compliance in India

EA Water Expo Chennai (7-9 January, 2010)
I IS Water Technologies participated in EA Water Expo 2010 (Jan 7-9
2010) at Chennai. It was a joint participation by Industry Sector IS WT,
Energy Sector Oil & Gas-Process Compression and Industry Sector IA.
IS WT took the lead in this exhibition. The portfolios highlighted in
the exhibition were Industrial Water, Waste Water, Sewage Water,
Drinking Water, Disinfection, Automation & Energy, Services, and Sky
Hydrant Single Stage Centrifugal Turbo Compressors for Aeration
(Energy). Stephen Willis from Siemens Ion Pure, UK presented a paper
in the International Conference on "Continuous Electro-Deionization
Technology. Panel Display, Audio-Visuals, Presentations, Brochure
distribution were used

Indian Power Stations 2010(13-15 February, 2010)

I IS Water Technologies participated in the "Indian Power Stations-2010" at Noida in 13-15 February. It was a Power O&M conference and
exhibition where all power utilities and manufacturers related to power participated in the conference and where NTPC Ltd was the major
organizers. This event showcased the best and modern technologies and practices adopted in the operation and maintenance of power plants
world wide. In this event the major power generators in India such as SEBs, DVC, CESC, TATA Power, Budge Budge, GMR, APGENCO etc., and
across the world from countries including USA, UK, China, Japan, Korea, Australia, South Africa, Canada etc participated. Equipment
manufacturers and service providers such as GEC, ABB, Alstom, BHEL, Storm technologies, Hitatchi, Toshiba, Land Instruments, EPRI, and Innogy
etc participated in a big way to demonstrate the advance technology and latest systems being used for O&M of Power plants. Siemens WT
highlighted the entire portfolio for Power sector in this event through paper presentations, brochures, panel display and others. R Rajkumar from
I IS WT presented a paper on "Chemical free protection of de-ionized water through continuous electro deionization module" in the event.

PAPERTECH 2010 Hyderabad (15-16 June, 2010)
The Indian pulp and paper sector is one of the energy and water
intensive sectors. The sector also offers tremendous scope for
improvement in environmental performance. The energy, water
and environmental performance depend on the level of production
and technologies employed. Hence the pulp and paper
manufacturers are increasingly on the look out for technologies. So
to facilitate continuous improvement of energy, water and
environmental performance in Indian paper industry CII-Sohrabji
Godrej Green Centre has instituted an annual event PAPERTECH.
The 4th edition of Papertech 2010 was held on June 16-17, 2010
at CII-Godrej GBC, Hyderabad which was organized by CII and
Indian Paper Manufacturers Association. The theme of the event
was "Make Indian Pulp & Paper Industry World Class". I IS IN Paper
Group participated in the event as Gold Sponsors. The paper
portfolio was highlighted through paper presentations, panel
display, and brochures and other branding initiatives. Stanley
Dorasamy, Senior Sales and Marketing Manager from Siemens AG,
Germany presented a paper on Asset Performance Management in

Power Gen Exhibition 2010 Mumbai (21-23 April, 2010)
I IS Water Technologies participated in the Power Gen India Exhibition at Mumbai in April 21-23, 2010. This exhibition was a joint
participation from Siemens Energy Sector, I IS WT and SBT in which the energy sector took the lead in the exhibition. WT highlighted
its portfolio related to power sector through panel displays, visuals, brochures, CD and others.

World Cup Fever Hits SVAI Kolkata Team

Who needs Messi, Ronaldo, and Kaka when we have local Kolkata
heroes like Hazra, Bhattacharya and Ghosh?
Yes, despite India not qualifying for the World Cup, the ambitions
of local Siemens VAI would be hopefuls hasn't been dampened.
These enthusiasts have taken to the field in the run up to the
World Cup, trying to replicate the moves and skills of the best in
the world. Unfortunately it will take until well beyond 2014 for
this group to get selected.
