As a youth worker are you prone to get questions about

contraception from young people? c

 0cc

Oor over a period of years sex and young people have been a
growing issue all around the UK. In 2008 the NHS survey
national statistics show that 57% of young people between the
age of 16-19 were having unprotected sex. In 2009 it was seen
that 47% of young people between the ages of 13-15 are
sexually active and are either not using contraception or not
using it right. Is this because they have been led astray by
their peers or have these young people not been receiving
contraception advice and information early enough? We follow
pregnant teen Nafisat to explore her view on young people and
contraception?c

Do you think it is right for young people between the age of

13-15 to receive advice or actual contraception?

 0c

cSex is becoming very popular amongst young people between the

age of 13-15 as the years go on. Why is there a rapid increase
in teenage pregnancy and teenage abortion? Is it because they
are being exposed to information a bout contraception at an
early age, which may enable them to gain ideas or is it
something the British society will just have to sit back and
watch, so the question we need to ask ourselves, young people
and contraception is it right ? c

`here are different views and opinions on young people and
contraception, some people argue that it is wrong that young
people between the age of 13 and 15 should not be exposed to
such information at an early age, however some people argue
that young people of that age should be receiving
contraception and advice on it, as if they do think of ever
having sexual intercourse they would be fully aware of how to
use and the consequences of not using it, sexual health
