2. Course Title : Broadcast and Acoustics

5. Credit/ Class Schedule : 1 unit

6. Course Description : The course deals with studio and room acoustics,
acoustical transducers, mixers, principles and theories of broadcasting audio and video
information with emphasis on the peculiar requirements of modern broadcasting as well
as electronic equipment and peripheral devices necessary for transmission of AM, FM,
and TV signals originating from broadcast studios and remote locations. It includes the
study of the recording and the reproduction of audio and video by tape, disk and film.

It covers AM radio, FM radio and TV broadcast standards. It also involves a
comprehensive study of CATV, MATV and CCTV and state-of-the-industry video systems.
