RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This chapter will describe how the study is undertaken. It

will discuss the research design, research instrument and data

sources and measures, procedure and statistical treatment of

data.

Research Design

The researchers will focus their study about the

innovativeness and creativeness of senior high school students in

Misamis University, Oroquieta Unit. The descriptive method will

be used as the type of research design of the study which will be

conducted through giving survey questionnaires to the

participants in order to gather the quantitative data.

The statistical tools of mean, percentage, frequency,

Pearson-R test and multiple-regression analysis were also used in

the interpretation of data.

Research Respondents and Sampling Procedure

A total of 89 senior high school students will be randomly

selected in Misamis University, Oroquieta Unit through their

availability of letting themselves to participate in the

conducted survey. The researchers will be randomly selecting

numbers of students per strand.

Data Source and Data Gathering Instrument

The research instrument will have three parts. Part I select

out simple demographics of the respondent. Demographics include

the age and gender of the respondents. Part II talks about the

innovativeness of the respondents. Part III is about their

creativeness. The researchers will use the terms innovative and

creative to measure the innovativeness and creativeness of the

respondents from the study entitled “Innovativeness and

Creativeness of Senior High School students in Misamis

University.” Specifically, the innovativeness of the respondents

is measured using the Individual Innovativeness (II) of Hurt,

H.T., Joseph, K., & Cook, C.D. Also, Short Scale of Creative Self

(SSCS) by Maciej Karwowski will be utilized to measure the

creativity of the respondents. The author of the instrument for

measuring the creativity of the respondents and the website from

where the instrument for measuring the innovativeness of the

respondents gave permission for the researcher to use or modify

their instrument.
