will help you complete all of them. You will find Nornirn chests, Odin's Ravens, Lore Markers or Artefacts. We
have created a richly illustrated walkthrough that will help you complete all main missions. You can also find
out how to reach secret realms, defeat 9 hidden bosses (valkyrie) and learn the gameplay basics. The God of
War returns on PS4 in 2018!

God of War in a nutshell

Her you can find a few most important information about God of War.
1. God of War is another installment of a popular third-person action series and is one of the most
important exclusive titles available on PlayStation 4.
2. The new God of War is a very long game and it offers about 30-50 hours of gameplay depending on
whether you want to discover everything or not.
3. This God of War is focused on plot. You will see the process of creating a bond between Kratos and his
son, Atreus. At first, the pacing may seem slower than that in the previous installments - however,
the game later gains momentum and players will encounter more and more dangerous dwellers of the
Nordic world.
4. Kratos uses his Leviathan axe throughout the game but later he will also get another weapon. We
don't want to spoil the fun here - the only thing we can say is that the combat system and the
combination of the two weapons is extremally satisfying.
5. You can spend a lot of time on exploring the world and discovering various secrets. Certain locations
and even whole realms are completely optional. A great example of that are Muspelheim and Niflheim
- both realms offer a lot of content but you don't have to visit them to complete the main storyline.
6. Character progression is a newly added feature - you can upgrade the main character, buy new
moves, upgrade gear and modify attacks with runes.
7. As for the difficulty, everyone will find something interesting. The default difficulty level can be
challenging while the highest levels are reserved for the most skilled players. Battles with Valkyries
done on higher levels resemble more challenging fights in Dark Souls.
8. The game is full of Nordic mythology which is conveyed perfectly. We can listen to tales, meet
interesting characters and visit different realms.
9. Currently, this is game has the highest rating among all PS4 exclusives. The quality can be felt
everywhere - God of War is a polished title that offers a memorable adventure even for the most
demanding players.
How long is God of War?

The length of God of War depends on your style of play. God of War on PS4 is much longer than the previous
versions of the series. This time, in order to complete the main plot itself, it is necessary to devote about 20-
25 hours of gameplay. You will also visit several worlds: Midgard, Alfheim, Helheim and Jotunheim. However,
the developers have tried to place a lot of additional content in the game - except the main plot, you can
fight against hidden Valkyries, search for Odin's Ravens, explore numerous islands in the area of Shore of
Nine. Thanks to this, the overall game time is significantly increased - in order to complete the game in
100%, you have to spend at least around 50-60 hours.

Basic tips
God of War - General tips
In this chapter you can read about general tips for God of War. You will find useful information about the
game content and key in-game mechanics. These features will help you in the journey of Kratos and Atreus.
Atreus is a really strong warrior in the later stages of the game.
 Development of Atreus. Initially, Atreus will be a weak companion, but over time, he becomes a
very strong character and an efficient archer. Try to develop his skills as soon as possible and buy him
a better armor on an ongoing basis - this will definitely help you to fight many enemies.
 Unavailable treasures/passages. During the game, you will encounter a lot of hidden treasures
and passages, which will be inaccessible at the beginning of your journey. You can return to them
later, when Kratos gets a second weapon which has the ability to destroy roots that entangle chests
with items.

You'll often return to the Shores of Nine - as time goes by, the location will discover more and more secrets.
 Shores of Nine. Quite quickly you will reach the Shores of Nine, an archipelago of islands where
you'll find plenty of extra activities. It is worth to spend some time exploring the lake, also after
lowering the water level, because new objects will flow out on the surface. In addition to silver barrels
(just sail through them by boat), there will also be stains of Aegir Gold. However, the most valuable
are the plants picked by Atreus (the legendary Nectars), which give a steady increase in skill if they
are in the possession of Kratos. They can be found near the Death Island, in the south-western part of
the lake. Special items are permanently put in the inventory and cannot be sold.
 Fight against stronger enemies. Some of the strongest opponents don't have a negative attitude
towards Kratos. It's not always worth attacking your opponents as soon as you see them, because
sometimes it's just better to run and pass them safely.
At first, I definitely recommend you to develop Atreus' skills and buy new moves for Leviathan Axe.
 Silver and experience points. In the game you can gain much higher amount of experience points
than it's required to develop all the skills from the skill tree. The same applies to silver - unique raw
materials are more valuable. See the material descriptions and the Resources tab for tips on how to
get them.
 Rock Detonation. The golden pile of stones, which is an unbearable barrier, can only be destroyed in
one way - by throwing the axe at a nearby red urn. It works like a typical exploding barrel.
To open a Nornir Chest you have to solve a riddle - usually related to runes and markings on the chest.
 Nornir Chests. This type of chest requires you to destroy three runes or hit three bells in a short
time interval. In each chest you will find a "piece" of object that enhances your maximum health or
rage bar - you need to complete three pieces of the same type to strengthen Kratos. In our solution
we described the location of all chests, together with videos on how to open them.
 Return to the old locations. The game is designed in such a way that you can easily return to most
of the lands later and explore them freely. This is necessary if you want to discover all the secrets of
the game.
Many puzzles are based on the axe throw.
 Axe Throw. The axe, thrown upwards, moves on a parabola. This should be taken into account when
trying to destroy an object or when attacking a target (e.g. the Raven of Odysseus) that is beyond
your reach. If the pointer does not appear when you try to aim, move it up a little so that the falling
axe reaches the target. The returning axe destroys everything on its way. Sometimes, reaching some
objects requires a bit of cleverness. If an object is protected by a barrier and you are unable to hit it
with a simple throw, you should find a place to place it behind an obstacle and then position yourself
so that the returning axe reaches the target along the way.
 Controls. You will quickly find out that controls are completely different than in the previous versions
of the series. You will mainly use R1 and R2 for attacks and cross to dodge. In the game options, you
will find the possibility to change the control to classic setting - although the default control is really
thoughtful, you just need to get used to it.
Wherever possible, upgrade weapons and armor. When you are lacking materials, remember that you can buy a lot of raw
materials from the blacksmith.
 Selecting Weapons. Most of the enemies are easily dealt with by the Leviathan Axe. In the fight
against blue enemies who look like they are made of ice, the second weapon of Kratos works much
better.
 Improving Equipment. You need to upgrade your equipment on an ongoing basis, or forge a new
armor while visiting the blacksmith. Even a small change in the statistics makes a big difference and
makes the game easier. Try to collect red boxes and explore the game's world and you'll get a lot of
materials to help you forge a strong equipment. Additionally, remember that you can improve every
part of the apparel - including Atreus armor.
Character progression for Atreus and Kratos

