PROLOGUE

EXT. FOREST. DAY


Jared and Danel power walk through the foliage. They are
breathless and in a hurry.
JARED
Menace to the Empire? I cannot
believe it. What grim fate has
stumbled upon us?

DANEL
You remember where it was? Jared?
Jared's posture turns stiff as he barricades Danel for going
any further. He carries the Asqulalu - Sunspit Mace - on his
back. Jared circles his head around in full alert. He inhales
greatly the wafting smell of cooking meat and smoke. The
aroma is too intense to ignore.
JARED
(whispering)
Smell that?
Danel nods. Still contemplating weather Seth's tales and
warnings were actually genuine. He was forced to come to
terms to his dire situation. But as things were unfolding,
not only where they in grave danger, but their family, the
innocent villagers - Huldah!
The brothers follow the game trail and approached a copse of
juniper trees. Over the ravine, in the distance, blanked in
the morning fog, slithered a wispy pillar of smoke and the
slight muffle of voices and the noticeable rumbles of a
larger and deeper voice. As the boys observe from above at
the campsite, about a hundred yards away, they notice a large
shadow of a giant man amongst the haze.
Jared, blown away, studies his brother for any suggestions.
Without a word, Danel rushes up the other away, followed by
Jared to get back to the village. Due to the fog, they could
not tell if the campsite held mere soldiers, Lahmu, Nephilim
or even Nephilim of the Dragon Court. The boys break into a
fierce dash, running with frustration, fear and adrenaline.
They scrambled through the forest until Danel in front trots
to a stop, not even tired due to the antediluvian world
having more oxygen. Humans can do more things without getting
tired like running for longer periods of time. Jared stops
with ease with Hajji Firuz Tepe close by.

JARED (CONT'D)
You spread the word. I will talk
with father.
Danel nods and they push on.
Jared bursts inside Mahalalel's wine press. The father is in
mind stride. He is 180 years old and still looks 30.
MAHALALEL
What's the matter Jared?
Jared lowers his head.
JARED
Do you remember the band of city
traders that came here?
MAHALALEL
Indeed, what is it with them?
JARED
They're servants of the gods. They
saw this valuable mace that Danel
and I discovered and just
yesterday, the traders fled, only
to arrive again today. The
strangers this morning, arrived
with a small caravan of soldiers
camped a few leagues to the north
west. Danel and I identified them
by accident while trying to return
the mace. Might they be coming here
to find it?
(beat. He gets distressed.
He complains)
Father - what to I do?!
Mahalalel bows his head. He knew that this day would come,
that the Empire would find his family again. It was only a
matter of time. He sighs, rubs his face and fingers his
beard.
MAHALALEL
Oh Jared, you know what they did to
your mother. It is time...
He places his hands on his shoulders.
MAHALALEL (CONT'D)
They will stop at nothing to
dismantle our liberty. Your
grandfather, listen to him - every
word he speaks. Fly from Hajji.
(MORE)

MAHALALEL (CONT'D)
With Danel. Fetch some food from
the house,
Mahalalel gets up and while he is talking, gathers food and
packs from travel. Jared keeps his eyes on him.
MAHALALEL (CONT'D)
Then take my mare Sililu from your
uncle Mered - tending the flock,
and ride with your brother into the
foothills. Once we know what the
soldiers want, we will send uncle
Enan and to relay a report.
JARED
If they attack, what then?!
Mahalalel places bags of flat matzah bread, fruit and
vegetable bags with water and pauses.
MAHALALEL
Let us have hope son. They might
ask for you or Kenan to come forth.
The patriarchs will confront them
to reveal the outsiders true
intentions. At best, Jared,
according to the words of Kenan,
flee to Mt Sahand, cross the lake
and there abide. Then, we will slip
away and make sure the Kheruba are
acquainted with your arrival,
promising to tend to you. And we
will remain guiding and protecting
the village. If all goes amiss -
well, we will meet with you there,
in time. It will be okay, the
Kheruba are very hospitable.
JARED
But what of you?! They might raze
the whole village! For my sake, I
don't want to bear the guilt!
Please father, I want to stay! If
the king has word of the mace's
position, then bring me forth, and
he can take me instaed!
MAHALALEL
(voice breaks)
Jared, I am sorry you had to live
to see such asperities and dark
times... You know your destiny is
not in my hands...
(MORE)

MAHALALEL (CONT'D)
Trust in Heaven's will, and you
will be preserved son. You bear the
Chosen Seed in your loins. The
Savior is inside you. The gods want
you as good as dead, or, at the
very least, your manhood castrated.
Jared immediately cringes at his own argument, as well as the
prospect of losing his manhood of course. His argument was
fallible and incoherent to reason. He realised he was just
reacting off pure arbitrary whim from the stress.
JARED
(sighs)
You are right father... Forgive me.
I'll make haste.
Jared takes his supplies and blankets and turns out the door.
He looks to his father as he steps out. They stare at each,
Mahalalel smiles wryly. Jared departs.
The supplies were an awkward bundle in Jared's arms. He
arrives at Mered's pasture where he is in an animal
enclosure, carrying two horse by a rope and circling the
sheep.
JARED (CONT'D)
Uncle Mered, we need to speak!
MERED
Bless you Yared. Hello!
Points at Sililu.
JARED
I need to borrow her.
Jared mounts the white horse and spurs her along towards the
west. Jared gallops along the foothills of the Zagros alone,
with much grace. Lake Urmia glitters on his right side. LONG
SHOT of the Lake as we see Jared gallop towards the hills to
our right.
CUT TO:
Jared and Danel with their horse tied up on trunks nearby at
a small campsite watching over the valley with the village in
the distance. It is evening. A black mass of soldier snake up
the trail, who are spurred from behind on by a towering
Nephilim. He is only a teenager. The imperious posture and
regalia of gold made Jared and Danel assume that it might be
a young member of the Dragon Court. He seemed to be around 35
feet tall! He was pale white and gray, and his cranium of his
brain mass is exaggerated and large like an alien.

It is not elongated but flat, circular and wide like a basin.


The adolescent boys are watching from the north west. The
lake's long shore a blanket of navy blue to the left and the
soldiers pouring in the village from the right, which is from
the south east.

EXT. VILLAGE. EVENING


Soldiers, in simple grey uniforms and helmets with sword
straps to their belts carrying simple shields enter into the
now alarmed village. Families and people are now at the
thresholds overseeing the ruckus. A soldier carries a banner
that has an inverted swastika symbol on it but it has four
dots inside the four squares.
Parting the chaos, Mahalalel, Enan, Mered, frail Enosh (540)
who looks 50 and Seth - who is the elder at an astonishing
723 looks in his late 60s early 70s, wearing the golden
fleece walks through. The villagers are murmuring at them.
VILLAGER
Eh! It is because of you, prideful,
holier than thou, Seth, that the
Empire is here!
Seth holds up his hand.
SETH
Peace. We have more troubling
matters.
VILLAGER 2
You're no blessing!
MAHALALEL
The Empire is here!
VILLAGER 3
You brought them here you fools!
VILLAGER 4
Be gone with you!
The villagers turn in onto the patriarchs like a stampede.
Huldah slips through the door as swift as a gazelle and gawks
at the uproar, rare in such a rural mountain village. She
puts a hand on her mouth at the sight of the soldiers and the
crazed villagers. She makes a bewildered moan.
KENAN
Huldah!

She turns back inside. Kenan is on a chair with a walking


stick because of his missing leg.
KENAN (CONT'D)
What's happening out there?
HULDAH
Shh. Be still. Father might come
in.
KENAN
(ashamed)
No. Listen.
HULDAH
Peace Kenan!
KENAN
Has the Empire come for me? Oh,
wretched man that I am... Hide me
woman! Shield me!
Huldah tries to steady and soothe him despite the chaos
outside.
HULDAH
Shh. Kenan, I will. Everything is
going to be okay.
Kenan shake his head. His eyes are agate balls of intense
fury.
KENAN
No, I know better than that lass. I
have stared into the eyes of Enlil
himself - voids of cosmic horror.
Cold and scaring to my soul as
hellish scorches. His smile is a
snarling wolf. They know Asqulalu
is here. They know it well. They
will show no mercy -
(beat. His eyes widen and
he holds on her shoulders,
tense)
Where's dear Jared?! Tell me!
To calm the chaos, the 35 foot titan strides pass. His
presence alone, makes the villages still and tremble. This is
the source of his power: his supreme stature.
COMMANDER
Let en Asakku's voice be heard!!!

Everyone is silent at the looming and booming Asakku,


towering over the patriarchs as the crowd backs away with
fear and reverence. The patriarchs have no fear of this
Nephilim. His skin is ghastly white, his cranium oversized.
His build is hulking, his face though small and a bit
shriveled, has cat slanted eyes and reptilian like slits. His
bald head gleams with oil. He has occultic tattoos over his
body as well as the insignia of the gods: the swastika. He
has a strange looking staffed ax on his back and six fingers
and six toes with nails long and pointed. It is an awful
sight. It is both astounding and confronting.
Asakku eyes at the resistant group with a sense of laid back
imperiousness, like a man not noticing an insect he was about
to squash on a path.
Seth steps forward in faith and strikes his staff on the
ground.
SETH
(with authority and slight
mocking)
So, at last the elusive Utukku
garbed the courage to come forth
from behind his walls!
Asakku just exhales a thunderous deep groan. That alone, made
some of the children scream and cry and people whimper and
flee.
ASAKKU
When a duty arises, it must be
done.
(beat)
Have no fear, villagers of Hajji
Firuz Tepe. The king has only
requested one thing, and it would
be a pity for you to fall under the
sword, to fail hearkening to his
decree.
MAHALALEL
And what does this king want with
us?
Asakku scowls at him.
ASAKKU
King Alulim detects outlaws in your
village have in their possession,
property that belongs solely to the
Annunaki.
(MORE)

ASAKKU (CONT'D)
It was taken by Kenan ben Enosh - I
believe who is not present here,
still lives among you now. Our
request is that these people come
forth in peace, and hand over the
crystal Asqulalu of Hreidmar.
(beat)
And have Kenan arrested for
breaking the Divine Law.
There is silence. In the room, Kenan is hearing the
conversation and is praying fervently to God.
SETH
You came a day too late Asakku. Two
traders who are strangers to this
village took the mace from Kenan,
thinking it will benefit their
profession for its glorious
craftsmanship and worth, was too
alluring to resist. They just
departed in the early hours of the
day.
The titan narrows his dark slanted eyes with suspicion.
ASAKKU
Did these strangers acquaint you
with the course of their travel?
SETH
Towards Habuba Kabira and to the
lowlands of the Silver mountains. I
know this but, please, spare their
lives for they are innocent and
have no idea that what they
possess, is dangerous and sole the
property of the king. They have no
idea, for these are covetous men.
Please, if you should pursue them,
and they should give the mace to
you, take it without much
bloodshed.
Asakku remains frozen on the spot, eyeing the patriarch.
ASAKKU
You perceive we have mistaken our
cause here, when the gods above us
are on our side. It seems to be
trifling that trickery such us your
tongue, would be a very likely to
convince us, U-Anne-dugga.

Seth steps back. This is impossible. The villagers begins to


panic. The soldiers begin to slowly walk closer to them and
besieging them.
Enosh looks at his father with anxiety. Asakku begins to
pace.
ASAKKU (CONT'D)
(smirking)
You underestimate the power of the
gods. I can probe everyone in this
village - their consciousness and
thoughts, all of it. They can taste
all your fear. And it is a delight.
The uneasy villagers begin to get nervous and try and run
back home.
ASAKKU (CONT'D)
I discern when someone lies and
when someone is absent. Yes, my
friend, two people are gone,
Kenan with his face in his hands.
ASAKKU (O.C.) (CONT'D)
but your father Enmebulugga, is
here right now.
Kenan with shock jolts his head up.
ASAKKU (CONT'D)
(in his mind)
Get out of the house, criminal of
the Abzu.
Kenan slowly gets out of his chair. Huldah tries to calm him.
KENAN
No, I must go. I have nothing to
lose. I've lost all.
Seth swallows.
SETH
(more careful)
My two grandchildren are going
hunting en.
Asakku examines the group at his feet with much caution. He
kneels and rests his right arm on his right knee to bare down
at the men with a closer look. The titan is trying to run
down Seth and his family's mental barriers.

