DANEL
You remember where it was? Jared?
Jared's posture turns stiff as he barricades Danel for going
any further. He carries the Asqulalu - Sunspit Mace - on his
back. Jared circles his head around in full alert. He inhales
greatly the wafting smell of cooking meat and smoke. The
aroma is too intense to ignore.
JARED
(whispering)
Smell that?
Danel nods. Still contemplating weather Seth's tales and
warnings were actually genuine. He was forced to come to
terms to his dire situation. But as things were unfolding,
not only where they in grave danger, but their family, the
innocent villagers - Huldah!
The brothers follow the game trail and approached a copse of
juniper trees. Over the ravine, in the distance, blanked in
the morning fog, slithered a wispy pillar of smoke and the
slight muffle of voices and the noticeable rumbles of a
larger and deeper voice. As the boys observe from above at
the campsite, about a hundred yards away, they notice a large
shadow of a giant man amongst the haze.
Jared, blown away, studies his brother for any suggestions.
Without a word, Danel rushes up the other away, followed by
Jared to get back to the village. Due to the fog, they could
not tell if the campsite held mere soldiers, Lahmu, Nephilim
or even Nephilim of the Dragon Court. The boys break into a
fierce dash, running with frustration, fear and adrenaline.
They scrambled through the forest until Danel in front trots
to a stop, not even tired due to the antediluvian world
having more oxygen. Humans can do more things without getting
tired like running for longer periods of time. Jared stops
with ease with Hajji Firuz Tepe close by.
2.
JARED (CONT'D)
You spread the word. I will talk
with father.
Danel nods and they push on.
Jared bursts inside Mahalalel's wine press. The father is in
mind stride. He is 180 years old and still looks 30.
MAHALALEL
What's the matter Jared?
Jared lowers his head.
JARED
Do you remember the band of city
traders that came here?
MAHALALEL
Indeed, what is it with them?
JARED
They're servants of the gods. They
saw this valuable mace that Danel
and I discovered and just
yesterday, the traders fled, only
to arrive again today. The
strangers this morning, arrived
with a small caravan of soldiers
camped a few leagues to the north
west. Danel and I identified them
by accident while trying to return
the mace. Might they be coming here
to find it?
(beat. He gets distressed.
He complains)
Father - what to I do?!
Mahalalel bows his head. He knew that this day would come,
that the Empire would find his family again. It was only a
matter of time. He sighs, rubs his face and fingers his
beard.
MAHALALEL
Oh Jared, you know what they did to
your mother. It is time...
He places his hands on his shoulders.
MAHALALEL (CONT'D)
They will stop at nothing to
dismantle our liberty. Your
grandfather, listen to him - every
word he speaks. Fly from Hajji.

MAHALALEL (CONT'D)
With Danel. Fetch some food from
the house,
Mahalalel gets up and while he is talking, gathers food and
packs from travel. Jared keeps his eyes on him.
MAHALALEL (CONT'D)
Then take my mare Sililu from your
uncle Mered - tending the flock,
and ride with your brother into the
foothills. Once we know what the
soldiers want, we will send uncle
Enan and to relay a report.
JARED
If they attack, what then?!
Mahalalel places bags of flat matzah bread, fruit and
vegetable bags with water and pauses.
MAHALALEL
Let us have hope son. They might
ask for you or Kenan to come forth.
The patriarchs will confront them
to reveal the outsiders true
intentions. At best, Jared,
according to the words of Kenan,
flee to Mt Sahand, cross the lake
and there abide. Then, we will slip
away and make sure the Kheruba are
acquainted with your arrival,
promising to tend to you. And we
will remain guiding and protecting
the village. If all goes amiss -
well, we will meet with you there,
in time. It will be okay, the
Kheruba are very hospitable.
JARED
But what of you?! They might raze
the whole village! For my sake, I
don't want to bear the guilt!
Please father, I want to stay! If
the king has word of the mace's
position, then bring me forth, and
he can take me instaed!
MAHALALEL
(voice breaks)
Jared, I am sorry you had to live
to see such asperities and dark
times... You know your destiny is
not in my hands...

MAHALALEL (CONT'D)
Trust in Heaven's will, and you
will be preserved son. You bear the
Chosen Seed in your loins. The
Savior is inside you. The gods want
you as good as dead, or, at the
very least, your manhood castrated.
Jared immediately cringes at his own argument, as well as the
prospect of losing his manhood of course. His argument was
fallible and incoherent to reason. He realised he was just
reacting off pure arbitrary whim from the stress.
JARED
(sighs)
You are right father... Forgive me.
I'll make haste.
Jared takes his supplies and blankets and turns out the door.
He looks to his father as he steps out. They stare at each,
Mahalalel smiles wryly. Jared departs.
The supplies were an awkward bundle in Jared's arms. He
arrives at Mered's pasture where he is in an animal
enclosure, carrying two horse by a rope and circling the
sheep.
JARED (CONT'D)
Uncle Mered, we need to speak!
MERED
Bless you Yared. Hello!
Points at Sililu.
JARED
I need to borrow her.
Jared mounts the white horse and spurs her along towards the
west. Jared gallops along the foothills of the Zagros alone,
with much grace. Lake Urmia glitters on his right side. LONG
SHOT of the Lake as we see Jared gallop towards the hills to
our right.
CUT TO:
Jared and Danel with their horse tied up on trunks nearby at
a small campsite watching over the valley with the village in
the distance. It is evening. A black mass of soldier snake up
the trail, who are spurred from behind on by a towering
Nephilim. He is only a teenager. The imperious posture and
regalia of gold made Jared and Danel assume that it might be
a young member of the Dragon Court. He seemed to be around 35
feet tall! He was pale white and gray, and his cranium of his
brain mass is exaggerated and large like an alien.
5.
The crowd ceases and rubbernecks at the poor man now in the
grasp of a giant. They scream and gasp.
Kalbum's wife Radjni, cannot believe it. She struggles with
the soldiers.
RADJNI
NOOO!
BEK
FATHER!
Kalbum howls and struggles in the giant's fist.
KALBUM
NO! NO! NO! PLEASE! DON'T EAT ME!
PLEASE!
Kenan and the patriarchs yell for peace at the top of their
voices.