Character progression for Atreus and Kratos
This chapter contains the most important information regarding Kratos' character progression system in God
of War.

Kratos stats
Kratos has six different statistics:
1. Strength - increases damage dealt by all regular attacks.

2. Runic - increases damage dealt by using runic attacks and elements.
3. Defence - reduces received damage.
4. Vitality - increases the maximum amount of health.
5. Luck - increases your chance to activate various effects. Increases gained XP and Hacksilver.
6. Cooldown - reduces cooldown time for runic attacks, summons and talismans.
Each part of your equipment makes changes to the main stats of your hero. Kratos can be developed by
changing and upgrading pieces of equipment. Experience points are only for buying new skills.
Upgrading weapons
 At certain points in the game, you will be able to upgrade your weapon at the dwarves' shop. Some
upgrades are related to the story, e.g. when Sindri strengthens your weapon in-between quests.
 Battles with the Trolls are important here - defeating them can reward you with valuable materials
that can be used in upgrading a weapon which, in turn, makes Kratos even more powerful.
Upgrading Atreus
 Remember that Atreus accompanies you all the time. At first, the boy won't be that useful. However,
the boy will later become a powerful archer.
 Always try to get buy better equipment for the boy - upgrading his bow and getting a better quiver
are your priority.
 Later, you will unlock armors that increase Atreus' combat potential. Don't save your money on
upgrading Atreus - he is really worth investing XP and Hacksilver.
Dwarves' shop in God Of War

This chapter is dedicated to Dwarves' Shop in God Of War where you can, e.g. upgrade your gear and Atreus
equipment.

Crafting equipment in God of War
1. Visit any of the dwarves' shops to craft pieces of armor for torso, arms and waist. Each piece offers
different bonuses and can increase/decrease Kratos' stats.
2. Each part of armor requires a certain amount of materials. You can get them from chests, fallen
enemies or you can find them while you are exploring the world. Some of them can also be bought
from the dwarves.
3. You can also craft an armor for Atreus to increase his combat skills and have various effects, e.g. the
boy will deal more melee damage.
4. Pommel is another part of equipment that can be crafted - usually, it offers a certain chance (in
percentage) of activating an effect (extra health, stronger attacks) which is useful in fights.
5. You can also craft talismans - these powerful items offer you a chance of activating a special ability
such as slowing down time or a barrier that will protect Kratos from attacks.
Upgrading equipment
 Your equipment can be upgraded in the dwarves' shop. A small arrow and a circle is displayed next to
the level of each weapon - this informs you about a weapon's level and a potential for future
upgrades. For example, the item presented in the picture above can be upgraded to level six and
currently that item has upgrade level one of the fourth level.
 The same goes for crafting - you have to pay a certain amount of materials and Hacksilver to upgrade
an item. More valuable items require rare and hard to obtain materials.
 Some items can be enchanted - select a slot and place an enchantment into it to further increase
Kratos' stats. Better armors have, e.g. three enchantment slots which is very helpful for more
challenging battles.
Which items are worth buying?

 Always buy a resurrection stone - after some time you will be able to buy their better versions.
Thanks to this item Atreus can resurrect Kratos once per battle. They are useful in more difficult fights
where, e.g. you have to fight with enemies that have a higher level than yours.
 You should also look for valuable enchantments and materials. Over time, you will gain a lot of
Hacksilver and materials - you should definitely spend them in the store on an ongoing basis.

How to complete the game in 100% in God Of
War?
From the first minute God of War can overwhelm players with its scale and number of additional secrets.
Below you can find information on how to complete the game in 100%.
1. The main storyline. The campaign is rather long and it consists of 17 missions. This should take you
more than 20 hours.
2. Favours. You can complete 12 favours in Midgard. Usually, you have to help Brok and Sindri by
finding certain items. By doing that you can, e.g. unlock new locations.
3. Collectibles. Each area contains a few collectibles. You can find: Mystical Gateways, shops, Lore
Markers, Odin's Ravens etc. You can check your progress by opening the map screen - this makes
your searches a little bit easier.
4. Labours. They serve as challenges - the goal of majority of them is to "defeat an enemy X times" but
there are a few unique ones. To complete them you have to, e.g. find Jotnar shrines or Hidden
Chambers.
1. Valkyries. The game features 8 hidden bosses - extremally difficult enemies called Valkyries. Defeat
them all to challenge their Queen who is even more powerful.
2. Dragons that you can free. There are 3 of them.
3. Treasure Maps. They can be found while you are exploring the world - these maps point to locations
with treasures. The game has about 11 of them, and the treasures are scattered all over Midgard.
4. Artefacts. Another type of collectibles that can be found in locations - there are 7 sets of them and
each set consists of, at least, 4 pieces.
5. Muspelheim and Niflheim. You can visit optional realms - they offer new challenges and difficult
battles.
On top of that, you can also find a lot of codex entries that you can read whenever you want. The game is
packed with content - all of the aforementioned points are described in this guide so don't hesitate
and check them if you are in need!

