ONLINE LEARNING AT HOME– BEXLEY PUBLIC SCHOOL

Our school will be delivering student learning through ‘Google Classroom’ for students who are not
attending school and are completing their learning at home.

Stage-based weekly online learning packages for week 10 and week 11 will be made available through
‘Google Classroom’ and the school website.

Many students are familiar with accessing content through Google Classroom, especially our Stage 2 and 3
students. As well as the core stage-based weekly online learning packages, class teachers may assign
additional work for students to complete.

For those students unable to access online learning, offline learning packages will be made available for
pick up from the school office.

All students should be able to access their ‘Google Classroom’ by following the instructions below.

How to join ‘Google Classroom’

• Go to your student portal: portal.det.nsw.edu.au

• Log in with your username and password

• Once logged in, you will see your dashboard.

• Click on G Suite (Google Apps for Education)

We encourage students on their DoE
dashboard to access their emails regularly

• Validate your email.

 • Click on Google Classroom

• At the top, click Add Join class.

You are now in your Google Classroom.

1. At the top of the screen, click on ‘Classwork’.
2. This is where the learning tasks will be.

SHARING WORK and ASKING QUESTIONS

If you need to ask any questions, or share work with your teacher or class, follow the instructions below.
1. At the top of your ‘Stream’ you will see ‘Share with your class’. Click on this.
2. Enter your questions or what you want to share. You can also add an attachment to show your teacher
or class what work you have been doing.
3. Click ‘Post’.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU NEED HELP

Please remember that working in this way is new to everyone. If you have any trouble accessing ‘Google
Classroom’ or need help with your child’s log in etc., please send an email to: bexley-
p.school@det.nsw.edu.au with the Subject: Google Classroom Help.
We have organised for some staff to be available to support families with their access to ‘Google
Classrooms’ and they will contact you as soon as possible.