KENAN
Stop this now, Asakku! Is my
presence not enough? Take me
instead of that innocent man!
The soldiers pin him down. Enosh finds it horrifying to see
his son get arrested.
KENAN (CONT'D)
Argh. Put him down! Please! I
admit! I'll reap what I sowed.
Asakku grimaces and studies Kalbum panicking in his hands
wondering if he should eat him raw or cook him.
KALBUM
No, no, no, no! GAHAH! Give me some
air en. Huah!
ASAKKU
I have already made up my mind
Kenan. This village is now under
lockdown, until further
investigation can be performed. In
the meantime,
(he sniffs Kalbum)
Your interrogation should be swift
as your plea of honesty indicates
so. Then I will not grow so hungry,
as Igigi do very often.
12.
After a few seconds, white Silliu and grey Torna, jerk back
at the forceful thrust. Expecting to take in the friction of
landing, the boys were skimming inches above the ground at
supernatural rocketing speed, gliding with the wind. Out of
the corner of Jared's squinting eyes from the ferocious
shrilling gale, the cold piercing like a spear he caught
dreamy glimpses of fair men, wispy in the air, with arms out
as if to push him. Flashes of white cloud dance around him as
if he was on the wings of the wind. Their visions seem to
blur.
The Lahmu holler and splash in the water confounded.
SETH
(sighs)
Of course, we will never cease
interceding for the safety of
Kenan, the village and the boys.
But our top priority is to get
ready and stay put until any reason
is given otherwise.
Enan bursts through the doors panting, horrified and out of
breath. They set him down. Enan attempts to word something,
but his voice fails him. Then, screams of women howl across
the village along with the footsteps of a group of people
outside. With a sweat covered brow, shaking lips and stunned
eyes, Enan finally speaks.
ENAN
(weak and monotone)
Kalbum is dead.
His mouth remains open in shock, his eyes look heavy as he
slightly sways.
Enosh at his side, closes his eyes and covers his face in his
hand. Kenan's wife Dinah curses under her tongue.
Nevertheless, the verbal monolith of ambivalence shrouds the
room in a metaphysical shadow of despair at the loss of a
close neighbor. It takes a few uneasy seconds until Seth
breaks the silence.
SETH
How?
ENAN
During Kenan's integration, Radjni
slipped away and snuck in to
eavesdrops on the proceedings.
Mahalalel smiles and closes his eyes as he shake his head.
MAHALALEL
That woman is reckless and strong.
ENAN
While she was attempting to cover
her tracks, she bumped into a
soldier who, happened to fancy her,
assumed that if sooner than later,
her husband was already food and
that she was free to his bond in
marriage. Now, the soldier flirts
with the girl and I am witnessing
such an event. Remaining put, I let
fly a shout.

ENAN (CONT'D)
The soldier draws his sword and
Radjni strikes him; in the shin
unawares mind you. The commotion
gets bigger as I flee but, poor
Radjni.. Oh, the vile evil they
brought out from Askkau's bone
fire...
(gulps)
As if they perceived her purpose of
being here, in haste, the soldiers
hearkened to her. She wanted her
Kalbum back.
(beat)
She got bones.
Mered, his brother's eyes widen.
MERED
Bones?
ENAN
Every one of them was nibbled
clean. Many freshly crushed from
the marrow. Possibly used for tooth
cleaning Asakku's maw.
SETH
Desecration!
AZURA
To what end?
Enan shakes his head in disgust.
ENAN
The spawn of Nergal and all the
gods are not human. They're
demonic. Unlike any creatures in
our world - a virus of wickedness,
that is not to be reckoned with.
A sense of revulsion fills the room.
SETH
We, are witnessing the
corruption... It has begun...
Mahalalel gets ups and with flared nostrils, thinks of his
wife, then his son's possible fate. He pulls at his collar
and looks at if he was about to explode.
MAHALALEL
(scowling and with
pronounced deliberation)
19.
MAHALALEL (CONT'D)
They... must... go. Such god -
desecrators, have invaded
everything we love. They have
endangered life on earth with no
signs of contrition. They are I
tell you, they're all forked
tongued, dogmatic liars!
An explosion cracks into the air. Then rapid fire popping
bangs along with sounds of terrorised villagers running
outside surround the house. Hues of orange and red flicker
outside the window. The patriarchs look at each other in
silence. They rush outside without a word and turn the corner
to behold - a conflagration of licking flames, brewing from
the huts and shops. Soldiers have their arm grenades ready on
an arbitrary rampage. The open fire at the huts and all
things that resemble human civilization. In terror, some
people are even shot and caught on fire running around
aimlessly with flailing arms.
CUT TO:
INT. TENT
Kenan hops as he is shouting at the top of his lungs as the
soldier hold him back furiously.
KENAN
NO! YOU MONSTERS! I WOULD NEVER
WITNESS FALSELY!
SOLDIER SOLDIER 2
HALT! Git back in there! ENOUGH! Shut up!
Kenan falls back on his hand from his severed leg.
KENAN
(strained on verge of
tears)
Please. If you're still men, why
are such orders begin carried?!
One of the soldiers leans over him.
SOLDIER
The gods are rightful judges
unsavory pirate. The ends justify
the means.
Kenan shakes his head.
20.
KENAN
I am not sure how word got out.
Whoever that trader was, may hot
coals full on his head. He is
probably dead now.
KENAN (V.O.)
He is the world's hope, and the
gods know this well. When there is
still light, the darkness must
flee. And the darkness comprehended
it not.

ACT 1
BRIANNA
Well my resolution is to fix things
they way they were before.
BUTCHER
You wanna get back with Ben eh?
Brianna coyly looks at his suit then down at the ground.
BRIANNA
I might be 32 but I meet a great
man, and - sometimes I guess that
since we all want our lives to go
(she point up to the sky)
forward then maybe, maybe we can be
a family again, when the dust
settles...
Butcher gets uncomfortably close to Brianna.
BUTCHER
Don't worry Bri. You're such a
lucky woman to gain the privileges
you have.
(beat. In a softer tone)
Promise me you will relish this
night.
Silhouettes of the two as the firework explode. Rack focus to
the fireworks. They erupt rapidly as if they are missiles,
arches of smoke, exploding and reeking terror on the city.