• I personally recommend the first way of passing the game - by visiting more islands and new places,
you activate Mystical Gates, so the potential of returning to a selected location will be very fast. In
addition, you will strengthen Kratos when you do some extra activities and gain a mass of hidden

• After completing "The Sickness" mission you will be able to reach most of the secrets in the game.
Some locations will still be inaccessible, but you are able to visit a lot of lands and get access to a lot

The world of God of War is really huge and the journey between some places takes a long time. Fortunately,
you can use the so-called Mystic Gateways:
1. You can unlock the mystic gateways early during the game, shortly after you visit the Shores of Nine.
2. Initially, the mystic gateways will only offer a return to the Brok store, which resides in the Tyr's
Temple. Over time, you will be able to travel between different gates, which will make it easier to
return to previously visited places.
3. To use a gate, you must approach it and it will be activated. From now on it will be on the list of
available places for teleportation.
4. After using the gate, you'll find yourself in a Between the Realms location. It's an interactive "charging
bar" where you'll have to stay for a while. Once the location is loaded, a teleport will appear, use it,
and you will move to the destination.
5. Other worlds, such as Helheim and Alfheim, are an exception - you have to move to them through the
Chamber of the Realms in the Tyr's Temple. When you're there, you can use the mystic gateways of
the desired realm and jump from one point to another.
6. The game does not provide for an immediate use of fast travel at any time - you always have to use a
mystic gateway. Fortunately, they have been scattered very densely and practically every location in
the game has at least one of them.

adventure. The creators decided to expand the history and the latest version of the game is the beginning of
a great adventure. The first part of the series focuses mainly on building the relationship between father and
son, who build trust between themselves and experience their first adventures together.
In the latest God of War, the creators have just laid the foundations for further editions, in which Kratos and
Atreus will play a significant role. What's interesting, at the end of the game our spartan discovers a painting
of his death. It cannot be ruled out, that in the subsequent editions it will end tragically - unless the destiny
is deceived once again and the God shall survive. In the meantime, Kratos will once again win the duel with
other Gods!
Can Atreus die in God of War?

Atreus will usually stand far away and shoot your enemies at your command.
Atreus is the son of Kratos and your companion throughout the game. He also takes part in most of the fights

The answer is - no. Enemy blows can, at most for a moment, put Atreus out of balance, so that he can't
use his bow. But after a while, he will return full of strength to the battle. The boy does not have a health bar
and is actually indestructible. In addition, he usually stays away and uses mainly a bow to fight.
Furthermore, some enemies are able to catch Atreus and the boy will then call for help. However, without
fear - even without our intervention, the opponent will finally get bored of the boy and let him go slowly,
without killing him. So you don't have to worry at all about the life of Kratos's son - he will be more and more
useful in the battle and you will never have to worry about the possibility of his sudden death.
What is the easiest way to get Odin's Ravens in

God of War?
Odin's Ravens are one of the finds in God of War. Spectral Ravens are quite difficult to locate and, what is
worse, they count towards the percentage of completion of numerous lands. In the game you will find 51
ravens, hidden in various locations. Sometimes the raven is on a tree, at other times they're not that far
from Valkyries and it is very easy to miss them.
To make it easier to find them, the next time you see one, approach it and listen to it for a moment.
Ravens produce a quite characteristic jumble, which is rather hard to confuse with another type of sound.
Birds are often quite noisy and when you walk around them, they start making sounds that should alert you
and make you start exploring the area. Personally, that's the only way I've found all the ravens in the game -
some of them are incredibly well hidden.

1. Strength - Increases damage of all standard attacks.

 As you attack your enemies, you'll quickly notice that in addition to the melting health strap, you fill
the second indicator - the stun level. When the enemy stun bar becomes red, a red circle appears -
you can approach the enemy, press the button, and the finishing move will start.
 The enemy will be defenseless for a few seconds - it's a good idea to use your valuable time to
perform the finisher, or simply to continue attacking the beast. Sometimes the finishers are not
advisable, because you can inflict more damage on the Ancient one by throwing the axe right into his
exposed heart.
 Weaker enemies can be killed by a finishing move right away, which can be particularly useful.
Sometimes you need to press the designated buttons to deal more blows and weaken the enemy.