Four beats as we can see the strain in the patriarchs. Asakku


sneers and laughs, sounding like a ruk-ruk sound in his
throat.
ASAKKU
You are resisting my probe. Cease
this now, as I detect the
retraction of knowledge for my
mission. What enigma are you
withholding form me?
Kenan steps out.
KENAN
We are trained to have sound minds
fallen one! We keep to ourselves
and nothing else!
Four beats, as the soldier draw out their swords and Asakku
gets back up to his full height, while locking his animistic
eye on Kenan his prey.
ASAKKU
If you don't satisfy our needs,
then Kenan is mine.
A villager howls and slams a soldier in the head cracking his
skull open with an ax.
VILLAGER 5
Bastards! All of you! Git out!
The mob skirmish begins. The villager that started the fight
is smitten down by a sword. The patriarchs are pushed away as
Kenan is rushed by soldiers.
Kalbum and his family are amongst the skirmish. The father
Kalbum is trying to protect his kids and family from the mob
and soldiers. A soldier pushes him back.
SOLDIER
Clear!
Some of the soldiers begins to pull at his wife and his
children.
KALBUM
What are you doing!!
Kalbum swings a staff at the soldier and bashes him up.
To cease the uproar, Asakku puts his hand forward. Kalbum is
whisked off the ground and flies right into the giant's right
hand, as weak as an action figure.

The crowd ceases and rubbernecks at the poor man now in the
grasp of a giant. They scream and gasp.
Kalbum's wife Radjni, cannot believe it. She struggles with
the soldiers.
RADJNI
NOOO!
BEK
FATHER!
Kalbum howls and struggles in the giant's fist.
KALBUM
NO! NO! NO! PLEASE! DON'T EAT ME!
PLEASE!
Kenan and the patriarchs yell for peace at the top of their
voices.
KENAN
Stop this now, Asakku! Is my
presence not enough? Take me
instead of that innocent man!
The soldiers pin him down. Enosh finds it horrifying to see
his son get arrested.
KENAN (CONT'D)
Argh. Put him down! Please! I
admit! I'll reap what I sowed.
Asakku grimaces and studies Kalbum panicking in his hands
wondering if he should eat him raw or cook him.
KALBUM
No, no, no, no! GAHAH! Give me some
air en. Huah!
ASAKKU
I have already made up my mind
Kenan. This village is now under
lockdown, until further
investigation can be performed. In
the meantime,
(he sniffs Kalbum)
Your interrogation should be swift
as your plea of honesty indicates
so. Then I will not grow so hungry,
as Igigi do very often.

The giant thunders off with Kalbum squirming in his hand.


Halduh rushes towards Radjni and her children to comfort
them.
Kenan is then taken away by the soldiers to their camp
outside the village.
ENOSH
Son, you cannot do this.
KENAN
Don't weep for me father - weep for
Adam's children.
The soldier hits him and shoves him away from his fathers.
Kenan hops his way on one leg.
ENOSH
Your stick!
SOLDIER
Move on, scum!
SOLDIER 2
Hurry up, come on!
Since Kenan is disabled, they drag him through teh ground.

EXT. HILLOCK. EVENING


At the camp, Jared is constantly on edge as he paces around.
Danel watches as the giant and the soldiers begin to surround
the whole village and camp outside it. Danel shakes his head.
DANEL
They're watching them too closely.
I don't think Enan will arrive.
We're on our own now Jared.
Suddenly, the stallions get nervous and start to whine.
JARED
Sililu, it's okay.
Behind the trees, there is a slight rustle. The mares do not
seem to calm down. Danel comes over help too.
DANEL
This is odd.
JARED
What?

A rock about the size of an orange is tossed and it hits


Jared's packs. Alarmed, Danel zips his head towards the
source.
JARED (CONT'D)
Oi!
DANEL
(serious)
Get on, now.
Saddling his horse Jared is confused.
JARED
Where?
A few wood knocks are here not too far away amongst the
unknown wilderness.
DANEL
Hurry!
The boys saddle their horses and pack up the camp fast. They
are off, trying to outrun whatever creatures were causing the
disturbance. As they are galloping away down east towards the
lake, a deep siren like howl echoes across the valley. Dogs
in the villages begin to bark crazily. The siren groaning
repeats multiple times as the boys - silent in concentration
on reining the horses - come to the realisation that they
have been watched.
Asakku stops in his path right outside the tent on the
outskirts of the village, as he hears the howls of his Lahmu.
He lifts up his head towards his right.
CUT TO:
The boys on the two mares neck to neck, sprint at their full
speed. They race across the wetlands situated near the banks
of Lake Urmia. In the pre flood world, this lake is not salty
and is full of life. The wind whips the boys' cloaks like
flailing flags in a tempest.
With Asqulalu strapped onto his back, Jared with a hard face
of concentration, tucks his head in as he grasps the reins of
his white mare.
Passing trees and leaves and brush is a blur. But running
among this deep tangled gloom, is grassy Brunswick green
arms, legs, limbs and inhuman rushing movement.
Jared breaks through the gate of trees with Danel. He takes
one quick look behind.

The Runners of the Woods - they seemed to slip out of the


thin air or from the bushes and grass like brown phantasms.
Jared makes a note to never look back, but to ride on! The
horses neigh slightly with trepidation, but the boys drive
their heels in to keep going faster.
Galloping madly into the low wetlands and everglades,
TRAILING LONG SHOT of the boys and about six dark pursuers
flying on the earth, catching up.
Scouring through the everglades at an unfathomable speed, is
what looks like an wraith. Head and shoulders down like a
bike rider, racing at speeds so inhumanly fast, arms flailing
back and forth in mere milliseconds, surely it will reach the
stallions to snag them. A gibberish, horrific vocal blares
from the creature's mouth.
The stallions growl in anxiety. Danel whips his head around
on his side to behold, another hairy man racing through the
tall everglades, merging with much agility. Its mouth is
streaming trails of saliva as it snarls and croaks with a
demonic deep sound to stun the horses.
At last, they race through another cluster of trees. The
wraiths scatter to intervene and weave between the trunks and
the branches. Specks of mud begin to spit out from below as
the ground is becoming more muddy - danger for the mares,
convenient for the runners.
The boys begin to separate through the juniper and marsh
trees. Simultaneously, as Jared takes a turn to the left he
merges side to side with a runner - an ape man of 7 feet tall
- Danel turns to the right as a runner zips past to get in
front of him by surprise.
The swinging hairy arms and rolling legs of another Lahmu
explodes through a thicket to cut Danel off leaping through
with bursts of speed. As swift as a cheetah, Danel's grey
stallion Torna makes a skillful turn. The hominid yelps with
a dreadful cry of a wounded man - he missed his prey. Behind,
more drones of heinous vocals of the apemen as three more
appear right on Danel's tail.
Jared looks over his shoulder as he sees his brother now
being closed in through a screen of green. With a shout, he
diverts his course and just in time, leaps into the path of a
hominid about to reach for his brother. He swings Asqulalu
over his shoulder in mid air and collects the creature on the
head. With a gnarly crash the hominid stumbles on itself from
the momentum, as Sililu lands with grace and surprises the
pursuers, grunting and chattering like Samurai warriors.
Together, the boys reassure each other and slipping the mace
on his back, Jared leads the way bursting through the brush.
15.

The harsh branches slash at their faces as they explode into


another marsh clearing, this time, a long desolate sandy
foreshore.
Gliding on the wind, the Lahmu seemed to grow shifty larger,
and darker as their paths converges with theirs. The sky is
now heavy in grey of the sun setting. TRAILING LONG SHOT as
they are about seven Lahmu in total now, all in view closing
in on the horses. They are around 6 to 7 and a half feet
tall.
CLOSE UP of a Lahmu's gorilla face. Covered in hair with a
low brow ridge, a large nose and blaring flat teeth. It makes
a shrieking scream, in sync to its inhuman strides and wide
arching spread of its arms.
Danel and Jared look on both sides: Lahmu surrounding them
making a clamor of noises.
One Lahmu with large protruding lips, reaches out its black
hand for Jared. He stares at the leathery black hand with a
sickly face.
DANEL (CONT'D)
(quick and urgent)
Yĕhovah charaph 'attah!
Mud begins to slow the horses and the Lahmu surround them.
Right on the shallow shores of the lake, the mares splash in
the green water, foaming beneath them. They ride up a small
hill with swamp trees, the mud is getting worse and slippery.
Jared pulls his stallion desperately around a tree sharply
just as a lurching Lahmu misses him with a swipe of his
hooked arm.
Danel diverts the same. The Lahmu rummages through the brush,
fur caked in mud. The horses panic and groan. A Lahmu grabs a
tree truck and swings around to surprise Danel as his
stallion maneuvers around pass another tree with skill. Jared
does the same as a Lahmu tries to cut him off by surprising
him too.
They leap over a fallen log with Lahmu right behind.
DANEL (CONT'D)
GO!
A Lahmu swings from a tree roaring, desperately to with
figures out to collect Danel.
A gale cascades from the North-east of the Lake, as the
horses glide in the air about to land - they never touch the
ground.

After a few seconds, white Silliu and grey Torna, jerk back
at the forceful thrust. Expecting to take in the friction of
landing, the boys were skimming inches above the ground at
supernatural rocketing speed, gliding with the wind. Out of
the corner of Jared's squinting eyes from the ferocious
shrilling gale, the cold piercing like a spear he caught
dreamy glimpses of fair men, wispy in the air, with arms out
as if to push him. Flashes of white cloud dance around him as
if he was on the wings of the wind. Their visions seem to
blur.
The Lahmu holler and splash in the water confounded.

INT. HUT. NIGHT


Back at Hajji, Mahalalel, Enosh and Seth with their wives sit
discussing with each other in fellowship about the crisis.
And most importantly, the whereabouts of Jared and Danel,
Kenan's trial, the strange howls and why King Alulim
dispatched Asakku.
MAHALALEL
All the way from Jericho, the
journey is over 17,000 leagues, not
to mention trekking over the hills
and mountains. Come on father,
there has got to be a valid reason
as to why the king would send the
Utukku over yonder to our worthless
winery.
ENOSH
They would stop at nothing to get
the mace. Even if they go beyond
standard measures and risk doing
the unpredictable.
SETH
We cannot stay here much longer my
children. We are branded - hot
branded outlaws and hypocrites. We
will either run out, or be run out.
MAHALALEL
Well, we can't just sit here like
rocks. What are we to do now? We
must help Kenan. He has suffered
more calamity than any other human,
from his missing leg to his little
girls forever abducted by those
revolting Cainites.