CUT TO:
BOGDANOS
This is a question for Colonel
Thomas Franks: if we are going to
be boots on the ground, what kind
of command or support or
communication will we have backing
us up?
Thomas Franks (early 50s) robust razor sharp, serious guy who
demands respect at first glance as he is a four star army
general and commander of the US Central Command.
FRANKS
You will have the best support the
military has to offer you
Bogdandos. We have a dozen
different law enforcement
organizations at our back including
the CIA, JOC, NSA and more.
Marlowe, and the Colonels nod.
SARION
Things never get old.
CASBOLT
Yeah.
The two sit down at the end of Casbolt's bunk.
SARION
You have grown so much since I have
seen you Mike. Look at you.
CASBOLT
And you haven't even changed one
bit. Unfair.
Sarion laughs.
SARION
Oh you know, comes with the whole
package when you have become one
with a bristlecone.
CASBOLT
Yeah.
Beat.
CASBOLT (CONT'D)
Sarion, why are you really here?
Does it have anything to do with
the -
SARION
The giant? Of course.
Casbolt's mouth hangs open with confusion.
CASBOLT
I thought Danu and Bonner
terminated The White Waters.
SARION
Look Mike, this has nothing to do
with any of them. I have come on my
own accord because -
(beat and sighs)
It pains me to say it... But it's
because you are still being used.
You're not as free as you think
Mike.
29.
CASBOLT
Then, what am I supposed to do? I
(Beat and Casbolt's voice
begins to break)
I can't just fight -
(clenches his fist)
I just -
SARION
(soft, stressed and with a
tone of urgency)
Micheal.
Eyes beginning to shine with emerging tears that have been
hidden for years upon years of bitterness, isolation, pain
and the rubbish and hell of the past.
CASBOLT
I will not live through it. It is
only when I remain neutral,
everything is fine.
(beat. Fades into a
whisper)
Fine as it should... it should...
Fine...
Sarion studies Casbolt with sympathy.
SARION
You told someone.
CASBOLT
I did.
Sarion shakes his head.
CASBOLT (CONT'D)
I'm sorry... I didn't know what
else - His children are ready to be
abducted like me. He wanted to
prevent that. I just wanted to
help.
SARION
(more stern)
I appreciate you sharing your
testimony to help others Mike. But,
this is what is slowly killing you.
(leans over)
You cannot be living through the
dirt over and over again. You're
still holding grudges. Let them go.
30.
CASBOLT
How did you do it? When Dark
Controllers took you from your
wife. Justice needs to be served.
Forgiveness will not stop them!
Sarion sighs and looks away at the wall. Five beats. Sarion
reaches into his pocket and pulls out a chain and locket. He
opens it to reveal a very old, fussy and dark grey and black
image of his wife Mendeleise Lola Diane de Poitiers. She
looks like Lola Bessis. She is not smiling but her face
radiates such a gentle and delicate innocence. She regains
her gorgeous and angelic bloom at her late twenties through
her raised and slender head, tall and willowy, in her elegant
and fancy light purple lace dress with a straw hat tied with
a pretty ribbon. Small strands of her curly hair, dangle like
tangled bramble. Her photo is so captivating, it is hard to
not stop beholding her. Sarion slowly rubs the photo under
her chin with affection. He forms a small warm smile.
SARION
Everytime, before every war I
fought in, I would take this and,
ponder on her. It takes me back to
the perfect place. The places that
can only exist in the imagination.
It was the only way for me to cope
when bearing the feeling of guilt
while being unable to escape the
system, knowing that I am serving
the dark side.
(beat)
Call me lazy, but you either kill
or be killed. Lola reminds me what
life is truly about. It helps me
narrow my focus away from the mud
and the bludgeoning of unwillful
slavery. When everything around me
is crumbling, I would imagine
myself climbing back inside that
small vintage and timeless door,
touching her again, staring eye to
eye. With youthful desire. Back
when nothing mattered - back when
our hearts interlocked like two
ivory and ebony trees, growing into
each other... Roots and branches
reaching, twisting... gnarled
around one another - in an eternal
knotted trunk... A magical forested
heart...
(whippers and fades off)
Latent... enchanting...
31.
SARION (CONT'D)
I know will all my heart that what
you are missing, is waiting for you
to retrieve it. Count the costs of
having the truth. Our family goes
back to the same root bloodline
that your father has connections
to. But what characterized us is
emotion.
Casbolt glances at the locket then at Sarion.
CASBOLT
You want me to take it? But I -
Sarion awkwardly tucks the locket in his hand.
SARION
No. Just to build you up. To finish
running the race.
The two just sit there in silence, until Sarion breaks it
with a more cheerful tone.
SARION (CONT'D)
So, you're coming to America
CASBOLT
Yes. I like it over here. More laid
back and easy.
Sarion nods.
SARION
I understand. America is certainly
a dream holiday for many.
Sarion bows his head.
SARION (CONT'D)
But it's just another outpost.
CASBOLT
What were these pieces of knowledge
and wisdom you have that makes you
feel sad and guilty about serving?
What should I be aware of?
SARION
Well if you're thinking of settling
in the US, do know this.

SARION (CONT'D)
Some of the biggest men in the
United States, in the field of
commerce and manufacture, are
afraid of somebody, are afraid of
something. They know that there is
a power somewhere so organized, so
subtle, so watchful, so
interlocked, so complete, so
pervasive that they had better not
speak above their breath when they
speak in condemnation of it. The
modern financial system, started by
the Rothschilds, has been funding
both sides of every major war for
200 years. From 1812 to now, the
victorious always rewrite the
history and is it any accurate? The
oractrators of Operation Desert
Storm for example. From the shadows
303 has created, a new political
order, a new economic order and
more sinister - a new religious
order, will rise. By controlling
every major event and revolution
and infiltrating all key positions
of authority, it can be done to
withhold the savage force
international subordination. They
will stop at nothing in their plan
to reach their goal. The passing
through the two pillars, like the
ship passing the Pillars Of
Hercules into the New world or, the
Mason passing to the next rite of
passage - Jathinch and Boaz. And a
747 hitting the buildings; it's the
advancement from one epoch, into
another.
CASBOLT
We are in a new era...
Beat.