In this chapter, you will know how to get Smouldering Ember resource in the God of War. To obtain this type
of resource you have to get to Muspelheim:
1. Smouldering Ember is a reward for completing trails in Muspelheim, where you have to defeat
enemies and fulfill specific challenges.
2. You can obtain a lot of Smouldering Ember by completing the final trial in The Realm of Fire. To
start the trial, you have to complete at least three trials on the "Impossible" difficulty level.
3. After you successfully accomplish all of these trials, get to the sword at the end of this Realm and
begin the final Surtr's Hidden Trial.
4. Your task is to defeat as many enemies as possible in a given time. If you get the bronze rating, you
get 20 Smouldering Embers. For the silver rating you can get 35 Smouldering Embers, and for
gold you will get as much as 50 pieces of this valuable crafting material.
5. With the use of Smouldering Embers you can create rare and valuable items and upgrade many pieces
of your equipment. It's worth to regularly finish further trials in Muspelheim in order to strengthen
Kratos and Atreus.
How to unlock the Secret Ending in God of War?
This section describes how to get to the so-called "secret ending" in God of War. Below you will find the most
important information related to this scene: how to reach the secret ending, what's in it and what influence
this ending has on the whole adventures of Kratos and Atreus.
1. To reach the secret ending, you must complete the main storyline and scatter the ashes of your
mother from the highest peak of Jotunheim. After that, you'll see the final subtitles and a few
cutscenes.
2. When you return to the Tyr's Temple, you will learn that the world has changed a little during your
absence, including the mighty winter that prophesies Ragnarok - the end of the world.
3. Travel to Wildwoods and enter the hut. There is a new option available - you can stand near the bed
and use it to rest.
4. After Atreus and Kratos fall asleep, you will witness the "secret ending". In the ending, you will see
two heroes woken up by an incredible storm. After they wake up, they will go outside, where a
mysterious figure awaits them. As it turns out, it will be Thor, who apparently wants to avenge the
death of his sons.
5. That's all - this short scene is a typical teaser, which intrigues the player and leaves him with the
following question: When will Kratos face Thor and who shall emerge victorious from this
duel?
6. After the scene, you can freely explore the world and complete additional activities. Unfortunately, it is
not possible to see the secret ending again.
Walkthrough
In this chapter you'll find some information that is worth checking before you start your adventure with God
of War. Our solution covers all main and side quests as well as side activities and works.
The following chapters contain walkthroughs for the main story line; lists of Nornir chests and ways of reaching the red
chests.
 The main story line. These chapters can help you deal with the challenges of the main story line.
Our walkthrough contains descriptions of all missions, offers video solutions to puzzles and has tactics
for the more challenging fights.
 Secrets and collectibles. During the campaign you reach new lands and visit the vast terrains of
Midgard. The game contains a tremendous number of hidden treasures, challenges and collectibles -
check a dedicated page to each of the lands to learn about the locations of all secrets. There,
you can find a list of things to unlock, information on where to find them, and watch helpful videos!
Nornir chests contain items that can permanently increase your health and rage.
 Nornir chests. The walkthroughs for the mission don't contain information about collectibles but
Nornir chests are the exception - thanks to the guide you can easily reach these upgrades that will
permanently increase your health and rage.
 Upgrades and character progression. Try to complete side missions as you are progressing
through the game and exploring the world. You can find a lot of upgrades and better equipment which
will make the fights easier. From time to time the game informs you that "maybe it is time for
exploration?" - this means that you should take a break from the main story line and embark on a
new adventure.
Many of the locations are visited multiple times - secrets of the hidden chambers can be discovered, e.g. when you are
halfway through in the game.
 Visit previously explored lands. You can go back to the previously visited location to find
collectibles or to complete side missions. Overtime, you will get new abilities and unlock access to
hidden chests, paths and other secrets. Don't be in a hurry to complete the game in 100%.
 The game's length. The story line itself takes about 25-30 hours to beat. However, the game will
last much longer if you get immersed in the world and try to find all collectibles etc.
 Difficulty level. This guide is based on the default difficulty level - "Balanced experience". Your
current difficulty level can be changed at any moment in the game's options (excluding the last, most
difficult, level). Watch out - higher difficulty levels can be really tough, and the optional boss fights
challenging!
Important - we recommend opening the chapter with secrets from a given location in a separate browser
tab if you care about unlocking all secrets (chests, Odin's Ravens etc.). These chapters contain a list of, e.g.
collectibles that can be found in a given region.
The Marked Trees Quest in God of War

Walkthrough
This chapter contains the walkthrough for the beginning of Kratos and Atreus' adventure - The Marked Trees
mission. Here, you will explore the first location of God of War - Wildwoods.

