Dear Ms.

Madeleine ,

I am an international student from Serbia studying at the University of Rochester and double majoring
in Computer Science and Optical Engineering. I was intrigued when I read about the Spurrier/Genesee
Team Lead position listed on the University’s Job Link website. I was interested in the sport ever since
I was a child. This led me to become a personal fitness coach and work at different gyms as a fitness
center attendant. That said, I would be delighted to join a team of your employees and contribute to
the effective operation of the facility.

By being a fitness coach and gym attendant, I improved my customer service and communication skills.
Strongman gym has had over 300 people coming to the gym every day, where I and two co-workers
were working as receptionists and fitness attendants. Daily obligations would vary depending on
customer needs. In most cases, we were checking people in and out, selling membership, ensure that
everyone is following the center’s policies and procedures for the safe and effective operation of the
facility. Collaborating with the supervisor, I have come up with new methods of preventing hazards,
which were approved and accepted later by the safety committee. I appreciate a lot working at
Strongman gym because I was able to get experienced in working effectively with a team of other
employees as well as collaborate with supervisors.

In addition to developing my team-oriented skills, I also have strong interpersonal and leadership skills,
gained through my experience of being a high school student council vice president. My high school
called “UWC Costa Rica” gave me an opportunity to spend a day to day life with students coming from
53 counties. As such, I initiated my student council team to join up with a local Costa Rican non-profit
organization “Lifting Hands” and raise money to renovate a local public school, providing its IT room
with new 26 computers. Being a high school student council vice president in such a diverse
environment helped me to improve my leadership skills and open my mind towards different people
and cultures. Collaborating with the team helped me to learn how to approach people coming from
different backgrounds, adapting to different work styles and skill sets, to create the most efficient ways
for achieving great results. I look forward to bringing those skills to Spurrier Team while working
alongside other employees.

I would be delighted to join Spurrier Team an contribute to the effective operation of the facility. I
would bring excellent customer service and communication skills. I would be a great fit for the team
because of my interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for working at the gym.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

I look forward to speaking with you about this employment opportunity.

Sincerely,

Hristijan Stojkovic