SARION
After times and times again, seeing
the events of history unfold right
before my eyes, to now... I'm...
speechless... I mean, there is not
a word to describe my feelings. It
is true. I never thought it was
possible to commit to such a plan
but, it actually worked. Worked.
Smoothly too. How is no one woke?

SARION (CONT'D)

The Hegelian Dialectic, Mike
remember this from the White
Waters: they create a problem with
clashing sides, they react, then
they have a solution. The Shinar
Mission is the reaction to the
problematic 'attacks'.
CASBOLT
And... Their solution -
SARION
A New World Order. Anointed by the
Messianic sign of 303.
CASBOLT
Yes but I spoke to a girl, who was
part of this society called the
Hunters of Artemis. She claimed
that they will accompany us, and
that it is part of their mission,
to harden the bands of Orion. I
think the solution has to do with
something to be found in Iraq.
Something very ancient. Something,
with technology from the era of Zep
Tepi... Some evil god bound in
chains... or -
Sarion offers a slight grin.
SARION
The gods of the classical world are
the rulers of America Michael. You
see, the mega-ritual-offering was
not only powerful enough to invoke
the Olympians, but simultaneously
triggered a supernatural tsunami
that compelled the gods of all
nations to corroborate their
invisible empires. To move beyond
the symbolic pillars of New York,
to a universal transformation,
unlike anytime in history. I think
she's right. It is a phantasmagoric
endgame and we're that generation.
The bullets are shot right back at all the soldiers all at
once. They howl and scream as they had no idea what hit them.
They are all pelleted and ripped as the bullets rain on them
at once. They all drop dead.
Joshua turns right back to the hole, and sticks his head out
trying all he can to escape. His bag gets caught in the thin
rocky gap. He tries to shove through but to no avail.
JOSHUA
HELP US!
Utterly dumbfounded, the diggers remained glued on spot as
the figure casually walks towards them, next in line to die.
Raising its smoldering sword, one by one, the diggers are
smitten. It is nothing but flashes of orange light zipping
across the darkness. Incoherent men screwing up in annoying.
Flashing to a face of a roaring lion, with large teeth. Flash
to another digger sliced clean in half from the neck all the
way down his leg in one swing.
Face drenched in sweat, Joshua struggles to budge, but it's
no use. He needs be quick. He looks behind at the carnage.
The figure with the firesword is fast approaching!
Flashes of balls of flames as a truncated body flies off the
ground as if an invisible hand plucks him in the air until he
hits the ceiling. The lion headed man punches his left fist
air, growling. It's watch is dancing madly and rippling like
a water's reflection from the sun during a gale. The lion man
looks ahead, not breaking a stride as he swiftly flicks his
scorching sword around, ending the life of the floating man
above. Sparks explode inside the man as he is blown in two.
The spark reveals the full features of the lion man - face
knitting mid snarl, eyes illuminating hate.
Another digger is beheaded by a powerful 3 o'clock stroke.
With two hands, the lion headed man viciously hammers down at
the remaining diggers trying to flee, all are consumed and
taken down by the deadly swings of the conflagration. The
lion man raises his hand and force chokes the supervisor.
Joshua heaves with all his might. Just as the figure comes
closer, in one desperate move, Joshua dislodges his leather
satchel bag by stepping back, and twisting in another angel,
slips through the crevice. A roar cracks the air along with
the surging sword as the supervisor is flung to the side in
the darkness. Now Joshua is all that is left. He just makes
it as the embers of the steam blade, swing pass, slicing
through rock instead. Lava begins to pour down as the sword
remain embedded in the rock wall. The man raises his feline
head and roars terribly with vexation.
38.
Joshua races down the hill, rocks and dirt tumble down like a
miniature avalanche.
Pounder's helicopter hovers over the mountain. Desperately,
the Colonel is searching with his light to find Joshua. From
the cockpit, he sees from the north west coming down is a
small squad of Arabic soldiers and from his south to east is
Joshua spanning the distance.
POUNDERS
I got him!
The chopper turns around for Joshua. But coming the other
way, yelling soldiers point their guns and fire at the
chopper.
The chopper taking multiple hits, the gunman lowers a ladder
in which Joshua leaps from his run and lands on it grappling
it. As the Pounders ascends, the soldiers aim at the ladder
and try with all their chances to hit Joshua. Pounders grits
his teeth at the maneuver to turn his chopper to a hard
right, away from the soldiers while going up.
Bullets zip past Joshua dangling on the ladder. Some cut into
the rope and scratch past his leather satchel. Joshua
struggles to climb.
GUNMAN
COME ON! COME ON!
While performing the feat, a bullet lands inside his thigh.
Joshua raises his head and hisses in agony. He loses his
footing.
GUNMAN (CONT'D)
NOO!
Pounders in anger, looks back down at the Arabic soldiers
still trying their last efforts to fire, nicking his
windscreen with a crack. When out of sight, Pounders turns
around.
POUNDERS
PULL HIM UP, PULL HIM UP!
GUNMAN
AHEAD OF YOU SIR!
The gunman heaves as he pulls the ladder up and grabs the
weak Joshua who helps himself with his stronger upper body
into the craft. With his hands, Joshua slides on his bottom
with legs stretched out and slumps against the wall,
exhausted.

ACT 2
BEN
He was with Pounders during the war
in 2000. Real sharp shooter mind
you. He worked with archaeologists
in Syria and supposedly stumbled
upon a forbidden site when one
night, he escaped alone, wounded in
the leg.
(beat)
No one knows what happened to him
that night. Not even Pounders who
just rescued him from incoming
fire. This is the man. He's been
through it all.
Julian shrugs and smiles.
JULIAN
He's got the brains and the
experience. Nice! I guess Josh will
teach us a lesson or two. Happy
days!
Silently put off at the strange and rather rude greeting, Ben
and Julian shakes their heads dumbfounded.
BEN
No.
Joshua slams his book shut. It is The Nephilim Chronicles:
Fallen Angels in the Ohio Valley By Fritz Zimmerman.
JOSHUA
I thought not. You're, curious to
find out why I'm so ahead of the
game right? Pounders called me
today Benjamin.
He points to a large whiteboard with a poster of a bearded
man next to a femur bone about as tall as himself,
superimposed over a black and white diagram of a giant 12 to
15 foot tall human skeleton. Next to it is a picture of a
cave painting of a slender elongated headed giant and a
coliage of Mudfossil rock formations of petrified giants and
creatures the size of mountains.