SETH
(sighs)
Of course, we will never cease
interceding for the safety of
Kenan, the village and the boys.
But our top priority is to get
ready and stay put until any reason
is given otherwise.
Enan bursts through the doors panting, horrified and out of
breath. They set him down. Enan attempts to word something,
but his voice fails him. Then, screams of women howl across
the village along with the footsteps of a group of people
outside. With a sweat covered brow, shaking lips and stunned
eyes, Enan finally speaks.
ENAN
(weak and monotone)
Kalbum is dead.
His mouth remains open in shock, his eyes look heavy as he
slightly sways.
Enosh at his side, closes his eyes and covers his face in his
hand. Kenan's wife Dinah curses under her tongue.
Nevertheless, the verbal monolith of ambivalence shrouds the
room in a metaphysical shadow of despair at the loss of a
close neighbor. It takes a few uneasy seconds until Seth
breaks the silence.
SETH
How?
ENAN
During Kenan's integration, Radjni
slipped away and snuck in to
eavesdrops on the proceedings.
Mahalalel smiles and closes his eyes as he shake his head.
MAHALALEL
That woman is reckless and strong.
ENAN
While she was attempting to cover
her tracks, she bumped into a
soldier who, happened to fancy her,
assumed that if sooner than later,
her husband was already food and
that she was free to his bond in
marriage. Now, the soldier flirts
with the girl and I am witnessing
such an event. Remaining put, I let
fly a shout.
(MORE)

ENAN (CONT'D)
The soldier draws his sword and
Radjni strikes him; in the shin
unawares mind you. The commotion
gets bigger as I flee but, poor
Radjni.. Oh, the vile evil they
brought out from Askkau's bone
fire...
(gulps)
As if they perceived her purpose of
being here, in haste, the soldiers
hearkened to her. She wanted her
Kalbum back.
(beat)
She got bones.
Mered, his brother's eyes widen.
MERED
Bones?
ENAN
Every one of them was nibbled
clean. Many freshly crushed from

An explosion cracks into the air. Then rapid fire popping
bangs along with sounds of terrorised villagers running
outside surround the house. Hues of orange and red flicker
outside the window. The patriarchs look at each other in
silence. They rush outside without a word and turn the corner
to behold - a conflagration of licking flames, brewing from
the huts and shops. Soldiers have their arm grenades ready on
an arbitrary rampage. The open fire at the huts and all
things that resemble human civilization. In terror, some
people are even shot and caught on fire running around
aimlessly with flailing arms.
CUT TO:

INT. TENT
Kenan hops as he is shouting at the top of his lungs as the
soldier hold him back furiously.
KENAN
NO! YOU MONSTERS! I WOULD NEVER
WITNESS FALSELY!
SOLDIER SOLDIER 2
HALT! Git back in there! ENOUGH! Shut up!
Kenan falls back on his hand from his severed leg.
KENAN
(strained on verge of
tears)

are such orders begin carried?!
One of the soldiers leans over him.
SOLDIER

EXT. BURNING VILLAGE. NIGHT


Seth raises a pike.
SETH
Defend your homes!
Leading the charge, Seth with his golden fleece trailing
behind like a leader of a pride of lions. Mahalalel, Mered,
Enan and the a mob of 20 to 30 other villagers with weapons
all kinds charge at the soldiers.
Enosh darts forward and swings a hammer catching a sentry on
the shoulder with a grisly crunch.
Soldiers fire at villagers only to stumble back from another
soldier running away, shoving him aside. Azura - the wife of
Seth - dances past with a sickle in hand. There are
incoherent shouts and fumbling soldiers. Bek, Irrara and
Sangasu wielding weapons they smash the soldiers in the heads
with crumbled sounds.
The neighing of chivalry is heard as a duel of horsemen storm
in, indiscriminately running over villagers in the darkness,
with the flames on the houses as light.
Mahalalel wrestles the shield off a limp soldier's arm as the
horsemen approach galloping closer. The soldiers curve their
swords down at villagers all around them. Without time to
think and with a mere reflex, the calvary passes and the
sword swings. Mahalalel catches it with his shield with a
lurid FLINK just in time as he activates the dead soldier's
grenade arm and shots at the second horseman. It files to the
side. The horse screaming with an agonising wail. Mahalalel
yells as he picks up his ax, and hurls it in hand at the
first horse. It rears up as the blade lands in its flesh. It
falls backwards, crushing the soldier.
Seth gets to his grandchild.
SETH (CONT'D)
Come on, we must save Kenan!
Dull, thunderous footsteps are heard. It's over. Asakku
cascades in with wrath.
21.

Wisely, the patriarchs flee with other panicking villages at


the giant storms in the burning town, running it clean,
ceasing the battle in seconds with the swing of his demonic
weapon. He stomps on houses roaring and rolling around,
flattening the village completely like a child playing in
foam packaging. Escaping the carnage, the patriarchs run to
the empty houses to grab their supplies and flee for the
hills.
KENAN (V.O.)
It is a token of my stupidity.
CUT TO Kenan who now has a bloody brow, staring away at
something in the distance. The wind blows with his family on
the outskirts of town with their bags. They overlook the
carnaged village, in smoke officially sacked.
KENAN
(sighs)
It is not just about Asqulalu. It
is the prophecy. They rage over
their doomed eternity, the
reprobates they are. We must at all
costs protect young Jared. The gods
will retaliate, so we must be
vigilant.

EXT. SAHAND WILDERNESS. DAY


Travel worn Jared and Danel on horseback as they approach the
awesome spectacle. They are in a field of poppies and we pan
and see them beholding, a landscape of miles and miles of
gulches and deep river valleys surrounded by dense thick
forests. The mountains and peaks rise on high with the white
dome of Sahand - the volcano - dominating the view. It is
simply spectacular like a painting. The sun is bright, giving
the world vibrant colors of a warm spring.
A meadow lies before them, downhill towards the tree line
with meaged underbrush. Two figures stand on the edge of the
of the forest and two run out of the boughs of a gnarled oak.
They bore long spears with light blue and silver blades,
while some have bows. The men look jovial. They raise their
weapons and we hear them cheer.
Hordes of Bumblebees hover with delicate flight patterns over
a strewn of more poppies as well as pink roses, lilies,
bluebells - spiring's treasures of heaped gems, over the top
of purplish dark volcanic soil. To the right, a mountain
stream trickles between a row of rocks. The air is
therapeutic. It is a divine blessing.

people around 30, are having a good time cheering. They turn
on the radio to the channel that does the countdown and
music. They view of the golden shimmering skyline.
CROWD
10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1... HAPPY NEW
YEAR!
Montreal, Canada - January 1st 2003
The Montreal skyline is completely aglow with flashing
fireworks. The crowd cheers and everyone hugs each other. A
sense of nostalgia and home.
Brianna DePaula - a Carey Mulligan look alike. She has her
black hair curled and she wears a nice dress and is laughing
with her friends with a glass of wine in hand.
Kleno Butcher (mid 30s) in a fine suit and bow tie comes over
to Brianna. He clears his throat. The pretty girls turn to
him along with Brianna.
Butcher raises his glass.
BUTCHER
(Canadian accent)
Oh there you are.
Brianna gives a nervous grin.

Silhouettes of the two as the firework explode. Rack focus to
the fireworks. They erupt rapidly as if they are missiles,

reaches his ear.

Casbolt turns and his face spreads in a relieved smile. He
stands up excitedly.
CASBOLT

They laugh and hug.
CASBOLT

The two sit down at the end of Casbolt's bunk.

Sarion sighs and looks away at the wall. Five beats. Sarion
reaches into his pocket and pulls out a chain and locket. He
opens it to reveal a very old, fussy and dark grey and black
image of his wife Mendeleise Lola Diane de Poitiers. She
looks like Lola Bessis. She is not smiling but her face
radiates such a gentle and delicate innocence. She regains
her gorgeous and angelic bloom at her late twenties through
her raised and slender head, tall and willowy, in her elegant
and fancy light purple lace dress with a straw hat tied with
a pretty ribbon. Small strands of her curly hair, dangle like
tangled bramble. Her photo is so captivating, it is hard to
not stop beholding her. Sarion slowly rubs the photo under
her chin with affection. He forms a small warm smile.
SARION
Everytime, before every war I
fought in, I would take this and,
ponder on her. It takes me back to
the perfect place. The places that
can only exist in the imagination.
It was the only way for me to cope
when bearing the feeling of guilt
while being unable to escape the
system, knowing that I am serving

As Sarion speaks this, he sensually bridges his fingers


together over the locket. His skin tingles at the sensation.
Casbolt stares at the locket. He flares his nostrils and
looks away.
CASBOLT
(frustrated at himself)
That's the thing Sarion. I have
nothing to hold on too. I have no
anchor. It's so bland.
SARION
(still peaceful in the
moment)
It doesn't have to be that way.
CASBOLT
I'm not you Sarion.
He gently pushes the locket of Lola away from him.
CASBOLT (CONT'D)

(beat)
My inheritance is set. I can block
it out all I want, but eventually I
will still end up as the king of
the Thua De Danann.
Sarion looks unsure now. He knows how much blood, tears and
sweat it took for Casbolt to reach his inevitable place in
life - a king slave. Deluded to think he is free, exposing
lies, but can never seem to follow the way out as he leads
others to it. But what good would that do for Casbolt if he
cannot free himself from fate's grim toll. Cabsolt looks up
at the sky.

Sarion comforts him as Casbolt buries his face in his hands.
SARION
You forgot something Mike.
Casbolt doesn't reply.

As if by realisation, Casbolt rises his head from his hands.

Joshua Emmanuel (mid 30s) is a sun kissed skinned, scrappy
guy with black hair and a 3 week old bread, wrapped in Arabic
attire strolls down the hall of the mosque with a hastily
pace. In it there are 40 mihrābs (prayer niches) of the 40
arch-saints. He approaches one of the Palestinian supervisors
of his archaeological team. The supervisor carries a
notebook, wearing khaki attire with a hat. Accompanying the
dig, are a squad of Druze guards. There presence suspects
something is fishy and illegal going on.
SUPERVISOR
Maghārat al-Dam...
JOSHUA

Turkish ascent)
You got something in there?
The supervisor nods.
SUPERVISOR
A new chamber has been found.
(gestures)
Quickly.
The two descend the 5 foot wide pit brimmed with smashed
tiles. They lower themselves down one by one. Once down in
the musky cavern, a digger hands them over torches. The
soldiers come done not long after also flicking on their
spotlights atop their guns.
SUPERVISOR (CONT'D)
Follow me Yosh.
After a time of navigating the cramping caverns, rough
terrain of the cave, weaving around rocks, the team finally
approaches a newly breached hole in the gnarly rocky wall.
About two diggers with dusty buckets full of debris and
holding pickaxes are moved aside.
SUPERVISOR (CONT'D)
You can see, ant'it?
Joshua nods.
JOSHUA
Yes I do.
(beat)
Let's go in.

After a series of more hewing at the wall, the hole is now


large enough for the men to slip through. The dark chambers
beyond, hidden from man, echoes with the rustle of the men
slipping through. The soldiers point their lights forward
like jointed thin rays drastically weaving back and forth.
Joshua and the supervisor are behind the soldiers that go
forth. The silence is deafening. The darkness is so dark no
one can see their hands in front of them except the dim
lights of the soldiers.
SUPERVISOR
Turn on the light.
As Joshua stays behind while the squad and the supervisor
with some diggers go forth, he waits and tries to feel the
torches to figure how to turn it back on. It takes a while.
As the soldiers creep forward in the deepest black, pebbles
clink, as in front of them is an unknown void in time and
space. Slowly and sneaky as it was, a faint cracking growl is
heard - eerie like a purring lion. Four beats. Suddenly, out
of thin air, a hissing vroom blares, as into existence comes
forth a pointed flaring orange sword. It spits light angrily,
shrouding the 7 foot tall metallic robotic figure in a
ghastly light from below, the shadows still conceals its
features, making it look ghoulish. It seems to have a head
with a streaming golden mane. His breastplate shimmers with
tinges of colors of gem like buttons - three rows of three.
The figure just stands there, as the animistic growl become
more and more intense like an engine.
The soldiers with their guns train on the figure, for a
second, they stare at it in shock. Joshua looks up from
fumbling with the torch, mouth drooping. They all fire.
DRUZE GUARD
Fath alnaar!
The figure simply twirls his sword, a flaming stick
deflecting the bullets, they ricochet off the rocks, making
sparks fly.
But the figure raises his left right hand, fist facing
forwards. A high pitch humming sound cuts the air. The figure
lowers his sword as the sound makes soft whistling sounds as
the bullets abruptly stop in mid air right in front of the
creature's hairy face. On the raised hand is what looks like
a wrist watch but a thrumming eletroplasmic blob ripples
inside its circular face.
As the soldier keep on firing, suddenly a whizzing vroom from
the high pitch sound explodes from the watch.
37.

