Expert Lecture on “HTML5 & WEB DESIGN” was organized by the Department of
MCA on 11th August 2018. Mr. Vishwanath C R, Senior Asst. Prof., Department of MCA
organized the expert lecture for the subject “HTML5 & WEB DESIGN” for 5th Semester MCA
students.
Naveen Kumar Dinni ia a MCA graduate from VTU. He has an experience of 5 years in
the areas like JAVA/J2EE, Angular 4, Hadoop (Mapreduce, Hive, Sqoop, hbase, etc), HTML5,
CSS3, Bootstrap and JQuery. He is currently working in Spire Technology Pvt Ltd as software
developer. He has been involved in a web based project currently. He started his carrier as
technical support engineer at Spire Technology Pvt Ltd. He has contributed as core team member
and playing a key role in improving the organization process through web based projects.

HTML5 INTRODUCTION:
HTML5 Introduction was done by giving the abbreviation of itHyper Text Markup
Language 5(HTML)is a markup language for the structure and presentation of World
Wide Web contents.
HTML5 supports the traditional HTML and XHTML-style syntax and other new features
in its markup.
The DOCTYPE declaration of HTML5 is simple.
CANVAS:
In HTML5 the canvas element is used to draw graphics on web page.
JavaScript is used to draw graphics.
Methods used for drawing paths like boxes, circle, text and adding images.
Browsers support are: Google, Internet Explorer, Opera.
SVG:
SVG stands for Scalable Vector Graphics.
It is used to define the graphics for web.
Both Canvas and SVG was explained through a live example and how it works in
different Browsers.
GEOLOCATION IN HTML5
It is used for keeping track of the location of a user which was shown using an example
programming code.

Conclusion
This seminar was really interesting and it was very helpful and through an example we
came to know about many attributes and methods, and how it can be implemented or used in our
web page.
The session ended with a vote of thanks and appreciation to Mr. Naveen Kumar Dinni for
taking the time out to educate the students on HTML5. The students were interacted with the
speaker even after the end of the session.