JOSHUA (CONT'D)
He told me everything. You took
down one of the big ones eh?
They nod rather stupidly.
JOSHUA (CONT'D)
(cheeky smirk and opens up
his arms)
Welcome to my world. The world of
conspiracies, antiquities and
oddities.
Beat.
BEN
Look Joshua, we really are thankful
for your hospitality. But -
JOSHUA
Yah, I said no. I'm done with the
hide and seek routine long enough
okay? After the disaster that
happened a few years back, I see no
reason to want to join Pounders
again, for what other top secret
government mission he has for me.
GARROW
What about a second chance?
44.
JOSHUA
Tell you what, if I did make it
there, how do you expect me to join
if you can't tell me!
BEN
Join me if you want to know more.
You could be reinstated as an E-5
or stay in this dump missing out on
the potentially world changing
discoveries of all time.
MARTINEZ
Oh man, look it here.
RANDALL
Hey look at Rhode.
BILL
Wait, Justin is that your bag?
Justin groggily raises his head, dizzy and still trying to
slow down his heart rate.
JUSTIN
Wah?
Bill Sargent points at the rumpled bag with its content of
clothes spawned everywhere. Justin takes a while to get
himself together, when Drill Sergeant Rhode bellows.
DRILL SERGEANT RODE
WHO DID THIS!?
Justin snaps and spies Rhode, then looks back at his bag.
Absolute horror and despair crushes him. He winches and
moans.
JUSTIN
Oh...
Justin falls onto his knees at the empty bag. He aimlessly
picks it up, the poor kid humiliated. Like a menacing tower,
the Drill Sergeant steps into view and stands over poor
Justin Best, shouting over him as a mad man.
DRILL SERGEANT RODE
YOU NEVER KNOW WHO WILL COME INTO
YOUR DORM TO TRASH YOUR PROPERTY!
YOU UNDERSTAND BEST!?
Swallowing, and with a sweating and frozen face, looking up
Justin squeaks.
DRILL SERGEANT RODE (CONT'D)
WHAT DID YOU SAY PUNK?! SPEAK UP!!?
Rhode roughly grasps Justin's collar. A startled noise comes
from him. Pulling him up right on his feet and drawing him
face to face, Rhode asks the question again, but in a lower
and more sinister volume.
DRILL SERGEANT RODE (CONT'D)
Where's your organisation and
initiative boy? You never know who
will come and steal your stuff.
55.
JUSTIN
Sir yes - Uh, yes s- Uh, yes of
course.
DRILL SERGEANT RODE
OH MY GOD!!! IT'S DRILL SERGEANT!
JUSTIN
(checks turn crimson)
Yes si- Sorry sir... That is, drill
sergeant.
(voice breaks)
Sorry.
Rhode chuckles.
DRILL SERGEANT RODE
You think you're invincible Best?
Why made you think for you to join
the marine court? What makes you
qualify?
Justin fumbles with his words and looks all over the places.
He is cornered.
JUSTIN
I - I want to kill bad guys -
DRILL SERGEANT RODE
You want to be a G-I Joe?! Well?!
You ant't going to become one until
you learn to make your bed, and
lock up your room after wake up
call! Get it?!
Justin nods.
DRILL SERGEANT RODE (CONT'D)
I want your very Best, Justin Best!
You will never let that rest until
your better is the Best! Just like
your father!
Justin regains some ounce of his vigor, at the mention of his
father.
JUSTIN
Yes Drill Sergeant!
DRILL SERGEANT RODE
NEXT TIME, CHECK, LOOK LOCK AND
LEAVE! Got it?!
57.
JUSTIN
Yes Drill Sergeant! I will not do
it again!
Rhode just stares down at him for a little while longer then
leaves.
Few beats, Justin closes his eyes and raise his head and cups
his face in his hands.
JUSTIN (CONT'D)
(shame)
Oh God...
Some of the soldiers giggle as they walk past. Julian just
walks up to the kid smiling and lands firm hand on his
shoulder.
JULIAN
That's how the game rolls kid. Just
get use to it.
Pats him on the back two times as he leaves. Justin tries to
word the word 'thanks' but the patting cuts his breath out.
Poor Justin tries to clean up the mess and walks up to the
roof gawking at his now misplaced mattress. Justin looks
around unsure and nervous out of his mind.
JUSTIN
Ahh... A little here?
Ben offers a hand.
BEN
No sweat Justin. I'll help. Don't
worry about that guy. He's taken
one too many drugs. It's to stiffen
you up.
Ben and Justin take the mattress down. They carry it inside
and arrange it over the bed. Ben picks up the sheets and
Justin brings his bag over with Reggie carrying his clothes.
JUSTIN
Thanks guys. Thanks commander.
Ben winks at him smiling giving him a thumbs up.
BEN
No biggy.
58.
MARLOWE (CONT'D)
He's been, negotiating with the
JTTF that it is necessary that the
Proteus soldiers must take full
control of the Iraqi possession of
weapons of mass destruction in
underground bases where they areas
stored for use. I just want to make
this clear to you since we ought to
remain secretive in this matter as
intelligence could cancel the
operation entirely. I'm obligated
to do this with Coggins. You
promise me to not disclose this
information to anyone, not even to
your comrades What we found might
be detrimental to us all.
Ben nods.
BEN
Roger that. And thank you sir.
They shake hands. Marlowe holds on for a little bit too long.
His slim face almost makes him look sly and deceptive. He
forms a shrewd grin.
MARLOWE
My pleasure. Good luck Benjamin.
JOSHUA
Hi sir.
Pounders leans on another table.
POUNDERS
How are you Josh?
JOSHUA
Feel like I'm at college again.
(beat)
It's a dream.
Pounders grins.
POUNDERS
Indeed. Indeed. I told you I'll
accommodate for you here.
(beat)
You finding the task interesting?
JOSHUA
It's a breath of fresh air to me
sir... So much freedom. I don't
have conceal anything so - out-
there anymore.
POUNDERS
Your work will be very appreciated,
I assure you.
Three beats.