The bullets are shot right back at all the soldiers all at
once. They howl and scream as they had no idea what hit them.
They are all pelleted and ripped as the bullets rain on them
at once. They all drop dead.
Joshua turns right back to the hole, and sticks his head out
trying all he can to escape. His bag gets caught in the thin
rocky gap. He tries to shove through but to no avail.
JOSHUA
HELP US!
Utterly dumbfounded, the diggers remained glued on spot as
the figure casually walks towards them, next in line to die.
Raising its smoldering sword, one by one, the diggers are
smitten. It is nothing but flashes of orange light zipping
across the darkness. Incoherent men screwing up in annoying.
Flashing to a face of a roaring lion, with large teeth. Flash
to another digger sliced clean in half from the neck all the
way down his leg in one swing.
Face drenched in sweat, Joshua struggles to budge, but it's
no use. He needs be quick. He looks behind at the carnage.
The figure with the firesword is fast approaching!
Flashes of balls of flames as a truncated body flies off the
ground as if an invisible hand plucks him in the air until he
hits the ceiling. The lion headed man punches his left fist
air, growling. It's watch is dancing madly and rippling like
a water's reflection from the sun during a gale. The lion man
looks ahead, not breaking a stride as he swiftly flicks his
scorching sword around, ending the life of the floating man
above. Sparks explode inside the man as he is blown in two.
The spark reveals the full features of the lion man - face
knitting mid snarl, eyes illuminating hate.
Another digger is beheaded by a powerful 3 o'clock stroke.
With two hands, the lion headed man viciously hammers down at
the remaining diggers trying to flee, all are consumed and
taken down by the deadly swings of the conflagration. The
lion man raises his hand and force chokes the supervisor.
Joshua heaves with all his might. Just as the figure comes
closer, in one desperate move, Joshua dislodges his leather
satchel bag by stepping back, and twisting in another angel,
slips through the crevice. A roar cracks the air along with
the surging sword as the supervisor is flung to the side in
the darkness. Now Joshua is all that is left. He just makes
it as the embers of the steam blade, swing pass, slicing
through rock instead. Lava begins to pour down as the sword
remain embedded in the rock wall. The man raises his feline
head and roars terribly with vexation.
38.

Joshua sprints to the surface. He is breathing heavily. The


roars echoes behind him, the only thing keeping him going.
Once Josh heaves himself up onto the tilted floor of the
mosque, he rolls over and jumps on his feet and scrambles
outside, kicking broken tiles away. It is sunset - the sky a
crimson, pink and purple hue developed by the distant
gorgeous humid summer haze.
But Joshua rolls to a halt, his arms flailing to balance him.
His hazel eyes widen. Before him, is a SUV trailer with a
group of Syrian and Qasioun Republican Guards inside, with
their large black semi automatics.
Joshua spins to the right and makes a run for it as fast as
he can. Behind him, are alarmed shouts and barks in Arabic.
They jump out and follow right after Joshua. Those in front
try to lay fire on the fleeing explorer, but the bullets are
off, crushing nearby rocks on the dirt road.
Joshua skips and dashes over rocks and steadies his descent
while keeping the pace down the dusty hill. Behind, his
pursuers charge down upon him, barking exclamations while
trying to get a good shoot.
During the twisting and turning of the fervent and desperate
run, Joshua slips behind a row of boulders, as bullets punch
into the solid outback orange rock.
In the distance, a military helicopter flies by. In the
cockpit is Colonel Pounders piloting the craft. It has an
open gun door with a door gunner.
The Arabic soldiers raid past the boulders Joshua had turned
into. They shout commands as they pursue their enemy.
When the soldiers past by, Joshua hunkers down hidden in an
alcove of brambles in the eroded outcrop. He juts his head
out to make sure he lost his pursuers, when the beats of the
helicopter permeate the air. He springs forth the other way
he came.
The helicopter hovers slowly above the mountainous landscape.
It turns on a beaming spotlight as dusk is fast approaching.
Joshua sprinting as fast as he can towards the sounds of the
helicopter knowing that it is for him.
The Arabic soldiers split up and some spring the other way
they came at the sight of the helicopter.
ARABIC SOLDIER
'Ahdar taezizat! Ed!
39.

Joshua races down the hill, rocks and dirt tumble down like a
miniature avalanche.
Pounder's helicopter hovers over the mountain. Desperately,
the Colonel is searching with his light to find Joshua. From
the cockpit, he sees from the north west coming down is a
small squad of Arabic soldiers and from his south to east is
Joshua spanning the distance.
POUNDERS
I got him!
The chopper turns around for Joshua. But coming the other
way, yelling soldiers point their guns and fire at the
chopper.
The chopper taking multiple hits, the gunman lowers a ladder
in which Joshua leaps from his run and lands on it grappling
it. As the Pounders ascends, the soldiers aim at the ladder
and try with all their chances to hit Joshua. Pounders grits
his teeth at the maneuver to turn his chopper to a hard
right, away from the soldiers while going up.
Bullets zip past Joshua dangling on the ladder. Some cut into
the rope and scratch past his leather satchel. Joshua
struggles to climb.
GUNMAN
COME ON! COME ON!
While performing the feat, a bullet lands inside his thigh.
Joshua raises his head and hisses in agony. He loses his
footing.
GUNMAN (CONT'D)
NOO!
Pounders in anger, looks back down at the Arabic soldiers
still trying their last efforts to fire, nicking his
windscreen with a crack. When out of sight, Pounders turns
around.
POUNDERS
PULL HIM UP, PULL HIM UP!
GUNMAN
AHEAD OF YOU SIR!
The gunman heaves as he pulls the ladder up and grabs the
weak Joshua who helps himself with his stronger upper body
into the craft. With his hands, Joshua slides on his bottom
with legs stretched out and slumps against the wall,
exhausted.

The gunman pulls out a cloth, wraps it up and presses it down


over the wound to cease the horrific outpouring of blood.
Joshua howls in affliction.
The helicopter flies past us and soars off into the violet
and pink horizon.

EXT. HIGHWAY. DAY


Albuquerque, New Mexico - January 2 2003
Ben, Garrow Howey (early 30s) and Julian drive together down
the highway.
BEN (O.C.)
This guy is a trump card.
Garrow holds an image of Joshua Immanuel.
BEN (CONT'D)
He knows his stuff seriously.
Learned in Arabic, Hebrew and
Sumerian and an adamant explorer
into sacred sites and an ancient
history buff. Fits the perfect
qualifications we need.
JULIAN
Alright. Nerdy - like me -, Indiana
Jones type. But has he got any
military experience?
BEN
And he does have some Rambo in him.
Yes. In 2000, he enlisted in the
Damascus Spring conflict. He always
seems to get himself in some
trouble. His childhood was rough.
Always in a book or at a museum. He
asked questions a lot. He wrote
books. Parents divorced due to the
wars. Taken to Jerusalem for
further study. And at eighteen,
flew to New Mexico with a job
application to enroll, as he
believes, experiencing everything
makes the most of life in learning.
Hell, the genius has an IQ of 135!
GARROW
(harsh Swedish/Nordic
accent)
Pffh. Well, hem fits the job for
the Shinar Mission big time. What
brought about Pounder's likins for
him then?

BEN
He was with Pounders during the war
in 2000. Real sharp shooter mind
you. He worked with archaeologists
in Syria and supposedly stumbled
upon a forbidden site when one
night, he escaped alone, wounded in
the leg.
(beat)
No one knows what happened to him
that night. Not even Pounders who
just rescued him from incoming
fire. This is the man. He's been
through it all.
Julian shrugs and smiles.
JULIAN
He's got the brains and the
experience. Nice! I guess Josh will
teach us a lesson or two. Happy
days!

EXT. OLD APARTMENT. NIGHT.


Ben, Julian and Garrow park their car out in front of the
apartment as a rowdy and rumbling gang bikies on Hells Angels
motorcycles, past by. The team walk inside.

INT. OLD APARTMENT. NIGHT.


A messy accumulation of books and files, hidden on shelves, a
few scattered on side tables, a few on chairs opened with
pens inside, many spawned and piled all over the premence. It
is like a secret fortress for scholars and researchers.
Rumpled and yellowed pages are everywhere. The most notable
books on the front desk that Ben looks down on are the R.H
Charles' Book of Enoch, J.H Parry's Book of Jasher,
Florentino Garcia Martinez's Dead Sea Scrolls and Earth's
Earliest Ages G. H. Pember.
After a short while browsing the obsessive library, Julian is
the first to notice Joshua on a comfortable chair near the
end of the room with a coffee cup holder and a side lamp,
nose buried in a book.
JOSHUA
Do you people know about the 47
inch femur bone unearthed in south-
east Turkey by Joel Taylor?

Silently put off at the strange and rather rude greeting, Ben
and Julian shakes their heads dumbfounded.
BEN
No.
Joshua slams his book shut. It is The Nephilim Chronicles:
Fallen Angels in the Ohio Valley By Fritz Zimmerman.
JOSHUA
I thought not. You're, curious to
find out why I'm so ahead of the
game right? Pounders called me
today Benjamin.
He points to a large whiteboard with a poster of a bearded
man next to a femur bone about as tall as himself,
superimposed over a black and white diagram of a giant 12 to
15 foot tall human skeleton. Next to it is a picture of a
cave painting of a slender elongated headed giant and a
coliage of Mudfossil rock formations of petrified giants and
creatures the size of mountains.
JOSHUA (CONT'D)
He told me everything. You took
down one of the big ones eh?
They nod rather stupidly.
JOSHUA (CONT'D)
(cheeky smirk and opens up
his arms)
Welcome to my world. The world of
conspiracies, antiquities and
oddities.
Beat.
BEN
Look Joshua, we really are thankful
for your hospitality. But -
JOSHUA
Yah, I said no. I'm done with the
hide and seek routine long enough
okay? After the disaster that
happened a few years back, I see no
reason to want to join Pounders
again, for what other top secret
government mission he has for me.
GARROW
What about a second chance?

Joshua sits back down it his seat.


JOSHUA
I made my choice final: I'm
retired.
(beat)
You want me to have a second chance
of getting screwed again? What's
next, a missing leg? Huh!
(picks up his book)
Besides, if you would excuse me
gentlemen, I've got a rabbit to
chase.
Ben shakes his head in frustration. He grabs a book nearby.
It is a copy of Missing Links Discovered in Assyrian Tablets
by E. Raymond Capt.
BEN
Just hear us out for a minute man!
Look -
Joshua drops his book and eyes the Assyrian Tablet as robber
with a precious jewelry is holding it back while pointing a
gun at him. Joshua cringes.
BEN (CONT'D)
You are the only guy that Pounders
can put his faith in because you
have such a gift in researching and
learning Semitic languages. He
loves you man, and you disown him?
Man up brother, man up! Without
you, we will never be able to find
the weapons needed to fend off the
al-Qaeda terrorists! Haven't you
seen what's happening on the news?
Joshua rolls eyes and puts a figure to his forehead. He
cannot believe it. He mumbles "news".
JOSHUA
Perpetual national turmoil and
distress. Yeah, I know.
BEN
This is not just about you and
using you. It is about serving
America and our people and the
future of this nation. You want to
continue your research in peace?

BEN (CONT'D)
Well if I was you Josh, I would get
off your butt, on the field and
teach us, ugh - rookies - how
exploring ancient sites is done.
You are our only hope bro.
Ben places the book down.
BEN (CONT'D)
I can't believe I just did that to
a guy with an IQ of 130.
Joshua just sways there on the spot seriously considering the
consequences. He mumbles to himself we pick up 'Inside job,
'screw them', and 'no time.'
JULIAN
So what do you say friend?
JOSHUA
You know what, you're wasting
precious time Ben.
Garrow looks at Joshua's kitchen - a pig sty.
GARROW
When was the last time you had a
healthy men boy?
JOSHUA
Spend too much bucks on books. Who
needs an expensive meal when your
not serving.
GARROW
Yup, but from the state of the
trash boat of yours, well, looks
like you need more pay.
JULIAN
And this job pays better. A Lot
better.
Josh takes no notice of it. He waves his hand aside like he
doesn't care. He laughs to himself.
JOSHUA
You're just trying to bait me. Good
try virgins.
BEN
Damn it Josh you're a good fighter!
This is a crisis and we cannot be
playing around now!
(MORE)

BEN (CONT'D)
Isn't that part of your interest?
Going to Iraq and seeing the ruins
and all that? Your expertise and
marksmanship will give you a life
again! You have nothing to gain
here staying alone inside! We can
offer you a better chance - a new
chance - a life for furthering your
studies and research, with better
pay and better resources and
benefits instead living here in the
slums with gangs and bikies roaming
around! This is no place for a
genius like you! Come on!
JOSHUA
I am contempt, and I don't want
your charity.
JULIAN
(angry)
You do.
BEN
(stressing)
You've got nothing to lose Josh.
You can't do more research if you
lose your money for not paying
taxes.
Joshua paces and stares at Ben. He gets close and points a
proud figure at him.
JOSHUA
If I could possibly recover more
evidence - explain. What is this
mission?
BEN
Can't tell you, it's focal point.
All I can say is that we're
recovering something in Iraq that
is ancient.
JOSHUA
What will it do?
BEN
Can't tell you that either? Only
Pounders can -

BEN

INT. DIRECTOR BONNER'S OFFICE. DAY


Bonner stares at Joshua's paperwork, while he is waiting
nervously on the other side of the desk. After a few seconds,
Bonner hands the paperwork over and straightens up.
BONNER
From Pounders' judgments on you, I
think we can manage.
Bonner gets a pen and signs the bottom of the paper.
BONNER (CONT'D)
As the Director of this mission.
(looks at Joshua)
I want you to be plugged in as best
and as efficiently as you can. In
the meantime,
Colonel Judd Pounders opens the door behind with agent
Marlowe and Nate Coggins, who is silent and unresponsive like
a robot. Joshua looks back at him. A very small and yet,
slightly sinister smile appears on Bonner's face.
BONNER (CONT'D)
Please meet out Porteus team.

