The model 9001 Signal Analyzer/Bench Test Generator
Model 9001 E uses very advanced semi-conductor technologies to
measure carrier current frequencies superimposed upon the 120 volt AC power line by time system transmitters or Signal Analyzer/ generators. Very special and highly selective digital filters are required to measure signals of several tenths of a volt Bench Test Generator riding upon the AC power line. This is because it swings from minus 165 volts peak to plus 165 volts peak, or 120 VAC RMS. The frequency selected for measurement is displayed along with the signal voltage present on the AC line, with .01 volt resolution. The 9001 uses three dedicated microprocessors to accomplish this task. The base frequency is varied slightly to better measure within ON OFF 1 2 14 3 the bandwidth of the signal. This is why you see some 4 digit "bobble" in the lower order units of the frequency DURATION 8 GENERATOR ENERATOR display. The 9001 can measure frequencies from approximately 2500 hz to about 19500 hz (cycles for us old guys). There is NO on/off switch. When the unit is plugged into the wall, it is ready to go. The internal CCT-9001 circuitry is protected by a solid-state fuse (Poly fuse), while another protects the clock plugged into the outlet. These fuses are of the resetable type, meaning when the short is removed, they reset automatically. The output may be directly shorted without damage to the unit.
A black or gray, double male connector cord is supplied
to directly measure the frequency of Carrier Current Technologies 6000 series Signal Generators. This is plugged into the front panel 9001 receptacle and the Carrier Current Technologies transmitter/signal generator receptacle for direct 3150 Mercier Suite 520 measurement. This cable will NOT work with any Simplex transmitter.