JOSHUA
You're sure there will be anyone at
the dig sites? I mean -
POUNDERS
There is already a German team
stationed there. They're excavating
the city of Uruk now. Bonner got
into contact with the lead
archaeologists and they are dealing
with flooding issues, as it is the
norm.
JOSHUA
You think al-Qaeda would want to
find the remains too?
Three beats.
62.
POUNDERS
It's dirty business Josh. If
anything, they will force their
Quran to fulfill its prophecies if
things go amiss. If they show up,
then they're asking for trouble. I
would not assume us American would
be the only ones looking for the
body. If the myths are true.
Joshua looks at his notes on the computer. On the screen is a
series of Google images of the Tomb of Osiris.
JOSHUA
Well, it's certainly a vigorous
myth then if the Egyptians
dedicated such efforts to venerate
it.
END OF ACT 2
63.
ACT 3
INT. DORMS
Garrow Howey rolls over on his bunk and reaches out
underneath the bed. He sneakily pulls out a brown paper bag
all rolled up. He unrolls it to reveal a white plastic bag,
filled with chocolate, candy and chips.
GARROW
After all the work, it's time to
have a party.
In his room is Ben, Julian, Laycock and Derek.
DEREK
Oh you got to be joking. Just
before we're about to be deployed.
Ben leans forward to look what's inside the bag.
BEN
Gee-dunk? No thanks. Not in the
mood brother.
Unable to resist the temptation, Jason Laycock reaches into
the bag.
GARROW
Go ahead buddy.
Laycock pulls out a Twinkly and unwraps it. He sticks it into
his mouth as Derek rolls his eyes.
LAYCOCK
(mouthful)
What?
Derek brushes his annoyance aside.
GARROW
Ahh. Loosen up Derek.
Derek nods.
DEREK
Okay then. You didn't need anything
to eat. You already had a bag full.
LAYCOCK
One piece wouldn't hurt. It's
called balance Fish.
64.
JULIAN
Yeah, that's true.
Garrow pulls out a packet of HoHos and gives a Star Crunch to
Julian. Garrow begins to eat the chocolate.
LAYCOCK
Hey Garrow, you want to tell us
that story about the last time you
came back from CATE.
Garrows swallows.
GARROW
Ah yes. Well, after the day of some
dangerous training, I was with some
of the crew in complete camo gear
with Ghillie Suit Woodland
Camouflage and all. So after the
coordinated battle, one of my mates
walked up to me and said, "Yo
Garrow, Katrina good tonight?" I
don't know what it was but a crazy
idea came into my head. Katrina,
you know, she was the girl in
college I had a mad crush on and I
never got the guts to ask her out.
Ben shakes his head with amusement and a broad smile across
his face.
BEN
Oh man this is priceless.
GARROW
But it was only until now, after
all the training, I was so thrilled
and reckless, I'd do anything to
get dat girl. So. I asked my mate
if Katrina is going to Club 108,
and lone behold, she was! Excited
out of my mind, I got myself into a
purple tuxedo with the hat, the
flower, the whole thing. So I get
to the club right,
Laycock is already trying so hard to hold back giggles in his
arm.
GARROW (CONT'D)
I put on these bear shoes with
these little white claws on them.
65.
GARROW (CONT'D)
I grab my stash of roses and comb
back my hair and marched right in
there to battle. Oh boy,
Laycock can't help himself burst out laughing. He spits.
GARROW (CONT'D)
Oh boy, those chicks were digging
me! They were digging so bad, I
thought they will distract me from
finding my own rose! Katrina... No.
No one was gettin my way!
Ben theatrically shoves Julian aside as he tries to reenact
the scene.
BEN
Move it ladies.
Garrow snickers.
GARROW
Oh man, I was too sexy for them
anyway.
The whole team burst out laughing and slapping their thighs.
Garrow tries to continue his story while trying hard to not
make himself laugh.
GARROW (CONT'D)
And! And!
Jason Laycock starts to bugging Garrow.
LAYCOCK
Ahuh, yeah, can I get one?
GARROW
A sec. So, now I spot her in my
cross-hairs right. She's there at
the bar drinking with her other
girlfriend. Taking the only chance,
got my roses, and slid right in
there on the dance floor with such
skill the girls were shocked. They
gasped.
LAYCOCK
Oh that's neat, how about now?
GARROW
Then I knelt down right there, and
gave her the roses. And that's how
I meet the girl of my dreams.
66.
GARROW
Pretty handy hey?
JULIAN
Yeah.
LAYCOCK
The guy could pass for an African
wrestler.
(beat)
What did he do again? Cav Manga?
BEN
Krav Maga. Its an Israeli martial
art.
As Ben is talking, Joshua enters the cabin in silence and
just listens.
BEN (CONT'D)
With his wrestling skills, he's the
beast on TV.
JOSHUA
You know martial arts developed for
the purpose to combat giants?
The men go silent for a second and whip their heads around to
look at Josh. Awkwardly, he smiles.
JOSHUA (CONT'D)
Ah -
DEREK
The bookworm has come out of his
cave!
They clap and pat Josh on the back. He cringes and just says
"it's nothing" drowned out by the sugar rushed and fired up
men. Garrow offers Josh some treats.
GARROW
What some Gee-dunk?
Josh thinks for a second.
JOSHUA
Just a small one.
He takes an few M&Ms.
BEN
And what about you Josh? I heard
you know Krav Maga.
68.
JOSHUA
I did take some classes many years
back.
Leans back on his bunk as he takes out his small journal.
JOSHUA (CONT'D)
Besides, I can handle myself just
fine.
Derek leans over to him.
DEREK
Tell me Josh, what's it like to be
a single archaeologists?
Josh turns from his journal and stares at Derek with an
impish face.
JOSHUA
Oh boy. Well, what makes me being
single so interesting to you Derek?
That's my proposition.
Derek lets his head up with a crackling laugh. The other guys
get interested to hear the banter.
JULIAN
Ah, there would be plenty to hot
chicks out in the field all the
time. You fancy anybody?
Josh just shrugs. He gives a wry grin at the thought.
JOSHUA
Just, haven't been too worried
about I guess.
(beat)
How about you? Any family?
DEREK
Got a sister. Little air force brat
she is. My father is a navy seal,
still in service. Don't see them
very much, they're not really
thrilled about my career. Well...
Josh tilts his head and bites his lip.