INT. CASBOLT'S RENTAL HOUSE. NIGHT


On the wall in the kitchen is a large elaborate Dream-catcher
with occult pagan symbols weaved on it.
It is dim in Casbolt's room fast to sleep. A shadow of a
vague bony hand shrouds his slowly. A whomping high pitched
ringing sound, gets louder and louder as we zoom close to
Casbolt's face.
Casbolt flings his eyes open. He looks around. There's an
uneasy feeling of someone watching him. He tries to move but
he can't.
48.

He is paralyzed, cannot talk but only breath and move his


eyes. But his breath was getting more laborious as a pressure
cramps Casbolt's chest gradually. Panicking, he closes his
eyes tight and tries all he can to get up.
He has no idea what is happening. He is losing the ability to
breath and the weight is increasing on his chest with the
second. With many seconds of struggling pain to sit up and
pushing with all his might, the weight suddenly lifts.
Casbolt bursts out a yell. He jumps up with a start and
hyperventilates. He is sweating, though he is topless. A blur
of movement in the side of his eye catches his attention.
Zipping his head around to the right, next to the ajar door,
is a 3D shadow, shapeless, but there. It is blacker than
black. Utter darkness. To be able to distinguish it from the
surrounding darkness took time, but it blended in the dark
room so well, it seemed to be an endless void. This shady
apparition lurks in the shapeless hole. It is not very tall.
A black medieval royal crown slowly rises into the moonlight
on the white wall and the light from the hallway of the ajar
door, illuminated it slightly to be disgusted.
CASBOLT
(fright and shock)
No!
The shadow shoots up through the ceiling, disappearing.
Casbolt remains there panting and absorbing what he just
experienced.
CASBOLT (CONT'D)
(weak)
No...

EXT. MUDFLATS. DAWN


Shot of Ben's face just above the slimy surface of the mud
flat. It is freezing. Ben's face is pale and his teeth are
violently clanking and shivering together. On the brink of
dawn, the sky is dark grey at the first glimpses of light.
They have been in the mud for around 3 hours.
Around Ben, is his full unit: Julian Ramirez-Arellano, Garrow
Howey, Joshua Immanuel, Reggie Paige, Derek Fish and Jason
Laycock, all consumed in the mud with nothing visible but
their heads.
POUNDERS (O.C.)
We can leave the mud if only five
men can quit.
49.

Colonel Judd Pounders walks up and down a wooden pier. He is


wearing a warm woolly cloak in the winter morning. A feeling
of unbearable hopelessness and strain can be felt. Ben grits
his shaking teeth, as a groans from Reggie, Derek and the
others got so loud, it was hard to hear the ambient sound of
the stirring wilderness. It is a living frozen hell.
Joshua might as well be consumed completely because his face
is splattered with mud. The bone chilling cold makes his
tanned skin looked like it has frostbite. Julian hisses to
clear his croaky throat. Garrow emits a broken, gurgling moan
of insanity.
Pounders' boots make the weather worn wood creak and crunch
right above Ben's face as he paces. As his speech concludes,
the montage begins.
POUNDERS (CONT'D)
Our operative environments will
change radically - inevitably.
Gentlemen, we need to prepare for
these coming changes. Changes that
could potentially lead to much
peril. But, even when the mud
reaches your neck, the spark of
hope will make the cold warmer, and
the dawn nearer.
Series of shots:
- The team run on treadmills doing stress tests.
- The men are immunized.
- The men do DNA test through saliva and blood samples.
POUNDERS (V.O.)
On a compartmentalized level, this
mission will be scaffolded by
multiple agencies and alphabet
soups.
Cut to, Casbolt's team: Matthew Bogandos, Tim Grogan, Garry
Harrell, Reece Kundzinsh, Harald Clark and Jacob Hummer row
on large rowing boats on a raining choppy sea. They are
tormented and tried.
POUNDERS (V.O.) (CONT'D)
We will all endure and test our
limits with ambition.

Cut to Marcus Theis' team: Justin Best, Bill Sargent, Duncan


Lincoln-Price, Leo Urwin, Mark Randall and Monti Martinez in
three consecutive groups in a desert environment, carrying
large logs on their back and shoulders. They are racing each
other with agonizing steps. Colonel Terry Sopher is
motivating them on.
SOPHER
Come on! Smash it! You're nearly
there Marcus! Good on yah Monti!
Push it guys! Go! Go! Go!
Marcus's team reaches the end. He is streaming with sweat in
his tight singlet. He lets the log fall off his shoulder
without care. He closes his eyes and paces putting his gloved
hands on his waist. The other men fall to the ground
knackered.
POUNDERS (V.O.)
You need to be more than ready.
Failure is not an option.
Cut to Ben shaving his beard after coming out from a shower.
He is ripped and bare chested, v-shaped and his bare face is
sculpted with years of gym training and sharp and molded with
endurance. He stares at himself with flaring eyes, the flare
of the urge to push on.
Cut to Ben and Julian in the gym lifting weights, pulling
down on weighted pulleys and working with dumbbells.
Cut to Ben and Julian together swinging up and down thick
black ropes to the ground which are tied up to a bolted metal
leg of a table. They do this for a few seconds and they
finishes, throwing the rope down on the ground, all red in
the face, and dripping with sweat. The two friends high five
each other and lean on each other from exhaustion.
Cut to Ben boxes a boxing bag with so much anger and power he
yells in the midst of his fury and with one knockout punch,
the bag falls off its hook and thumbs on the ground.
Cut to Brianna peering into her apartment window. She sees on
the TV, President George W Bush speaking. As she listens,
Brianna's face becomes worried and stern. She purses her lips
and bows her head.
GEORGE BUSH (FILTERED)
At this hour, American coalition
forces are in the early stages of
military operations to disarm Iraq,
to free its people and to defend
the world from grave danger.
51.

Cut to Casbolt looking at Marlowe with a swelling annoyance.


The agent is observing them and taking notes on a clipboard.
They sprint on an athletics track as Colonel Thomas Franks
shots the gun.
Cut to an obstacle course Ben and Casbolt's team are racing
as they climb up a tall net wall. Reece, Joshua and Laycock
are struggling. As they slowly climb up to the top, Reece
shoves Joshua who was in his way.
REECE
Come - damn it!
Joshua slips and falls to the mattered ground with a thud.
GROGAN
Let's go book worm! Haha!
Joshua glares at Tim Grogan as he leaps over him and scales
up the wall. Close behind is Derek Fish. Joshua holds his leg
that was shot and struggles to climb up again. Fish passes
him without notice. Joshua looks up at his slow progress and
gives up, emitting an annoying yell.
Jumping, running and slipping through tunnels and hurdles,
Leo Urwin (early 20s) gets out his bayonet at an assault
course with three human targets. He stabs at the first, pulls
back then slashes the next with much zeal and effort.
DRILL SERGEANT SHEEDY
Kill, kill, kill, kill! YEAH MAN!
Be all you can be! Bad guys need
killing!
Leo is a machine. He is so agile, as he rips apart the
mannequins with such skill, swiftness and flare the Sheedy
nods and sucks his lips in, clearly impress.
DRILL SERGEANT SHEEDY (CONT'D)
Damn, Urwin you're very motivated
today.
URWIN
YES DRILL SERGEANT! GRAHH!
Sheedy grimaces as Leo continues to attack.

EXT. BOOT CAMP - FORT HUACHUCA. DAY


All the soldiers of the Shianr Mission are jogging in a
single file and are commanded to not deviate or break up. If
one man slows down, it will have an acordeon effect creating
a huge gap in the line.
52.

Someone in middle of the line gets too tired and begins to


slow down the pack behind, when in front of him the rest of
the team get further away. Justin Best (20) 6' 3 is wheezing.
Behind him, is a very vexed Jacob Hummer, a faster runner
complains.
HUMMER
COME ON! MOVE YOUR ASS! MOVE!
GOOO!! GRRAAHH!
Jacob Hummer is not allowed to overtake him. Justin heaves as
he tries to push forward but his limbs are just too stiff and
weak. Behind Jacob is Laycock.
LAYCOCK
My goodness! Hurry up!
Further down the line, Ben speaks up.
BEN
What's the hold up?
Justin glances behind him with a strained and panicked face.
He looks extremely embarrassed. Hummer glares done at him
with bugging out eyes and an exaggerated face.
HUMMER
GO! YOU LITTLE PIECE OF -
Justin emits an inept sound.
In front with the first group as the approach closer and
closer to the base, Marcus Theis as the leader slows to a
stop, staring directly ahead of us with particular attention.
Behind him, Matthew Bogdanos glances to the sight.
BOGDANOS
Oh, my. I don't want to be that guy
at the end of his tanty.
Marcus gives a wry smile as we hear a ruckus and vexed
grunts.
Drill Sergeant Rode kicks open a door into the cabins. He
barks angry phrases to himself.
DRILL SERGEANT RODE
Grahh, when will they lock! Dah!
Throwing a fit, Rode roars and throws an open bag out the
open door into the courtyard. The clothes fly everywhere. He
then goes on a rampage and kicks all of the other items in
the room across the open threshold rather comically.
53.

Marcus and the other onlookers just cannot help but to


snicker a bit.
Rodes makes a howling growl as he flings a pair of sneakers
out the door. It flies right at Marcus and his group. They
yelp "woah" and move out of the path of the projectile. They
continue staring at the shoes then at the man having a freak
out with amazement at what is happening.
Then, Rode lifts up the mattress on the bunk. His faces is
red and veins are protruding as he heaves and flips over it
with an silent and breathless thrust of wrath. He struggles
to shove the thing out the door. It gets stuck. Rode looks at
it and then boxes the mattress, flaring his nostrils and
shaking his fists.
DRILL SERGEANT RODE (CONT'D)
You stupidit - stupidt - stupidit -
stupdit - stupdit - stupdit -
stupidt!
He begins to throw himself with his full body at the mattress
so it can bend and fall outside. He is successful, but
without making himself look like a flimsy exasperated fool,
he falls over onto the mattress as it dislodges from the
lintel. He curses to himself loudly. Most of the soldiers of
the Shinar Mission just rubbernecks at the Freak out scene
that makes no sense. They cross their arms and shakes their
heads in bewilderment.
GARROW
Dang.
REGGIE
Is this a prank?
GARROW
That yours?
CLARK
Nah huh.
Now things gets more ridiculous. As the second group starts
to come into view, Rhodes gets up out of the room and begins
to kick at the bag with all the clothes scattered everywhere.
Seeing the approaching train, Rhodes once again grabs the
mattress and with a shout, heaves it onto the veranda roof.
He jumps on his toes to shove it back further on the roof to
make sure the owner is not able to retrieve it with ease.
The last group finally arrive and we see Justin floppy slow
to a walk with his head down as the other soldiers run past
him.

MARTINEZ
Oh man, look it here.
RANDALL
Hey look at Rhode.
BILL
Wait, Justin is that your bag?
Justin groggily raises his head, dizzy and still trying to
slow down his heart rate.
JUSTIN
Wah?
Bill Sargent points at the rumpled bag with its content of
clothes spawned everywhere. Justin takes a while to get
himself together, when Drill Sergeant Rhode bellows.
DRILL SERGEANT RODE
WHO DID THIS!?
Justin snaps and spies Rhode, then looks back at his bag.
Absolute horror and despair crushes him. He winches and
moans.
JUSTIN
Oh...
Justin falls onto his knees at the empty bag. He aimlessly
picks it up, the poor kid humiliated. Like a menacing tower,

from him. Pulling him up right on his feet and drawing him
face to face, Rhode asks the question again, but in a lower
and more sinister volume.

face and eyes, he managed to a reply.
JUSTIN

He gulps.