Head down the river
 Kratos is cutting a tree. Press R1 a few times, pick up the wood and follow Atreus. Get in the boat and
reach the opposite shore. Head towards the cabin. Watch the cut-scene which depicts the last
moments of Atreus' mother and Kratos' beloved.
Go hunting with Atreus
These chests contain silver.
 Time to hunt with Atreus. Run forward - you will come across the first optional artifact. Remember
that secrets from all regions are described in the separate chapter.
 Keep following the boy. Jump above a hole in the bridge. You can collect a little bit of silver and find a
lesser chest. Throughout the game you will come across numerous situations like this one - try to
explore each location carefully (if you want to; however, additional silver or crafting materials are
always useful).
 Reach the obstacle on the bridge, take out your axe and throw it at said obstacle. Then, you have to
jump forward. Watch a cut-scene and prepare yourself for your first fight. Use this moment to practice
a little bit and see what your weapon is capable of.
 Follow Kratos' son. Soon, you will reach a fork. Here, you can get your first Nornir chest. Go right and
enter a crypt. Destroy three runes to get access to the content of the chest. Inside you will find
Idunn's Apple - collect three apples to increase your health bar permanently.
 Go back and head into the opposite direction. Slide down the chain, defeat wolves and open the red
chest.
 You can continue. Follow the boy. You come across new enemies. After that you have to go back to
the exit and go through the door on the right. Defeat a few more wolves and open another red chest.
 Go back to the hall. Approach the spinning wheel and lift the gate. Don't let the wheel go! - aim your
axe at the mechanism above the gate to freeze it. Before you leave the chamber, you should go to the
room on the right and open another red chest.
 Outside, you have to go left and climb the chain up - open another red chest. Approach the grates and
aim your axe at the symbol above the bomb - it falls on the ground and you will get a little bit of
silver.
 Go up the stairs and you will find the first Jotun altar which belongs to, so called, Labours - optional
challenges. In this example you have to find 11 altars scattered around the entire world. Their list can
be found in the separate chapter.
 Go back on the main path and follow the trails of an animal. You come across a deer - draw the bow
and aim at the animal. Sadly, a troll will appear. This is the first challenging battle.
Defeat the troll
 This troll is a rather easy enemy to defeat. You have to keep a safe distance and let him attack. Hit
the enemy only when it reveals itself. This is also a good moment to test your dodges - you absolutely
have to avoid his attacks because they deal a lot of damage.
 Throw your axe or order Atreus to shoot from his bow when you are away from the enemy.
 If you get hurt, you can search for a green crystal and crush it to get a little bit of health back.
Return to the house
 Approach the wall and help Atreus to climb up. Follow him. You will come across new enemies. The
game informs you about the option to stun opponents which, in turn, lets you perform executions.
 Fight with the enemies, practice attacks and stuns. You should also get accustomed to giving orders to
Atreus - thanks to his arrows you can stun enemies faster and speed up fights.
Hidden chambers can be opened later - behind their gates you can find, e.g. hidden bosses.
 You will come across the first hidden chamber. You can open it later - for now, you should stick to the
main story line.
 A mysterious man appears in the house... He turns out to be a very powerful being. Time to defend
Atreus from a tough enemy!
Defeat the Stranger
 Time for a boss fight. At first, the Stranger will provoke you to attack him. This is a good chance to
learn his moves. Dodge his attacks and charges. Perform counters in the right moment.
 After depleting most of his health bar you can see a few cut-scenes during which you will have to
press the right buttons.
 Your enemy got his health back, and Kratos is now in rage mode. Attack the enemy with new and
powerful attacks. Go back to the old tactics once the rage mode ends.
 Go back home... The Stranger won't leave you in peace. He attacks Kratos with twice the power. The
enemy throws you into abyss - climb up and continue the fight.
Time for the third round. You both regenerate your health but this time the enemy is even faster and better
at combat. Dodge, watch out for his aerial attacks and avoid his charges. Remember to parry enemy attacks
and hit him when you get an opportunity.
 Lastly, press L3 + R3 to break the Stranger's neck and finish this fight.
Return to the house
 The fight was heated - Kratos won but he is wounded. Go to the house and see if Atreus is alright.
 The first mission is now complete - you get 350 XP. However, this is just the beginning of a great
adventure!
Path to the Mountain Quest in God of War

Walkthrough
This chapter contains the walkthrough for "Path to the Mountain" mission in God of War. Kratos and Atreus
want to fulfill the dying woman's last wish - she wants to have her ashes scattered from the highest
mountain.