JOSHUA
Yeah nothing like me parents. I
understand what that's like Derek.
69.
DEREK
Yeah.
Laycock comes in.
LAYCOCK
Well, you know about my girlfriend?
JULIAN
(shocked)
That girl you meet two weeks ago in
Seattle? She's your girlfriend?
Laycock nods with a quirky smile plastered on his face.
LAYCOCK
Arya.
(dreamily)
She's perfect.
JULIAN
(amused)
You've been on like a few dates!
What's the rush?
LAYCOCK
I know its early, but she just -
has the qualifications for Mrs
Laycock. Her rounded face and her
tough build. Those hips. Man. She's
nerdy too.
GARROW
Didn't you meet at a strip club?
Laycock laughs.
LAYCOCK
At the gym. It was her friend that
goes to the strip club!
JULIAN
Gym? Same thing if you ask me.
The men laugh at the joke as Josh rolls his eyes sighing. He
buries his face in his book, embarrassed.
JOSHUA
(to himself)
You guys...
LAYCOCK
Yeah, that doesn't matter. She's
pretty strong - and petite.
70.
LAYCOCK (CONT'D)
You should have seen her on the
bench press. Wow... I noticed her,
then she noticed me. It killed me
man. You know what that's like
Julz. You have a wife don't you?
GARROW
Two kids yeh?
Julian nods.
JULIAN
Yup.
LAYCOCK
What's she like? Is she fit? How
did you meet her?
Ben looks over from the other-side of the room at Julian with
a concerned face knowing too well that they were about to
cross the line into sensitive territory.
Julian just looks down at the ground then raises his head
back up with a childish grin with head cocked to the side
slightly. His sideburns gleaming off the light giving him a
sort of halo.
JULIAN
Just made conversation.
LAYCOCK
Where about's did you meet?
JULIAN
On the line.
LAYCOCK
Oh, so you meet her on a dating
site eh?
JULIAN
Not really.
LAYCOCK
Well, okay what's her name then?
Ben starts to slowly walk over.
JULIAN
(amused grin)
Jason, that's all I got. You just
shut up now okay?
A bit thrown off, Laycock eases a bit.
71.
LAYCOCK
Well ah... I'll was just curious.
Three beats. Julian blinks and still maintaining his almost
careless posture, he finds a way of escape.
JULIAN
She's dead.
The atmosphere is poisoned. Everyone is silent. Even Ben is
put off. Julian is covering his tracks.
JULIAN (CONT'D)
(creepying)
She's dead, but - even so, it is
almost as if she was more alive as
ever.
(beat)
I meet her after Desert Storm in a
dream. An exquisite dream.
Something fantasy like. She's too
dangerous. She can't come here. The
only time when I meet here is in
bed, late at night. She just comes
from outside of the void. I was
frozen when I saw her. She just
come on top of me saying: "Unleash
the heat of battle my warrior."
LAYCOCK
(utterly dumbfounded and
horrified at the innuendo)
What?
Julian is still smiling. He's loving it.
LAYCOCK (CONT'D)
Dude, you sound a bit mad there eh?
You must have really loved her
then. You okay Julz?
Julian now starts to lose his mask of coolness.
JULIAN
You don't think I'm serious? You're
fooling with something - that you
should fool around with.
LAYCOCK
What? I'm not - We like madmen
around here anyway man.
72.
JULIAN
(slowly getting more tense
and aggravated)
But madman know nothing. They're
not themselves. They are incapable
of processing commands... You
saying I am mad!?
Put off at the strange behavior, Laycock shakes his head.
LAYCOCK
No. Certainly not in that way I -
Ben steps in to ease the potential disaster.
BEN
Okay, okay, party's over folks.
Better get ourselves to bed now.
Captain's orders. Come on.
Joshua looks up from his journal and at Julian with shock and
with intrigue. He scribbles something down.
Julian just gets up to his bed. It is all very awkward.
BEN (CONT'D)
Julz you alright buddy?
A complexion of amusement and perturbation as Julian throws
his sheets back roughly.
JULIAN
(sour and bitter)
Maybe I am mad. What does it matter
anyway.
DREAMSCAPE.
LONG SHOT of Casbolt all alone standing and looking away from
us. He looks at a gigantic pine tree - a hairy mass concealed
by deep shadows. Next to Casbolt is a small country home -
nostalgic and humble with a front porch with outdoor chairs
and a table. A breeze flows gently causing the wooden wind
chimes to clank with a lulling melody. The faint trickle of a
nearby stream can be heard in the peaceful silence of the
night. Casbolt looks around. He is overcome by a jiggly sense
of freedom. He twitches and closes his eyes. The rays of the
moon's cold beams illuminate the grassy meadow in a milky
glow so bright, that there was no need for a torch. No sign
of human activity. He was alone. In the wilderness. And he is
whole, peaceful and glad.
73.
The man slowly eases his crying. He sniffs and let's go.
QUARTZWING
Casbolt, you're a very interesting
Aos Sí. This is know. You have the
blood of the elves.
Casbolt nods.
CASBOLT
We're not so different after all.
Quartzwing manages to shyly smile. But it vanishes when he
stares up at the midnight sky, sparkling with the galaxy.
QUARTZWING
I miss her...
The dream begins to change and shift. Casbolt finds himself
inside the memories of Quartzwing.
A green skinned pointed eared woman appears out of the hazy
light. She looks older and stunningly beautiful. Her slanted
almond-shaped green eyes, birch tree colored hair like twigs
and her fairy-like dress of green, gold and lime with a
decolletage. Casbolt is fancied by her. She was magical
indeed.
QUARTZWING (V.O.)
(whisper)
Tá tú saor faoi dheireadh... A
mháthair... Bí ar do shuaimhneas
...
The scene shifts to Quartzwing flying fast and high above the
forests, wind blowing in his face. Smiling and soaring
through the air. He flaps his massive wings on the updrafts,
doing tricks and flips. There are roars of exhilaration.
Tears of joy.
Scene shifts to a very bright yet vague image of a woman with
auburn hair flying behind her like a horse' mane. She is in
an area that looks like a prehistoric Stonehenge site. On her
neck is a dowsing necklace pendulum. She turns her head
around. She is stunning.
QUARTZWING (V.O.) (CONT'D)
You will have an heir...
