4th Quarter

I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, learners will able to:
1. Distinguish the different uses of implements, equipment, materials and cosmetics in manicuring.
2. Value the importance of knowing the use and availability of the implements, equipment, materials and
cosmetics to facilitate manicuring.
3. Perform the different tasks wherein the students will able to use their knowledge in manicuring.

II. Subject Matter:


A. Topic: Implements, Equipment, Materials, and Cosmetics in Manicuring

B. Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of the use of tools and equipment in Nail Care
Services.
C. Performance Standard: The learner independently uses nail care tools and equipment in Nail Care Servicing..
D. Learning Competencies: Classify the tools and equipment used in nail care

B. Motivation
Instruction:
 The teacher will play a video presentation on Make your Nails Healthy and Beautiful.
 Students will instruct to jot down notes on different nail care tools that is shown in the video.
 The teacher will distribute each student a card with smiley or letter A inside.
 The teacher will ask the students following questions, when the students will called they will open their
card and if there is smiley inside the student will call other classmates to answer the question, if the
student has a letter A card he/she will answer the question.
 The questions are follows:
o What is the title of the video.
o What have you noticed or what have you learned?
o You saw the different tools that are used in manicure service, what are those tools?

A. Activity
Instruction:
 The teacher will group the students into 5 groups.
 The teacher will flash 20 words that are related in the video.
 Each group will write those words in graphic organizers (according to classification) using the manila
paper and marker that the teacher provides.
 The categories are Implements, Equipment, Materials, and Cosmetics.
 The group will select any representative to present their output.
 After the activity the teacher will correct each group’s graphic organizer.
 The following are the words show in the TV screen.

B. Analysis
After the group presentation ask the students the following questions:
 Regarding with different tools in nail care, what tools are you familiar with?
 Can you identify the different function of each hand tools?
 Can you properly demonstrate the proper use of each tools?

C. Abstraction
Discuss the Classification of different tools in manicure.

Ask the students their understanding of the lesson.


 Did you experience to go in any salon and manicured your nails? How would you build the trust in that
salon? Is it because of their implements, equipment, materials and cosmetic that they have to use?
 Having knowledge or skills and complete necessary implements, equipment, materials, and cosmetics
regarding on manicuring, how can it help you?
 What do you think is the essence of knowing the use and availability of the implements, equipment
materials, and cosmetics before facilitating manicure?
 Based on your experience, what is the value that have you learned?

D. Application
Instruction:
 With the same group earlier, each group will be have another activity.
 Group 1 – will make a role play showing how to promote those implements, equipment, materials and
cosmetics in manicuring. The goal of the said group is to get the attention of your customer to buy your
products.
 Group 2 – make a jingle about the uses of the different implements, equipment, materials, and
cosmetics in manicuring.
 Group 3 – will make a reflection about the cosmetics which is the nail polish remover. You need to relate
the nail polish remover into your life.
 Group 4 – will make a talk show discussing the importance of the implements, materials, equipment,
and cosmetics.
 Group 5 – make a hugot of at least 3 from different classification of tools in manicuring.
 Each group will be given 5 minutes to brainstorm their activity and 2 minutes to present it to the class.