Journey to the mountain
 Time to continue the journey. Spend experience points and then move forward. Walk on the narrow
edge, jump to the other side and then climb up. You have reached a cave.
 There is a hanging bucket on the right from the entrance - knock it down and collect silver. Then,
approach the spinning wheel and lower the bridge - aim with your axe at the mechanism to freeze it.
Approach Atreus, lift him up and order to throw down the chain.
 You are now on the upper level. Go right and jump towards the chest with silver. Go back on the
bridge and climb up. Another chain can be found on one of the ledges - throw it down. Then, you have
to climb up again.
 Keep moving until you reach the end of Wildwoods. Pick up silver from the corpse and move forward.
You now have to face a group of draugrs. Defeat them and then look around the area (destroy, e.g.
vases and collect a little bit of silver). After that you have to climb up.
Continue towards the mountain
 A single enemy awaits you at the top - defeat him and move forward. A gold chest can be found on
the right - this is a, so called, legendary chest (their list can be found in one of the chapters) and it
contains valuable loot. However, most of these chests are well-hidden. This one contains a rune -
equip it to strengthen Kratos.
 Keep moving forward, pick up the column and follow Atreus to the bridge. You are now on the lower
floor - a group of enemies awaits you here. Use the newly acquired rune and try to fight single
enemies. Remember to throw the axe at the enemy that will try to shoot you from above.
 Approach the obelisk with runes and read them. New enemies appear - armored draugrs that attack
with powerful weapons. Their strikes hurt a lot so pay close attention to them and dodge their attacks.
 After that you have to climb the wall and move forward. Jump down to Atreus and proceed forward.
Collect silver from the fallen soldiers and head towards the creature that is humming a melody.
 You now have to face a Revenant - this is a new and very powerful enemy. To hurt him you have to
order Atreus to shoot it with his bow - thanks to that the enemy becomes vulnerable for a brief
moment. Avoid the monster's projectiles and try to approach it from an angle.
 Jump on the remains of the bridge. Knock down the bucket with silver. Go right and open the red
chest. Jump to the other side and face a draugr. Here, you can also find another Nornir chest.
The video above explains how to open it.
 Open the chest and go back a bit. This area is worth exploring - you can find a Jotun altar, get a
scroll, and move down into a recess where you will have to fight for another red chest.
 Jump forward when you are ready to open a lesser chest on the right. You reach a place where you
will have to fight another challenging battle. First, defeat a few regular draugrs. After that a few
armored draugrs will appear. You have to use rage. Remember to perform rolls and dodges.
Pick up silver and lower the bridge - you have to aim the axe at the sign located below. Move forward and
open the red chest on the right. Go back to the gate and open it.
Fight of the Reavers
Reavers will appear. Defeat them quickly. The enemies "go back to life" after a short cut-scene. Kill them
again.
Escape the ruins
Time to escape from the ruins. Move closer to the wooden boards and lift Atreus up. The boy lowers a chain
for you - climb it. Move forward - follow the narrow edge.
 You hear someone's voice - follow its source (you can also collect a red chest on your way). Throw the
axe at the tree on the right side of the bridge to proceed forward.
 It turns out that Brok is one of the brothers who forged your axe. The dwarf offers you weapon
upgrades - this is a short tutorial that explains how to upgrade equipment and how to buy from the
shop.
 You can test your newly upgraded weapon - a few new enemies will appear. Head towards the closed
gate. Turn left. Lower the bridge and slide down the chain. Reach another red chest.
 You can now proceed through the gate and enter inside the mountain. As always, aim at the
mechanism, located above the gate, freeze the gate itself and proceed forward. Go through the
narrow passage and then aim at the upper right corner of the spike trap. This moves it and reveals a
new passage.
 Repeat this action and move forward. A red chest can be found behind the niche in the wall. Turn
around, aim at the corner of the spiked gate and open the chest.
 Go forward until you reach a spike trap. Aim at the wooden sign to "twist off" the trap. Then, you
have to throw the axe at the mechanism on the bottom. Jump forward.
 A rather large wave of enemies appears - defeat them; you can also recall your axe and go back to
Atreus to crush a few of the monsters. Win the fight and go back on the arena. Destroy the barricade
on the left and open the small chest with silver.
 Recall the axe and aim at the corner of another spike barrier. Move forward and turn around. You can
now open another Nornir chest (check the video above).
 Go outside, watch the cut-scene and follow Atreus. Let the boy to decipher the riddle. You have to
turn around, get on the hill and activate the puzzle's mechanism.
 Your new task is to shoot the mechanisms in a such way that they will create a rune. The solution
can be found in the video above.
 Enter the cave and follow Kratos' son. Time for another hunt!
Hunt with Atreus
 Both characters are hunting another animal. Jump down... and face another troll. This one uses fire.
The enemy is very similar to the troll you have fought before - watch out for its new flame attacks.
 Look around the area, collect loot and head towards another Nornir chest. This time you have to find
three bells and hit them to open the chest. The solution for that puzzle can be found above.
 When you are done, you can go to the cave and jump down. As Atreus, you have to aim at the animal
and shoot it. The creature is invulnerable to arrows - chase it!
 Jump down into an old village and explore the cabins. You will find a little bit of silver. Move forward.
 A group of enemies will appear. Use Leviathan to kill them. Then, pick up the stone block and watch
the cut-scene.
Find Atreus
 Time to find Atreus who ran after the wild animal. Run forward - you are in a labyrinth. Find the boy
by following his voice.
 Go right, then left, then go right and left again - you reach the boy. He is accompanied by a
mysterious woman.
Follow the Witch and save the boar
 Help to save the boar. Carry it to the Witch's cabin. Put the animal on the table and go to the garden
to collect healing herbs.
 Get closer to the white flowers and pick them up. Then, you have to go to Atreus and speak with him.
Go to the Witch.
Get to the boat and boat towards the light
1. From now on you can use the Witch's compass - it tells you about your current goal and helps you
navigate the lands.
2. You come across a peculiar green circle and a few red crystals - these obstacles can be removed later.
The legendary chest located in this area is easy to find (it contains a good talisman). At the bottom of
the cave you can push the chest to get access to another red chest.
 Head to the boat when you are ready and leave the cave. The compass shows you the direction - boat
towards the ruins of a temple. Atreus will read the rune that can be found in that place. You wake up
Jormungandr. Luckily for you, the monster is friendly.
 You can now explore the nearby islands, find a lot of collectibles and do Brok a favour. Thanks to
exploration you can find better gear which will help you in the upcoming missions.
Dock at the bridge and investigate the temple
1. You can continue your adventure by going to the marker on the compass. Speak with Brok - he
opened his shop here. The dwarf gives you a stone that allows you to move to his shop - you can do
that by using the Mystic Gateways. For now, this is a one-way journey so go back only when you are
sure that a given location has nothing more to offer.
Run through the huge bridge and head towards the top of the mountain. You come across new enemies.
Also, you learn that Atreus can now attack enemies by using physical attacks which have stun properties.
This is very useful - Kratos' son is turning into a true warrior!
Pass through the tower and the caves
1. Open the gate and move forward. Be careful, there are new enemies ahead. Use Atreus' ranged
abilities and try to stun the foes.
2. You come across a yellow flame and a torch. Aim your axe at the torch to put out the flame. This
reveals a passage that will lead you forward. Repeat this action a few times until you reach a chest
with silver. Inside you can find a code (you have to find four of them to be able to read
certain runes and to unlock a new world that can be explored - Muspelheim).
Climb up and go right. You reach a new location - Foothills. You meet Sindri, Brok's brother. He can upgrade
your axe.
1. Leave the shop. You will be attacked by a large group of enemies. Defeat them and go right - you
come across another Nornir chest. Recreate the runes presented on the nearby signs to open it
(the solution can be found in the video above).
1. You can also open two red chests. The first can be opened by throwing the axe at the fire above the
stone (right above the chest). The second chest (the one next to the crane) can be opened by
throwing the axe at the fire right behind Sindri's tent.
2. The third red chest can be found a few steps ahead - climb up (left from the Nornir chest) and
deactivate two smoke traps.
You can continue your journey. Jump down and head towards the mountain. Defeat another group of
enemies and wolves. After that you have to detonate the bombs and open the red chest.
1. Move forward... You are attacked by an Ogre! This large enemy is very tough - be very careful, you
don't want to be defeated.
2. Use dodges, attack carefully when you get a chance and remember that you can throw your axe. Also,
you have to watch out for nearby enemies - deal enough damage to the Ogre and you will be able to
mount it and use it to defeat the rest of the monsters.
1. After defeating this monster, you get, e.g. Frozen Flame - thanks to it you can upgrade Leviathan at
the blacksmith and unlock new abilities.
2. Go through the gate and head towards the black smoke. Sadly, the path to the mountain's top is
blocked. The Witch appears - this ends the mission. You receive 2,000 XP.
A Realm Beyond Quest in God of War

