COURSE TITLE ADVANCED GENETICS

(Genetik Lanjutan)

COURSE CODE STB2122

CREDIT 2

PREREQUISITE/S STB1033 General Genetics

SYNOPSIS This course further extends the coverage of genetics concept in the
General Genetics course. The course is intended for students
interested in gaining further knowledge in four major areas of
genetics. Main topics include gene function, genomics, quantitative
genetics, gene mapping, gene regulation and molecular evolution. At
the end of this course students should be able to identify, define and
interpret the subjects in the topic.

fungsi gen, genomik, genetik kuantitatif, pemetaan gen,
pengawalaturan gen serta evolusi molekul.)

LEARNING By the end of this course, students will be able to:

OUTCOMES o Distinguish the concept of genes and their function in relation
to genomics. [C4, CT]
o Explain by recalling and describing the concept of quantitative
genetics.
o Display gene mapping in prokaryotic and eukaryotic
organisms. [P4]
o Categorize and display gene regulation in organisms. [C4]
o Point out the evolution processes at the molecular level. [C4]