Rhode lets go of Justin's collar. The kid stumbles awkwardly
about by still manages to hold his footing. He holds his

Rhode scorns at him with a huff from his nostrils.

JUSTIN

Rhode just stares down at him for a little while longer then
leaves.
Few beats, Justin closes his eyes and raise his head and cups
his face in his hands.
JUSTIN (CONT'D)
(shame)
Oh God...
Some of the soldiers giggle as they walk past. Julian just
walks up to the kid smiling and lands firm hand on his
shoulder.
JULIAN
That's how the game rolls kid. Just
get use to it.
Pats him on the back two times as he leaves. Justin tries to
word the word 'thanks' but the patting cuts his breath out.
Poor Justin tries to clean up the mess and walks up to the
roof gawking at his now misplaced mattress. Justin looks
around unsure and nervous out of his mind.
JUSTIN
Ahh... A little here?
Ben offers a hand.
BEN
No sweat Justin. I'll help. Don't
worry about that guy. He's taken
one too many drugs. It's to stiffen
you up.
Ben and Justin take the mattress down. They carry it inside
and arrange it over the bed. Ben picks up the sheets and
Justin brings his bag over with Reggie carrying his clothes.
JUSTIN
Thanks guys. Thanks commander.
Ben winks at him smiling giving him a thumbs up.

Colonel Pounders with Terry Sopher and Thomas Franks stand in
front of all twenty one men who are seated behind rows of
desk. Marlowe Richards and Nate Coggins stand off to the
side, leaning on the wall in the shadows, taking notes.

Garrow Howey rolls over on his bunk and reaches out
underneath the bed. He sneakily pulls out a brown paper bag
all rolled up. He unrolls it to reveal a white plastic bag,
filled with chocolate, candy and chips.
GARROW
After all the work, it's time to
have a party.
In his room is Ben, Julian, Laycock and Derek.
DEREK
Oh you got to be joking. Just
before we're about to be deployed.
Ben leans forward to look what's inside the bag.
BEN
Gee-dunk? No thanks. Not in the
mood brother.
Unable to resist the temptation, Jason Laycock reaches into
the bag.
GARROW
Go ahead buddy.
Laycock pulls out a Twinkly and unwraps it. He sticks it into
his mouth as Derek rolls his eyes.
LAYCOCK
(mouthful)
What?
Derek brushes his annoyance aside.
GARROW
Ahh. Loosen up Derek.
Derek nods.
DEREK
Okay then. You didn't need anything
to eat. You already had a bag full.
LAYCOCK
One piece wouldn't hurt. It's

JULIAN
Yeah, that's true.
Garrow pulls out a packet of HoHos and gives a Star Crunch to
Julian. Garrow begins to eat the chocolate.
LAYCOCK
Hey Garrow, you want to tell us
that story about the last time you
came back from CATE.
Garrows swallows.
GARROW
Ah yes. Well, after the day of some
dangerous training, I was with some
of the crew in complete camo gear
with Ghillie Suit Woodland
Camouflage and all. So after the
coordinated battle, one of my mates
walked up to me and said, "Yo
Garrow, Katrina good tonight?" I
don't know what it was but a crazy
idea came into my head. Katrina,
you know, she was the girl in
college I had a mad crush on and I
never got the guts to ask her out.
Ben shakes his head with amusement and a broad smile across
his face.
BEN
Oh man this is priceless.
GARROW
But it was only until now, after
all the training, I was so thrilled
and reckless, I'd do anything to
get dat girl. So. I asked my mate
if Katrina is going to Club 108,
and lone behold, she was! Excited
out of my mind, I got myself into a
purple tuxedo with the hat, the
flower, the whole thing. So I get

Laycock is already trying so hard to hold back giggles in his

I put on these bear shoes with

I grab my stash of roses and comb
back my hair and marched right in
there to battle. Oh boy,
Laycock can't help himself burst out laughing. He spits.
GARROW (CONT'D)
Oh boy, those chicks were digging
me! They were digging so bad, I
thought they will distract me from
finding my own rose! Katrina... No.
No one was gettin my way!
Ben theatrically shoves Julian aside as he tries to reenact
the scene.
BEN
Move it ladies.
Garrow snickers.
GARROW
Oh man, I was too sexy for them
anyway.
The whole team burst out laughing and slapping their thighs.
Garrow tries to continue his story while trying hard to not
make himself laugh.
GARROW (CONT'D)
And! And!
Jason Laycock starts to bugging Garrow.
LAYCOCK
Ahuh, yeah, can I get one?
GARROW
A sec. So, now I spot her in my
cross-hairs right. She's there at
the bar drinking with her other
girlfriend. Taking the only chance,
got my roses, and slid right in
there on the dance floor with such
skill the girls were shocked. They
gasped.
LAYCOCK
Oh that's neat, how about now?
GARROW
Then I knelt down right there, and
gave her the roses. And that's how
I meet the girl of my dreams.

begins to look around.

Krav Maga training.
JULIAN
I bet yah any money that Joshua is
still in that library over there.
LAYCOCK
Leave the kid. He's in his element.
If he wants to sleep there, let him

DEREK

BEN

DEREK
Jesus, not only his he a weapon

As Ben is talking, Joshua enters the cabin in silence and
just listens.
BEN (CONT'D)
With his wrestling skills, he's the
beast on TV.
JOSHUA
You know martial arts developed for
the purpose to combat giants?
The men go silent for a second and whip their heads around to
look at Josh. Awkwardly, he smiles.
JOSHUA (CONT'D)

DEREK
The bookworm has come out of his
cave!
They clap and pat Josh on the back. He cringes and just says
"it's nothing" drowned out by the sugar rushed and fired up
men. Garrow offers Josh some treats.
GARROW
What some Gee-dunk?
Josh thinks for a second.
JOSHUA

He takes an few M&Ms.
BEN
And what about you Josh? I heard
you know Krav Maga.

I did take some classes many years

Leans back on his bunk as he takes out his small journal.
JOSHUA (CONT'D)
Besides, I can handle myself just

Derek leans over to him.
DEREK
Tell me Josh, what's it like to be
a single archaeologists?
Josh turns from his journal and stares at Derek with an
impish face.
JOSHUA
Oh boy. Well, what makes me being
single so interesting to you Derek?
That's my proposition.
Derek lets his head up with a crackling laugh. The other guys
get interested to hear the banter.
JULIAN
Ah, there would be plenty to hot
chicks out in the field all the
time. You fancy anybody?
Josh just shrugs. He gives a wry grin at the thought.
JOSHUA
Just, haven't been too worried
about I guess.
(beat)
How about you? Any family?
DEREK
Got a sister. Little air force brat
she is. My father is a navy seal,
still in service. Don't see them
very much, they're not really
thrilled about my career. Well...
Josh tilts his head and bites his lip.

understand what that's like Derek.

LAYCOCK

JULIAN
(shocked)

Laycock nods with a quirky smile plastered on his face.

(dreamily)

JULIAN
(amused)
You've been on like a few dates!
What's the rush?
LAYCOCK
I know its early, but she just -
has the qualifications for Mrs
Laycock. Her rounded face and her
tough build. Those hips. Man. She's
nerdy too.
GARROW
Didn't you meet at a strip club?
Laycock laughs.
LAYCOCK
At the gym. It was her friend that
goes to the strip club!
JULIAN
Gym? Same thing if you ask me.
The men laugh at the joke as Josh rolls his eyes sighing. He
buries his face in his book, embarrassed.
JOSHUA
(to himself)
You guys...
LAYCOCK
Yeah, that doesn't matter. She's
pretty strong - and petite.
(MORE)

LAYCOCK (CONT'D)
You should have seen her on the
bench press. Wow... I noticed her,
then she noticed me. It killed me
man. You know what that's like
Julz. You have a wife don't you?
GARROW
Two kids yeh?
Julian nods.
JULIAN

LAYCOCK
What's she like? Is she fit? How
did you meet her?
Ben looks over from the other-side of the room at Julian with
a concerned face knowing too well that they were about to
cross the line into sensitive territory.
Julian just looks down at the ground then raises his head
back up with a childish grin with head cocked to the side
slightly. His sideburns gleaming off the light giving him a
sort of halo.
JULIAN
Just made conversation.
LAYCOCK
Where about's did you meet?
JULIAN

LAYCOCK
Oh, so you meet her on a dating
site eh?
JULIAN

LAYCOCK
Well, okay what's her name then?
Ben starts to slowly walk over.
JULIAN

A bit thrown off, Laycock eases a bit.

Well ah... I'll was just curious.
Three beats. Julian blinks and still maintaining his almost
careless posture, he finds a way of escape.
JULIAN
She's dead.
The atmosphere is poisoned. Everyone is silent. Even Ben is
put off. Julian is covering his tracks.
JULIAN (CONT'D)
(creepying)
She's dead, but - even so, it is
almost as if she was more alive as
ever.
(beat)
I meet her after Desert Storm in a
dream. An exquisite dream.
Something fantasy like. She's too
dangerous. She can't come here. The
only time when I meet here is in
bed, late at night. She just comes
from outside of the void. I was
frozen when I saw her. She just
come on top of me saying: "Unleash
the heat of battle my warrior."
LAYCOCK
(utterly dumbfounded and
horrified at the innuendo)
What?
Julian is still smiling. He's loving it.
LAYCOCK (CONT'D)
Dude, you sound a bit mad there eh?
You must have really loved her
then. You okay Julz?
Julian now starts to lose his mask of coolness.
JULIAN
You don't think I'm serious? You're
fooling with something - that you
should fool around with.
LAYCOCK

(slowly getting more tense
and aggravated)
But madman know nothing. They're
not themselves. They are incapable
of processing commands... You
saying I am mad!?
Put off at the strange behavior, Laycock shakes his head.
LAYCOCK
No. Certainly not in that way I -
Ben steps in to ease the potential disaster.
BEN
Okay, okay, party's over folks.
Better get ourselves to bed now.
Captain's orders. Come on.
Joshua looks up from his journal and at Julian with shock and
with intrigue. He scribbles something down.
Julian just gets up to his bed. It is all very awkward.
BEN (CONT'D)
Julz you alright buddy?
A complexion of amusement and perturbation as Julian throws
his sheets back roughly.
JULIAN
(sour and bitter)
Maybe I am mad. What does it matter
anyway.

DREAMSCAPE.
LONG SHOT of Casbolt all alone standing and looking away from
us. He looks at a gigantic pine tree - a hairy mass concealed
by deep shadows. Next to Casbolt is a small country home -
nostalgic and humble with a front porch with outdoor chairs
and a table. A breeze flows gently causing the wooden wind
chimes to clank with a lulling melody. The faint trickle of a
nearby stream can be heard in the peaceful silence of the
night. Casbolt looks around. He is overcome by a jiggly sense
of freedom. He twitches and closes his eyes. The rays of the
moon's cold beams illuminate the grassy meadow in a milky
glow so bright, that there was no need for a torch. No sign
of human activity. He was alone. In the wilderness. And he is
whole, peaceful and glad.
73.

In the ease of his waking dreams, about to doze off, Casbolt


picks up a very distant rustle in the brush somewhere.
Smiling, Casbolt opens up his eyes and sways to look up at
the dormant pine: also in peace in the silence lonely night.
Then there was movement up in the tree, something very
stealthy and sloth like. At first Casbolt curiously wonders
what it is. He glances at what looks like folded appendages
on the black, fading in and out of the leaves themselves. Is
it a bird? Hardly. When the creature gets into the sparsed
moon light, Casbolt observes that it had a round human head,
draped in long ivory hair, with wings connected to its back.
It moves again to a perching position so Casbolt was able to
see the thing is bared chested, perfectly balanced.
During his stupor, the thing spots Casbolt. With such
majestic grace as an eagle, the bird-man levitates off the
tree and glides unto the blades of grass almost like a ghost.
It stands there for a moment, his face gaunt and sagged with
a sordid history.
Carefully, Casbolt slowly begins to walk up to the creature
with one hand out. As he got closer, he notices the man's
huge wings: dark red in color and gleaming the light from the
moon. His hair like bone, hanging down to his shoulders and a
month old beard that radiated a depressed vibe around the
man's frame. He wears trousers with bare feet and looks to be
in his late thirties or early forties.
CASBOLT
What, are you?
The man does not seem to make a noticeable reaction.
QUARTZWING
This tree belongs to you. I'm sorry
for using it.
Casbolt looks lost.
CASBOLT
I- I don't think I have a tree.
Casbolt looks at the tree and another breeze strokes it. Now
something sinister seems to be connected to it. Casbolt takes
a step back.
CASBOLT (CONT'D)
Who are you? What's your name?
The depressed man turns around. We see that his wings are
latched to his body with various forms of tissue and flesh in
his spine. The roots of the wings seemed to stem from what
looks like gleaming gemstones and crystal quartz.

