WIL FORUM ASIA

Building a career is not so different from building a house. For a concrete house, you need to have solid ground, a good master
plan and most important, support pillars properly placed according to the master plan. Without support pillars, your home will not
stand long, quite similarly to your success in your professional life.

The WIL Forum Asia has been designed keeping in mind that your solid ground is your vision, the master plan is the path you
follow to realise your mission, and the support pillars are what will help you to achieve your vision.

The WIL Forum Asia focuses on these key support pillars which help towards effective leadership and taking women’s leadership
to the next level. The forum’s key pillars include:

Personality:
Determination, confidence to speak out and stand up, emotional control, the right attitude, dedication as well as the skill of
understanding people in the most efficient way are considered the main drivers to success. Hence, self realisation in one’s own
strengths and weaknesses will help in accepting the priorities in life, which then allows us to create a vision as well as the road
map to achieve to this vision while helping to manage people surrounding us.

Support group:
Asian women shoulder more responsibilities than before – both in domestic life as daughters, wives and mothers and in work life
as the emerging workforce of growing economies. In this environment, family and friends provide vital support in our business and
personal life which builds one of the key pillars to successful leadership.

Social systems and culture:

Social system and culture form the other key pillar in determining the role of women in society through providing equal
educational opportunities and development of the women’s community. Public representation of women helps governments and
society to understand women’s issues better and strengthens women’s roles in nation building.

Working environment:
The right working environment, one which accepts the women’s responsibilities in the community and provides flexible conditions
accordingly, features a high learning curve in addition to providing adequate mentorship, guidance, recognition and reward. The
right working environment is a key pillar that fosters women’s leadership, especially in non-traditional fields.

Knowledge and training:

The role of education system and the knowledge gained throughout our lives shape the development of our career path.
Employees’ skills set can be enhanced by training programs provided by organisations in a wide variety of field.