Another scene of Kate Casbolt crying.
QUARTZWING (V.O.) (CONT'D)
We're all on a quest for truth. And
that truth can ruin you.
76.
POUNDERS
Please shut the door and sit.
BEN
Yes sir.
They walk over to Pounders' computer screen with has a large
digital google map of Iraq accompanied by pin points and
regional data, with multiple helmet footage in certain areas
and villages. One that Ponuder's points at is Kut and Afak to
the east.
POUNDERS
This is where Frank's team:
SENTINELS are going. Sopher's team:
EAGLES are interested in going to
Eridu and Ur to stop by for
rendezvous with our other squads
from other immanent missions from
the coalition forces, before
heading to Warka.
Ben just looks up back at Pounders.
POUNDERS (CONT'D)
Now for your team - our team:
RANGERS, you will be stationed at
Samarra since Baghdad is out of the
way. We need to make sure the 75th
Ranger Regiment battalions are
assembled and ready so when we spy
out the location, they can come in
without much trouble.
BEN
Sir?
POUNDERS
The marines are already set in by
Kut to peg Baghdad lead by
SENTINELS. We hope that by May we
can reach Raytheon including
Tuwaithua.
BEN
Okay...
POUNDERS
It is a surreal time Ben over
there. There has been a change of
plans for us.
78.
POUNDERS (CONT'D)
The conventional forces in the
Shock and Awe Campaign were too
drastic and they lost there
mission, leaving Special Ops
leaders scrambling around for a
plan B. So, this is why I requested
your attendance. With our satellite
Merkabah, it will be guiding us
here as coordinating the trajectory
of our Tomhawk missiles cruise
mines, to strike on Baghdad. But we
are also need a very strategic
point to begin our invasion there.
(beat)
So we're going to hit Haditha Dam.
BEN
Haditha?
Pounders nods.
POUNDERS
It is the only main highway across
the Euphrates that provides hydro-
electric power that can essentially
benefit us, whilst cutting off any
resources and reinforcements for
enemy forces. But there's an
objective: the Iraqi forces are
threatening to sabotage the dam to
flood the town of Haditha nearby,
putting the lives of many innocent
people in jeopardy, if we do not
proceed to save them. So, to inform
you Ben, we need to go out there
first, to ready an ambush so we can
secure a prudent passage for the
SENTINELS to safely scout the
invading land.
Ben takes some time to take it all in.
BEN
Yes, sir. I have your orders.
Pounders slightly nods.
BEN (CONT'D)
How's it going with you? What you
up to now?
BRIANNA
(sighs)
Just in a middle of an
investigation. A manslaughter case.
A pizza man has just been shot by
an professorial undercover killer
on the run. This one can get bogged
down. People lose sight of the
victims, and in this case, these
Muslim women are victims. I told
them to make use of a sympathetic
ear once they got it.
(beat)
Ben... It's just the Islamophobia.
No one likes them. For good
reasons. You do your duty, I wish
you luck. I love you and...
(beat)
BEN (FILTERED)
Yeah, I love you too Bri.
After three beats as Brianna swallows and speaks with a
slightly croaky voice. She gives off a look of ambivalence.
Her mouth is slightly open as she releases that her case
could be related to Ben's mission in Iraq.
BRIANNA
But - Ben.
(beat)
Don't provoke them.
Ben hangs up. Brianna gives a small exhale of stress. She
puts the phone in pocket and puts a hand to her chin to
reflect. Her partner comes to her.
POLICE
Who was that?
BRIANNA
Just my husband.
They return back to the garage to continue their late night
investigation.
81.
DREAMSCAPE.
Ben is floating 20 feet above a mossy and verdant land. He
beholds before him: a might pillar, a soaring cedar, so tall
its top mingled with the clouds above. Amougst the dense
ancient forest the great cedar tree seemed to be the heart. A
blanket of roots radiated from the tree’s massive trunk,
covering the ground with bark veins, blood-vessels sustaining
the forest spanning an area at least 10 acres or more.
It presided over the surrounding cedars, fir trees and chest
nut trees like a benevolent patriarch. Its arching canopy - a
shadowing shroud - adorns its brilliance, supported by its
thick boughs of titanic tendons, overlapping one other. Its
height exalted above all the trees of the forest. Its
branches a city for millions of birds and animals. The leaves
thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much. Despite the
wondrous scenery, looking up at the colossal cedar, bigger
than any on earth, Ben apperceived a sentient psyche,
radiating from the trunk. It was as if it had its own
consciousness. A consciousness that is dormant. Slow moving,
as slow as the creeping of ice.
84.
He closes his eyes and sees the engraved images of the dream
flash before him in the mind. Then the thrashing head of the
red hair giant. The bitter sweet taste in his mouth from
sleeping makes him gitty. His exhilarated for some reason.
Once he climbs down the ramp, there will be no turning back.
His time has come. With renewed vigor and motivation, he
clasps his bag, shoots up on his feet and flings it on his
back in a swift manor. He felt like some unknown force,
perhaps the apparition from the dream, had infused him with
its own power to charge on. He knows deep down that he is at
the right place, at the right time, but he doesn't know what
it means for him exactly.
BEN
(over the engines)
Suit up! Let's go!
The soldiers groggily get up with their Colonels also barking
similar commands. We see Julian wake up and rub his eye and
get ready. Casbolt, who was reading Descent of Angels by
Mitchel Scanlon, places it down and also gets ready.
Walking down the ramp, Ben and his team stride down on the
runway. The sky is a galaxy of stars.
Samarra Airport, Iraq - March 29th
As the whole crew in all gear was off, the plane immediately
pulls out, turns around to depart the airport to get fuel to
head back home. The roar of the plane gets quieter and
quieter until the Shinar Crew remain in the dark in complete
silence, beside the random scrawl of wind and crickets. Some
of the soldiers switch on their helmet lights. In a circle,
the team say their last goodbyes before the split up.
BEN (CONT'D)
Alright guys, this might be the
last time we are all together for a
while.
The marines nod. Casbolt stares at Ben and as they are about
to depart, he hold out his hand.
CASBOLT
Good luck Commander. It's an honor.
Ben shakes his hand smiling.
BEN
You too, friend. You go kill some
bad guys Captain America.
88.
