Abstract
Photovoltaic energy is the conversion of light into electricity at the atomic
level, some materials in nature have conductive properties, also known as
photoelectric effect in which photons are absorbed and electrons are emitted,
The solar cells are made of semiconductor materials, grid material is used on
each side of the cell, as a positive side and a negative side, forming a circuit
and the electrons travel in the form of electric current, in the article, it is
reported in a simple way how it is a solar cell and that it was the space
industry that took interest in these as an alternative source of energy, they are
still in development, being semiconductor materials still investigates the way
to make them efficient and accessible.
