3.2.10. B1.
Analyze the relationships among the net forces acting on a body, and the mass
of the body, and the resulting acceleration using Newton’s Second Law of
Motion.
Apply Newton’s Law of Universal Gravitation to the forces between two objects.
Lesson Objective(s)
(Stated in observable and measurable terms)
1. Use Prezi to create a 5-7 slide show using Prezi.com to introduce Newton’s
three laws.
2. Be able to state the three laws and give examples of each.
Assessment Plan
(What will be done to determine if lesson objectives have been met?)
The students will be assessed on their Prezi slide show. The slide show will be assessed
on content, mechanics, grammar, and attractiveness. The slide show must contain
photos, text, and 5-7 transitions.
Materials:
Students with special needs will have the option to create a story board on paper first
using an outline provided by the teacher. This will help the student to sort out their ideas
before working with the computer program.
Enrichment Techniques:
Students will be challenged to create use aspects of Prezi not required by the teacher.
Students with fine motor skills or other learning disabilities may have the option to create
their slide show using a story board on paper. This should be used only to allow all
students entry into the lesson. Once the students have their ideas/thoughts on paper, a
teacher or paraprofessional will aid the student in creating their Prezi slide show.
Lesson Presentation
Introduction/Motivational Activities/Anticipatory Set:
The teacher will present their Prezi slide show. Ask the students to write down three eye-
catching details. Share some of the students’ responses. This should lead into a
discussion about what the student slide shows should look like and teacher expectations.
Students will create Prezi slide show detailing the Three Laws of Motion. This is an
introductory activity. The students should state important facts about the laws and
provide examples and pictures. The slide show should be creative, original, contain no
grammatical errors, and be visually appealing.
Closure: Students’ slide shows will be presented their desktop computers. Students will
circulate around the classroom and view at least 3 of their peer’s slide shows. After they
view the slide they must write a comment about that slide. The comment can be positive
or advice to enhance the slide show.
