Continuing Professional Development Guidance

Professional Development Conference, seminars, workshops, webinars or forums. Must be verified by the company you work for by having
your manager/supervisor sign your CPD Log, certificate of completion, attendance roster, or similar. Must be
relevant toward the certification you obtain. Maximum 20 hours allowed per year.
Employment Must be verified by obtaining a letter from your employer on company letterhead from a manager/supervisor
who can verify your job title, duties, employment status and time with the company. Employment must be
relevant to our certification. Maximum of 60 hours allowed over a 3 year period.
Instructor Courses: All courses must clearly apply to the certification you obtain. Must be verified by either having your employer
Teaching or Leading sign your CPD log or submitting attendance list with your details as the instructor. Maximum 20 hours allowed
Courses per year.
Student Courses All courses must relate to the certification you obtain. Must be verified by submitting a certificate of attendance
Completed from the training provider. Maximum 20 hours allowed per year.
Certification Certifications awarded by technical or professional societies. Must be verified by submitting a copy of your
certificate or card from the technical or professional society. Allowing 10 hours per additional certification with
a maximum of 20 hours allowed per year.
Initial certification only. Must have been granted during the recertification period.
Meetings Participation in regular meetings with technical societies. Meetings must be technically or professionally based,
(Technical/Industry internal company meetings do not apply. Examples include, but are not limited to, local IEEE chapter meetings or
Association) similar.
Allowing 2 hours per meeting with a maximum of 10 hours per year.
Committees Committee work encompasses professional associations and must contribute to the advancement of the
certification discipline. Maximum 25 hours allowed per year.
Publishing Published articles or papers based on the current industry you are certified in including submissions for the
iNARTE newsletter.
Maximum 20 hours allowed per year.

To maintain your certification you are required to complete one of the following depending on the renewal you optioned:
 A total of 30 hours of CPD is required for 1 year renewal
 A total of 60 hours of CPD is required for 2 year renewal
 A total of 90 hours of CPD is required for 3 year renewal.