This chapter contains a solution to "A Realm Beyond" quest from God of War. It's a very short mission - a
prelude to the first visit in Alfheim.

Follow the witch
1. Follow the witch. She will tear down the roots, allowing you to use the lift. Use it to go down - you will
save a lot of time and permanently unlock this shortcut.
2. Enter the cave and proceed forward. You will reach the Tyra shrine - on your way, you will encounter
some collectibles, but we'll take care of them later.
Go to the lower level of the shrine and wait for the witch to create the ghost bridge.
Realign the bridge
Set up the bridge so that you can get to different worlds. Interact with the mechanism and let Kratos
demonstrate his godly power.
Follow the witch
Go back to the witch. She will take you to the chamber, from which you can go to different realms. Right
now, you only can set out to Alfheim. Don't worry though, you'll get a chance to visit other realms soon
enough.
Travel to Alfheim
1. Go to the center of the chamber and choose Alfheim as the destination.

2. If you haven't done it before, you could devote some time to explore the islands. You will participate
in a few quite difficult fights, so try to prepare.
The Light of Alfheim Quest in God of War

This chapter will take you through The Light of Alfheim quest in God of War. It's about time to visit a new
realm, Alfheim, and obtain the light that can break all darkness.

Find a way to the Light
Approach the plant that's glowing in red. You have to throw an axe at it in order to clear the way forward.
Repeat the trick and proceed. Open the small chest on the right and break another plant.
1. Go forward and you'll encounter new type enemies - dark elves. They will be your adversaries in this
realm. They're fast, attack with a charge and can dodge your blows well. You have to keep on your
toes.
2. After the fight, break another plant and proceed forward. Open the violet chest on the right and go to
the left. You will see Sindri - he's a blacksmith; you can trade with him if you want.
Free the boat
1. In order to escape the island, you have to free the boat up - take a position that will let you destroy
three plants with a single throw. If you have a hard time doing it, check out the clip above.
2. After you do that, get to the boat and start rowing.
Get to the ringed temple
Use the compass to navigate your way towards the target. On your way, you will notice a glowing branch -
get near it and pick the fruit. It will permanently increase the renewal time factor by 2.
1. Keep going - you will reach an open location, where you will be able to explore smaller islands and
collect additional items. You should also make the effort and reach the Nornir chest. The details are
included in the clip above.
2. Now proceed towards the light and into the temple. The bridge will be deactivated and a bunch of
elves will come - fight them.
Now use the spinning wheel to open the gate. Defeat the remaining enemies and use the other lever to
create a rune.
Find a way into the temple
Board the boat and sail towards the ash urn. Let Atreus decipher it and the secret passage to the temple will
be revealed.
1. Down there, another group of elves has to be dealt with.

2. Proceed forward. More elves will attack. This time, for the sake of variety, an armored draugr will be
among them.
You will find another Nornir chest nearby - use the mechanism and freeze it in order to reach all runes.

Use the mechanism and take the underground passage. Climb near the edge and you will be captured by
some enemies. Use the Spartan Rage and defeat the enemies. After the fight, drop the boulder on another
group of enemies.
1. There are more enemies on the other side - deal with them. Then drop down and destroy the plants to
create a ghost bridge.
1. Cross the bridge and climb onto the platform above to face another group of enemies. You will also
encounter a Stone Ancient, who's quite a demanding enemy.
2. You have to wait until the enemy reveals the light inside him, which he mainly does when attacking.
When you see that, throw the axe a few times and the enemy will lose some HP and drop some
explosive fragments onto the ground. Pick them up and throw them back at him to take some more
HP and stun him.
3. Watch out the energy beam projects - it deals massive damage. Just roll out of the way to avoid
getting hit.
After the fight is over, destroy the core at the center to reveal another ghost bridge. Use it to get to the
temple.
Enter the temple
Enter the lift and go up. Go to the bridge and try to open the gate - it will be closed, so you'll have to find
another way.
Find another way into the temple
Go left and you will reach a door that's completely overgrown with vegetation. Again, you have to cut all
three creepers with a single throw to unlock the passage.
1. In order to open the chest, you will have to throw the axe at the three bells. The clip above shall
help you do it.
2. Go to the right and do some shopping at the blacksmith. Enter the crack next to him and proceed
forward. Explosive enemies are in front of you - use the bow and fling the axes to avoid taking
damage.
3. Some very powerful elves are next. They're also very agile; the battle will be fierce, so stay focused.
Not far from here, you can obtain a red chest by destroying the creepers.
1. Jump to the wall and use the ledge to go further - you will witness the death of a light elf. Fight the
enemies and kill the dark elves.
2. When you're done, destroy the core and create another light bridge. Defeat the group of suicidal
beasts and move on.
3. Destroy another core and proceed along the trail to the temple.
Get to the nest and examine it
1. Destroy the creepers growing around - remember that you have to cut all three at the same time.
2. Climb to the nest and use the narrow passages to quickly get to the center of the nest.

