How long have you been playing for the Club: Joined the Club in
1973
Fondest Cricket Memory: Winning the Cricket Wellington Norwood
Award in 1981/82 as the outstanding fielder in Wellington
Favourite Cricket Ground: Maidstone Park
Best Player you have played with - batsman: Robert SMITH (“RW”)
Best player you have played with - bowler: Bruce SMITH (“BD”)
Most difficult opponent: There has been a few, however Reg Alexan-
der (recently deceased) was always “challenging” as a player and
then as an umpire
Favourite food: Thai
Favourite Music: All types really, some of the latest stuff is alright
What I enjoy most about Upper Hutt United Cricket Club: Having a
cold beer with fellow cricketers.
Biggest change you have seen in cricket during your career with the
Club: It is a young person’s game and no stayers now, as previously
the second team of any club was always very strong.

One of the 3 Upper Hutt teams in this grade, coming 2nd
out of 13 teams, they had a win last week with a stunning
62* off 30 balls by captain Shaun Cook. Another notable
effort was that of Grant Parker with the ball, 3 for 5.
