I was born in Reno, Nevada after I was born, my parents decided to move to Pontiac, Michigan.
My parents are Hispanics, my father has 7 children in total with different women I’m the
youngest, my mom only has me, she was illegal in this country. They decided that it would be a
good idea to move to Tijuana, Baja California that was when I turned 5 years old.
We lived there while they work in San Diego, Ca and while I was going to kindergarten at
Tijuana.
When my parents decided to want to come back to the United States to start over and live here,
my mother who was the one with illegal documents got caught, so she couldn’t come back again
after that they decided to stay in Tijuana. I’ve lived there almost all my life, I finished
Elementary School, awesome grades of course because it was in my language, after that my
When I turned 14 years old I dropped middle school a cause of depression, I did regret after
because I loved school, I had and still have my dreams. I missed my unconditional friends who
always supported me and still do it. When I turned 15 I was a lot better my dad asked me if I
wanted to go live with him in Nevada with him and the rest of my family, I said yes.
It was a challenge to live there, including the school I barely knew English and the area we lived
didn't help that much because there were people that only speak English, like in many schools
there were kids who would be making fun of my accent but even though that made me feel bad I

never let them stop me to keep learning. When I turned 17 years old I knew a lot better English,
started to work part-time and started to earn A’s in most of my classes during my Junior year, my
mom was glad I was doing better because I always give the best of me for the things I want.
It was a little difficult because I didn’t have a car, I needed to walk an hour to school and another
back home, then another to work. I started to have problems with my dad because even though I
was a tranquil person he would be extremely strict, so I left on good terms and lived at my aunt’s
house for one and a half years and thank god she helped me a lot. She was like a second mother
to me, then I left Nevada and arrived here in San Diego, CA.
I met a girl who told me about job corps and how much it helped her, so I decided to investigate
it and I got interested in the CNA trade. Now I’m certified as a Nursing Assistant and got my
High School diploma, but I still want to grow more academically that’s the reason why I’m
applying to this college so I can be a successful person and have a productive future for me and
my future family.
I’ve been interested in the Nursing field because helping others is my passion makes me feel
good, I enjoy being around any person regardless of their ethnicity, sex or religion. I am open-
minded and know how to respect other personal beliefs, how to talk to people when they aren’t
calm. I can definitely see myself as a Registered Nurse in the future helping others, in order to
pay my expenses in the state of California. In conclusion, I have to say that I would love to have
an opportunity at this college because I am a hard working student and I am always looking