Casbolt studies them with awe.


CASBOLT (CONT'D)
What happened to you mate?
The man turns back around, face frowning.
QUARTZWING
You are what happened.
(beat)
Planaō... are assimilating us
James. Assimilating us... All of
us, into their own image.
CASBOLT
Whose image?
QUARTZWING
You don't know?
(beat)
The Archons.
Quartzwing's nose begins to bleed black goo. He snaps and
frantically tries to stop it with his hands. His eyes become
holes of horror.
QUARTZWING (CONT'D)
(horrified)
No, no, no, no, no, no.
Casbolt gets concerned.
CASBOLT
Okay.
(beat)
I got you.
Casbolt comes up the cowling bird man who suddenly begins to
hiccup and cry like a baby.
Casbolt simply hugs the man as they kneel on the grass.
Unsure as of what to do, he lets the man bury his face into
his embrace.
Casbolt cannot resist the urge to touch one of the feathery
wings. They are very beautiful and silky, identical to an
eagle's wings. He runs his head along the gems and polished
crystals growing out of his shoulder blades and his spine as
he wraps his arm around him.
CASBOLT (CONT'D)
Shhh. I want to help you. I
promise.

The man slowly eases his crying. He sniffs and let's go.
QUARTZWING
Casbolt, you're a very interesting
Aos Sí. This is know. You have the
blood of the elves.
Casbolt nods.
CASBOLT
We're not so different after all.
Quartzwing manages to shyly smile. But it vanishes when he
stares up at the midnight sky, sparkling with the galaxy.
QUARTZWING
I miss her...
The dream begins to change and shift. Casbolt finds himself
inside the memories of Quartzwing.
A green skinned pointed eared woman appears out of the hazy
light. She looks older and stunningly beautiful. Her slanted
almond-shaped green eyes, birch tree colored hair like twigs
and her fairy-like dress of green, gold and lime with a
decolletage. Casbolt is fancied by her. She was magical
indeed.
QUARTZWING (V.O.)
(whisper)

...
The scene shifts to Quartzwing flying fast and high above the
forests, wind blowing in his face. Smiling and soaring
through the air. He flaps his massive wings on the updrafts,
doing tricks and flips. There are roars of exhilaration.
Tears of joy.
Scene shifts to a very bright yet vague image of a woman with
auburn hair flying behind her like a horse' mane. She is in
an area that looks like a prehistoric Stonehenge site. On her
neck is a dowsing necklace pendulum. She turns her head
around. She is stunning.
QUARTZWING (V.O.) (CONT'D)
You will have an heir...

Casbolt sees a tragic scene of the green woman again in slow


motion falling into an artificial chasm. Her hair is an
explosion, covering half her face. Her hand is reaching up at
us. Her eyes frenzied with the feeling free fall. She is
swallowed by slimy black goo, demonic goo that envelopes her,
similar to the dark matter that Dave Marrow can summon. She
is screaming as if giving birth. So agonizing as her whole
body is devoured by this dark force, until all that is left
is bare bones. Amongst the clamor we hear a man's voice
echoing and screaming "NOOOO!!!"
Casbolt is now crying this time. He breaks out of the man's
memories. Some of them seemed like déjà vu. Especially the
green lady. He remembers seeing her one time, but he can't
put his finger on where or when.
CASBOLT
(emotional)
Grianchloch - I'm so sorry... I'm
very very sorry Grianchloch...
Five beats as Quartzwing aimlessly nods, all dozy and aloof.
QUARTZWING
James... What can you do now?
(beat)
Your loyalty to him is final.

INT. POUNDERS' OFFICE


Ben holding his jacket in his hands as he walks down the
hallway and turns to knock on Ponuders' door and opens it.
Colonel Judd Pounders stands straight, hands behind his back
in desert camo fatigues all the while staring out the window.
BEN
Sir. You requested me?
From out the window looking in, we see Pounders staring
outside pass us.
POUNDERS
You're well rested Ben?
Ben shrugs.
BEN
Yeah. Pretty well.
Pounders turns around with a waver, hands still behind his
back. His face is inexorable and eyes flat and empty.

POUNDERS
Please shut the door and sit.
BEN
Yes sir.
They walk over to Pounders' computer screen with has a large
digital google map of Iraq accompanied by pin points and
regional data, with multiple helmet footage in certain areas
and villages. One that Ponuder's points at is Kut and Afak to
the east.
POUNDERS
This is where Frank's team:
SENTINELS are going. Sopher's team:
EAGLES are interested in going to
Eridu and Ur to stop by for
rendezvous with our other squads
from other immanent missions from
the coalition forces, before
heading to Warka.
Ben just looks up back at Pounders.
POUNDERS (CONT'D)
Now for your team - our team:
RANGERS, you will be stationed at
Samarra since Baghdad is out of the
way. We need to make sure the 75th
Ranger Regiment battalions are
assembled and ready so when we spy
out the location, they can come in
without much trouble.
BEN
Sir?
POUNDERS
The marines are already set in by
Kut to peg Baghdad lead by
SENTINELS. We hope that by May we
can reach Raytheon including
Tuwaithua.
BEN
Okay...
POUNDERS
It is a surreal time Ben over
there. There has been a change of
plans for us.
(MORE)

POUNDERS (CONT'D)
The conventional forces in the
Shock and Awe Campaign were too
drastic and they lost there
mission, leaving Special Ops
leaders scrambling around for a
plan B. So, this is why I requested
your attendance. With our satellite
Merkabah, it will be guiding us
here as coordinating the trajectory
of our Tomhawk missiles cruise
mines, to strike on Baghdad. But we
are also need a very strategic
point to begin our invasion there.
(beat)
So we're going to hit Haditha Dam.
BEN
Haditha?
Pounders nods.
POUNDERS
It is the only main highway across
the Euphrates that provides hydro-
electric power that can essentially
benefit us, whilst cutting off any
resources and reinforcements for
enemy forces. But there's an
objective: the Iraqi forces are
threatening to sabotage the dam to
flood the town of Haditha nearby,
putting the lives of many innocent
people in jeopardy, if we do not
proceed to save them. So, to inform
you Ben, we need to go out there
first, to ready an ambush so we can
secure a prudent passage for the
SENTINELS to safely scout the
invading land.
Ben takes some time to take it all in.
BEN
Yes, sir. I have your orders.
Pounders slightly nods.

INT. 11TH SIGNAL BRIGADE - COMMAND CENTER.


Ben pulls out his phone from his pocket and puts it to his
ear.
79.

INT. REFUGEE CAMP. NIGHT


In a dimly lit garage, Brianna in a grey trench coat is
kneeling down in front of two huddled up Muslim woman - one
in a light pink hijab and a younger girl in a dark green one,
sits in sleeping bags with food scattered over the floor. The
younger girl is clinging unto the older one with weariness,
their eyes surrounded by bags. Next to Brianna is a blonde
haired police woman and a black agent.
BRIANNA
We're going to get an interpreter
and we're going to ask you some
questions.
(beat)
I'm here to help.
(beat)
For now all I can say is I'm sorry.
As Brianna gets up, strokes her hair and puts her hands in
her pockets as she begins to walk with her partner detective.
BRIANNA (CONT'D)
So that's how it ends up. Escape
war, go to England, everyone eyeing
you as if you're a criminal.
Her phone rings.
BRIANNA (CONT'D)
Excuse me.
She gets up and walks a few feet to the main industrial
hallway and answers.
BRIANNA (CONT'D)
DePaula.
BEN (FILTERED)
Hey honey, we're ready to depart.
BRIANNA
Oh, hey...
(beat)
Is that so?
BEN (FILTERED)
Yeah, we've been pushed very hard
to the limits here. They really
wanted us to be ready for this
mission.
As Ben speaks, Brianna glances back but flinches as she turn
her head back.

BEN (CONT'D)
How's it going with you? What you
up to now?
BRIANNA
(sighs)
Just in a middle of an
investigation. A manslaughter case.
A pizza man has just been shot by
an professorial undercover killer
on the run. This one can get bogged
down. People lose sight of the
victims, and in this case, these
Muslim women are victims. I told
them to make use of a sympathetic
ear once they got it.
(beat)
Ben... It's just the Islamophobia.
No one likes them. For good
reasons. You do your duty, I wish
you luck. I love you and...
(beat)
BEN (FILTERED)
Yeah, I love you too Bri.
After three beats as Brianna swallows and speaks with a
slightly croaky voice. She gives off a look of ambivalence.
Her mouth is slightly open as she releases that her case
could be related to Ben's mission in Iraq.
BRIANNA
But - Ben.
(beat)
Don't provoke them.
Ben hangs up. Brianna gives a small exhale of stress. She
puts the phone in pocket and puts a hand to her chin to
reflect. Her partner comes to her.
POLICE
Who was that?
BRIANNA
Just my husband.
They return back to the garage to continue their late night
investigation.

INT. BOEING C-17 GLOBEMASTER III. DAY


All the twenty one men for the Shinar Mission with the
Colonels are strapped in their seats ready for take off as
Ben makes his way to the empty seat beside Lieutenant Reggie
Paige. He removes his backpack to the floor under his seated,
buckles himself in as the giant engines begin to drone with
more power.
REGGIE
Well? What did he say?
BEN
Change of plans. We're heading to
Samarra, then to Haditha Dam.

EXT. SIERRA VISTA MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, AIRFIELD. DAY


The C-17 roars down the runway and takes off into the azure
blue sky.

EXT. GEORGIA GUIDESTONES. SUNSET


HIGH ANGLE SHOT as we pan out from the shadow shrouded
granite 'American Stonehenge'. A center pillar upholds a flat
square cap stone that is linked to the edges of four large
slabs of 19 feet in height, all angled in alignment with the
four corners of the cap block, placed jutting outwards. In
eight different languages, a message of ten guidelines or
principles are engraved in Chinese, Russian, Cuneiform,
English, Spanish, Greek, Swahili, Hindu, Sanskrit, Hebrew,
Arabic and Egyptian Hieroglyphs.
SLIM MAN (V.O.)
Break down the barrier of language:
you watch the equilibrium of the
Universe. Just comes to reason.
We see the precarious, deep throat Slim Man in a dark green
suit next to Hank Mjier (the Pindar). The sky is dark pink
and purple with the clouds are pitch smoke.
SLIM MAN
It is time... The hour of the
enmeshing snare.
Hank takes his eyes gawking at the granite monument and at
the man.
HANK
There's no turning back?

The slim man's kaleidoscopic eyes glitter.


SLIM MAN
What is there to turn back to Mr
Meijer?
(beat)
It's a vision of human freedom
unfettered by the given.
Hank smiles and the tension in his body language waivers.
HANK
I delight in that firm promise.
Inclines me to recall the old days
of Roosevelt, when maintaining the
hegemony of Great Pitatia was,
refreshing.

SLIM MAN
Hmm. But you've seen nothing yet.
(smiles)
Pieces are being set on the board.
While we bring forth our weapons
and players, the Great Tyrant will

HANK

selfish restrainers seeking the
gifts of God themselves, do nothing

HANK

(beat)

SLIM MAN (CONT'D)
No. Hahaha. No. That is what we're
trying to prevent in the first
place! This is a Light World Order!
Not a a dark!
(regained ease)
And that's why, Hank, we will win
this war. Not by force. Not by
dictatorship. But by sculpting
their perspective on the Great
Tyrant. That's the key!
A child with his family is sitting on the grass nearby. The
kid has a superman figure as he runs around with it,
pretending to around with it making noises and having fun.
Slim man produces a warm smile.
SLIM MAN (CONT'D)
No God tried to intervene when I
was watching my kids slaughter one
another. If He's not resisting us
in Omega Plan, He cannot be all
powerful.
Slim man looks up to the setting sun, a melting egg yoke on
the frying pan horizon.
SLIM MAN (CONT'D)
(raspy)
Your wound shall heal.

