There are positive consequences of choosing a working environment.  An employment

opportunity is meant to provide a sense of self-fulfillment, career and personal development, and

financial gain. Revaluation of available employment opportunities is crucial aspect before taking

a job opportunity. Working in both developing companies and well-established companies can

be both advantageous and disadvantageous.

Working in a small organization allows the employees to have personalized interaction

amongst themselves and the management of the organization. Also, the firms offer higher

salaries to the employees. Since the company is seeking to grow, it also provides an opportunity

for the employees to also grow professionally alongside the firm. Mentoring for profession

beginners will help Mary develop a higher competency alongside learning from colleagues

employees (Boettcher & McManus, 2015). The company also has an insurance scheme that

covers the workers dental and body health.

Moreover, taking the job as a psychological associate can be disadvantages too. There is

a limited chance of career promotion due to a low number of people and the distribution of

power among the employees. There is a less open chance of advancement in the firm to a

management level.

Moreover, the second job scenario presents a situation where Mary has been offered a

career start in a well-established company. The company can provide an excellent opportunity to

learn new things and the best psychological practices. Big companies always have adequate

resources for career beginner to the user for development and exposure. Since a high number of

employees characterizes more prominent companies, the company will widen the technical

contact of Mary at work (Burlingham, 2016). Besides, at big companies, each employee is tasked

with a particular responsibility. They, therefore, limit the employee from gaining a wide range of

skills and experience.  

Starting by working in a small firm is more advantageous compared to working in big

firms. Mary should choose to work as a psychological associate at the low rehab center.

Motivation is crucial at the start of a career. Working in a small firm provides a sense of

ownership of the firm and will provide Mary with the opportunity to expand her skills within the

firm (Boettcher & McManus, 2015). There is also easy access to the management and

implementation of ideas is more comfortable. This opportunity will allow Mary to react more

straightforward and faster to changes within the organization.

First job scenario offers the best professional start for Mary. Being a psychological

associate provides Mary an exposure and required experience. The job opportunity is more

advantageous in several ways compared to the second job. Working in a small organization

allows the employees to have personalized interaction amongst themselves and the management

of the organization. Also, the firms offer higher salaries to the employees.
