ABSTRACT/CASE REPORT POSTER PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

GENERAL SUBMISSION RULES

 A Resident must submit abstract for poster presentation before –


 Resident may submit up to 3 abstracts but present only 1 abstract .
 All abstracts must be prepared and presented in English only.
 Name, last name, title,department, institution, and contact details of authors
shall be stated clearly

Poster Guidelines:

 Each Resident Case Report poster should consist of (1) Title, including name
and his/her department (2) Introduction (3) Case Presentation (4) Discussion (5)
Conclusion and (6) References.

1. Title
a. The initial letter of the title must be capitalized. It should be in bold letters.

2. Introduction
a. The case report abstract begins with a short introduction. It describes the
context of the case and demonstrates its relevance or importance.

3. Case Description/Presentation
a. When reporting the case, describe in chronological order,typically the
clinical history, physical examination, investigative studies, differential
diagnosis ,management/ technique , the outcome and final diagnosis.
Product trade names used in the case treatment must be accompanied by
a generic term followed by the brand name in parentheses.

4. Discussion
a. The principal objective of the discussion is to review why decisions were
made and summarize the lesson from the case. Clinical considerations
should be included by a brief description of the case. Included are the
reports from the literature that either directly support or contradict the
findings of the case.

5. Conclusion:
a. This should be concise and only in few sentences. Describe the clinical
importance and relevance to medical field.

6. References:
a. Should provide additional information to the readers and they should
support any specific points highlighted.
 Resident should mount his/her poster the day before the presentation and will be
notified by the research committee when to remove the poster.

 The poster size should be 5 feet (height) x 4 feet ( width). The poster board is
situated vertically (portrait format). For each poster, the resident will be provided
with a poster board area.

 All material should be readable from distances of 3 feet away or more. You are
strongly encouraged to use 22pt type minimum using bold type to ensure
legibility. Make all print dark on a light background, preferably white.

 Write your poster content as concise as possible.Charts, graphs,pictures and


illustrations should be similar to those you would use in slides. Color, lines,
boxes, and arrows are used to emphasize important points.

 DO NOT write or paint on the poster boards.

 You may use only pushpins or any adhesive tapes to mount your poster.

 Place your Poster Presentation Number on the upper right corner of poster
board which will be provided by the Research Committee.

 Place your Department Logo on the upper left corner of your poster.

 Your poster should be self-explanatory .

POSTER PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

 Presenters are REQUIRED to be at the poster board during presentation time.


 Judges will come to your poster during poster presentations.
 The presentation time -------------------------------------------
 The time limit for each presentation is 7 minutes verbal presentation including
question and answer.

Proper Poster Format/Design 15 points
(organize and easy to follow and read)

Uniqueness/originality 10 points

Clarity and Relevance (describes 15 points


presenting signs and symptoms,
clinical course were clearly
presented ,investigations and
treatment provided and its rationale)

Question and Answer 10 points

TOTAL 50 points