DREAMSCAPE.
Ben is floating 20 feet above a mossy and verdant land. He
beholds before him: a might pillar, a soaring cedar, so tall
its top mingled with the clouds above. Amougst the dense
ancient forest the great cedar tree seemed to be the heart. A
blanket of roots radiated from the tree’s massive trunk,
covering the ground with bark veins, blood-vessels sustaining
the forest spanning an area at least 10 acres or more.
It presided over the surrounding cedars, fir trees and chest
nut trees like a benevolent patriarch. Its arching canopy - a
shadowing shroud - adorns its brilliance, supported by its
thick boughs of titanic tendons, overlapping one other. Its
height exalted above all the trees of the forest. Its
branches a city for millions of birds and animals. The leaves
thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much. Despite the
wondrous scenery, looking up at the colossal cedar, bigger
than any on earth, Ben apperceived a sentient psyche,
radiating from the trunk. It was as if it had its own
consciousness. A consciousness that is dormant. Slow moving,
as slow as the creeping of ice.
84.

Not concerned about how it was a city for millions of


wildlife, but only soaking light from the sun.
Ben, perplexed and mouth opened, floats higher to behold an
even greater sight. He is in a forested valley with lofty
hills and mountains like unusual jagged walls. But another
giant tree catches his eye. Not as superbious as the cedar,
yet it radiated its own power.
It is dry, broken and dead. The fig tree's gnarled branches
sagging and writhing downwards. Branches twisting and growing
in such unusual ways, it almost seemed like the tree was a
cluster of petrified lighting bolts - a natural delicate
sculpture for the forest.
Its truck seemed to be broken, as it was bent in the middle
like a hunched back of an old hag. The tree looks tortured,
yet it also seemed to look sinister and gothic. Besides, the
disfiguration of the contorted trunk, Ben perceives something
else. The truck appeared to be moving and rippling as if the
baking heat is literally melting the bark! At closer
inspection, the truck wasn't at all melting. It is in fact
entirely infested with coiled up serpents, and snakes and
reptiles of all kinds!
Ben floats away slightly from the tree, repulsed. The fig's
gnarled net of roots were also colonies for serpents of all
shapes and sizes. It is revolting. Ben gags. The wet
slithering sound as loud as a waterfall.
Suddenly, a silent flash of light illuminates the entire sky.
A nuclear bomb? A white and orange tail of a meteor scourges
the heavens, roaring as a dragon into the valley below. Ben
flies high to the right to avoid being in the path of the
fast approaching meteoroid. The projectile collides with the
great cedar. It cuts right through it's center trunk and
buries itself into the ground-nearby, creating a crunching
cacophony. The smoke whips aside as the top half of the
dismembered cedar cascades a mighty fall. It glorious crown
and leaves have been brought down. It hits the ground with a
thunderous clap. The birds panic. They fly in gigantic
screeching clouds and swarms that Ben covers his face as they
zip past him. In fact, the whole forest seems to be waking
up. A subterranean hissing sound is emitted as every single
bird of the forest, takes flight into the sky away from the
valley. It is a terrifying and yet, glorious sight to behold.
Once the smoke cleared Ben curiously peered to see the
remains of the cedar from the impact that even the king of
the forest failed to withstand. All that remained, is a
gnarled stump, still standing as a 14 story building. Gallons
of sap bead forth in floods. A minute passes. Then a single
stork - a blossom - penetrates the crusty truck and grows,
reaching the sunlight with desperation to live.
85.

A vague orange and red apparition of a man (around Ben's


height) appears in the distance, shooting to the sky and
halting suddenly in the air from the impact crater. Faraway,
Ben could not make out the glowing figure's details, but he
did notice that he had his hands up above his head, as if he
was casting an enchantment.
The sound of a cracking explosion bursts behind Ben. He turns
and witnesses the fig tree, completely ablaze. The snakes on
the trees were writhing like worms, many were screaming and
squealing in pain. They cut through the ground to get away
from the conflagration in a swarming wriggling herd. They
were vile creatures. They spat. Hissed and sniped at Ben and
the figure in accusation. Truncated snake bodies flop off the
burning tree branches. Embers scatter, eventually catching
fire the neighboring tree, then the next and the next.
In less than half a minute, the paradise valley was on fire.
Even the dismembered cedar tree was suffering from the
licking flames. The smoldering man in the distance spreads
out his arms. A deafening groan vibrates the ground. Then
suddenly, a sonorous blast of dew and mist steams out of the
earth. All around Ben, the whole valley detaches itself from
the mountain rangers as the underground geysers rip the land
apart in a consecutive ring. Ben begins to become nervous.
The entire land mass of the hidden valley is now floating in
midair. Underneath the mass, a hollow crunching sound blares
as the inner earth opens up. The fires of Gehenna below,
sucking in the accursed valley.
Then Ben simply floats in the air as he watches the land
beneath him free fall into oblivion - into the bottomless
pit. As it falls, it reaches tens of thousands of miles per
hour, the friction causes it to ablate, The trees become mere
white pins like stones in a furnace. White, orange and brown
smoke pour around the rim of the falling valley. The fire
mountain breaks apart from the pressure until the lava of the
monstrous pit spurts upwards, consuming the valley in an
eternal Hell - forever.
Next to Ben in the distance, the glowing figure also remains
with him at the same level. Ben feels as if he is being
sucked into the pit as he begins to lower down below the
surrounding mountains. He feels constricted. He panics. He
tries to fly up but he cannot. He looks at the glowing man.
He tries to speak. He cannot. As he thought he was about to
be sucked into the black hole of the abyss, Ben forces
himself to wakes up with a weak grunt.
86.

INT. BOEING C-17 GLOBEMASTER III. MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT


Ben sits bent over cupping his face in his hands. His soldier
friends are still sleeping and slowly waking up. Casbolt, of
course, was awake reading. He spots Pounders and the other
Colonels with the arms crosses, head at their chins sleeping.
It looks rather amusing to Ben.
Then at cruse altitude, the plane's engines turn off. A spike
of panic pricks Ben. Then he released, it was tactical
landing. The plane glides down from curse altitude, his
stomach lunges forward at the feeling of free-fall takes him
over. Some of the soldier begin to wake up. Perhaps this is
the meaning of the falling valley dream?
He gets a sensation of apprehension, curiosity of what the
war was going to be like. He also has a feeling that he has a
greater responsibility that he never thought he would handle.
A responsibility that seemed to be determined on the
concluding course of cosmic game, that will fall in favor of
the good. He slowly strokes his palms with his figures. He
grins wryly.
The plane begins to shake with turn at the free falling. It
is very eerie without engines droning. Ben is thrilled. The
roller-coaster like ride gets quite intense, the room's
lights flash into a dark room with a crimson light to
illuminate it. The planes rattles, soldiers wake up. Some
make panicked sounds, but the other reassure them they were
landing.
JULIAN
(delirious)
The engines! What? We're going
down! Guys!
MARCUS
Shhhh. No we're not. It's a
strategic landing. Take it easy
kid.
JUSTIN
But?
The engines blast back on. At the last moment, the plane is
about to land. The it roars and rattles. A massive boom
reverberates as the plane hits the tarmac taking in the
impact of the rough landing.
Then the echoing cracking opening of the tail door,
commences. The hydraulics whines and drone. Ben watches it
lower. Air thrashing inside, whipping across his bare face. A
breath of fresh air. Rejuvenating. Empowering. A new unknown
future.
87.

He closes his eyes and sees the engraved images of the dream
flash before him in the mind. Then the thrashing head of the
red hair giant. The bitter sweet taste in his mouth from
sleeping makes him gitty. His exhilarated for some reason.
Once he climbs down the ramp, there will be no turning back.
His time has come. With renewed vigor and motivation, he
clasps his bag, shoots up on his feet and flings it on his
back in a swift manor. He felt like some unknown force,
perhaps the apparition from the dream, had infused him with
its own power to charge on. He knows deep down that he is at
the right place, at the right time, but he doesn't know what
it means for him exactly.
BEN
(over the engines)
Suit up! Let's go!
The soldiers groggily get up with their Colonels also barking
similar commands. We see Julian wake up and rub his eye and
get ready. Casbolt, who was reading Descent of Angels by
Mitchel Scanlon, places it down and also gets ready.
Walking down the ramp, Ben and his team stride down on the
runway. The sky is a galaxy of stars.
Samarra Airport, Iraq - March 29th
As the whole crew in all gear was off, the plane immediately
pulls out, turns around to depart the airport to get fuel to
head back home. The roar of the plane gets quieter and
quieter until the Shinar Crew remain in the dark in complete
silence, beside the random scrawl of wind and crickets. Some
of the soldiers switch on their helmet lights. In a circle,
the team say their last goodbyes before the split up.
BEN (CONT'D)
Alright guys, this might be the
last time we are all together for a
while.
The marines nod. Casbolt stares at Ben and as they are about
to depart, he hold out his hand.
CASBOLT
Good luck Commander. It's an honor.
Ben shakes his hand smiling.
BEN
You too, friend. You go kill some
bad guys Captain America.
88.

Casbolt digs the title. He smiles and he is off following


Matthew Bogandos' team: SENTINELS to go south east to Baghdad
and the other team: the EAGLES to their checkpoints.
Ben watches them leave as he secures his gun in his hands.
POUNDERS
Right RANGERS, I have just
contacted a convoy to pick us up
here. Once they arrive, we will go
straight to the dam. No rest
breaks. Move it.
All we hear next is the crunching of feet on the gravel.
Everyone is too tired to speak. Ben turns on his helmet light
as the team in the dead of night traverse the barren terrain
to a dirt road. They open a creaky gate to access the road.
POUNDERS (CONT'D)
Rest here.
The soldiers hunker down. Julian leans his rifle on the gate
and sits on the dusty ground leaning on the fence. Ben next
to him remains standing, waiting for their ride.
BEN
How you feeling bro?
Beat.
JULIAN
Just want to get it over and done
with. It's an adventure.
After ten minutes waiting, a group of SUVs roll up. The
RANGERS get on board. Once everyone was on board, Ben leans
out the window and taps his helmet twice and rise his hand to
gesture 'all ready.' The driver nods and hops in and ignites
the engines and they are off.
Inside the dark trucks, Julian sighs, giving off a puff of
condensation from the cool air. He looks apprehensive and
marked with indifference. He knows something is not right
about the mission. Something was off in the air.
JULIAN (CONT'D)
(to himself)
Prefer the heat than freezing my
ass off.
The SUVs drive through the night. The moon is large and
bright.
89.

EXT. DESERT CANYON. NIGHT


A man in a suit has his back to us as he is speaking to two
Bedouin or Arabic looking men in very traditional and
elaborate clothing: head scarves, jewelry making them look
like assassins. They carry long curved swords with v-shaped
crossroads sheathed on their hips. In the pommels, they held
in place by four ribs, which looked like claws - a lapis
lazuli gemstone. The other has an aqua stone like Amazonite
at the pommel.
The man with his back to us speaks in Arabic over the droning
of a large machine behind us.
MARLOWE
Yabda. 'akhtar rakibi altanin
alakharin , alhamlan jahizat
lildhabh.
The Arabic men bow with approval and walk off, the robes
flailing behind from the bluffs of wind. Sand blows
everywhere. The man in the suit turns. It Agent Marlowe
Richards - his stern stone hard face and pointed chin makes
him look like a villain. His curved smile is evil and joker
like.
LONG SHOT of a massive UFO ship - the Minerva. It is got a
similar shape to Black Zero in Man of Steel. The top part of
the ship is shaped like a hammerhead shark. In between the
three claws at the bottom of the vessel, a single green cigar
like carrier, slipping from under the drilled hole the
Minerva made. It slowly raises into an opened compartment
under the Minerva. It spins open, as white light shines
forth. Once the tube was inserted into the Minerva. It slowly
prepares for lift off. The ship turns on its side. The three
claws compress together and its thrusters flare nova light.
In a blink of an eye, the ship zips away light-speed, beyond
the Antarctica wall.
