Q.1. Why was the farmer’s house in the middle of the farm?
Ans. The farmer’s house was in the middle of the farm as the farm was very close to a deep,
dark forest. There was no road to his farm and he was frightened of the deep, dark forest.

Q.2. What work did the oxen do on the farm?


Ans. Out of the four oxen the farmer had, two ploughed the field and pulled the farmer’s cart
and the other two drew water from the well.

Q.3. How did the oxen keep safe?


Ans: The four oxen were firm friends. They grazed together and returned together to their shed
at night. They would link horns and stand in a line if any wild animal tried to attack
them.

c) What is the suitable weather for sitting and swimming in the Mediterranean Sea?
Ans. The countries around the Mediterranean Sea have hot, sunny weather. This weather is
suitable for sitting on the beach and swimming in the sea.