Destroy the hive and claim the light
1. Approach the core and destroy it. You will be immediately attacked by a swarm of elves.
2. You have to tear through the enemies - they're rather weak, but at the same time numerous. Try to
get to another creeper and destroy it quickly.
Enter the light - a peculiar segment of the game will begin: Kratos will have a vision, reminiscing some past
events.

Find a way out of the temple
1. At the summit, Atreus saves Kratos, who no longer is a prisoner of his memories. Approach the boy to
unlock a new skill for Atreus - he can now use ghost arrows to create new passages.
2. Cross the bridge and go lower. Approach the crystal on the ground and place it underneath the red
chest. Order Atreus to shoot the crystal with his arrow and open the chest.
1. Take the blue crystal and place it on the second pedestal. Create a ghost bridge and proceed forward.
2. Stand at the right angle, destroy the creepers and open the smaller chest.

Cross the other bridge and defeat the enemy. Activate the crystal. Destroy the creepers to proceed forward.
Go back to the source of light on the upper platform and take care of the unit of dark elves. Shoot at the
crystal and cross the bridge you've hence created.

Defeat the enemies, look up and shoot the crystal down. Pick it up and take it up the stairs and to the right.
Drop it anywhere and activate it with an arrow.
Cross the bridge you've created, and destroy the creepers to reveal another gap. You can easily open the
fourth and the last chest of Nornir in Alfheim. Check out the video solution above if you need a quick
resolution of the puzzle.

After you've opened the chest, you can transfer the crystal over to the unlocked gap. Help Atreus to get

Use the sand bowl lift
Now get to the lift and descend to the underground complex again. Down there, you should open the chest
and keep moving forward.

1. Unfortunately, the passage will be closed, and you will be stuck. Defeat the enemies and shoot the
blue crystal. Eliminate new enemies, go back and light up another crystal.
2. You will get to a room with cells - look up and knock off the crystal. Defeat enemies that have come
out of the cells and pick up the crystal. Take it to the room next door, put it on the pedestal and light
it up.
1. A small logic puzzle - you have to set the marks in the same pattern as can be seen on the door. You
will find the solution in the video above.
Now take the crystal and place it in the hall in order to create a bridge and be able to proceed further. Search
the cells and use the bowl to begin the boss fight.

The fight with this boss is a lot like fighting regular elves. He's fast; he steps back and immediately attacks.
The explosions on the ground are a novelty - if you're hit by one, you will receive a lot of damage, and the
area will succumb to darkness. You have to be watchful; the enemy will be able to spot you easily.
When the enemy charges, dodge and counterattack. Do that until you kill him. Meanwhile, make sure Atreus
constantly fires at the enemy.

1. You will reveal a hidden passage - go through it. Shoot the crystal to light up the room a little and
jump down. Move forward, pick up the boulder and defeat the group of enemies.

Traverse the Dark Caves

1. You will reach a really spacious room, in which there are numerous things to find - some of the
secrets, however, will be unlocked at a later stage of the game.
Approach the large spinning wheel and try to activate it - unfortunately, it will be blocked and a new wave of
enemies will appear. It's time to get rid of them!
Free the Chain and Find a way to Ascend
1. Once the encounter is over, head to the tunnel with the light. There you will stumble upon Brok's
store - you can use his services if you want.
2. Get on top of the shelf located above the store, go through the tunnel and open the red chest. Follow
the trail and you will eventually come across a trap.
3. Aim at the sign next to the passage and quickly run through the tunnel with spikes.

Approach the wagon, disconnect it from the rope and push it under the gate. Afterwards, climb up the
wagon, go through the bridge and jump into a hole to open a red chest.
Get back to the wagon, go to the left and defeat the enemies. Climb up the remains of the ladder and open
the next red chest.

You can continue your journey - go to the corridor with light, remove the boulder and lift the gate. Now drop
the chain and lift the gate.
Now approach the large boulder and push it to release the gripper. Head to the wagon and push it, causing a
troll to appear.

1. The encounter with the troll is similar to the previous ones - you must focus on dodges and wait for
the enemy to swing in order to attack him. The Spartan frenzy also works perfectly, making this entire
duel easier.
2. It is worth getting back to the blacksmith to improve Leviathan - this will make the upcoming fights

You must now go up the shaft. Approach the spinning wheel operating the crane, set it so that the gripper is
at the bottom and freeze the mechanism. Get back to the wagon, push it to the end of the route, climb it up

Reach the Summit
1. Go forward - there are flame traps waiting for you here. You need to feel the moment to run through
them without sustaining damage.
2. You will soon reach a rotating trap. Hide behind the pillars and move on. Enemies will appear in the

Once the encounter is over, approach the spinning wheel and turn off the flaming trap. Open the red chest
and continue the march.

Go to the next lift and drop the boulders into the abyss. The lift will start and unwanted guests will appear - it
is best to just drop them into the abyss.
1. After a short while the lift will get stuck - approach the blocked place and unlock it to continue your
journey to the top.
2. New enemies will appear. This time they will bring an ogre with them, making this a more difficult
encounter. Try to mount the beast and use it against other enemies.

Unlock the lift again. The enemy will appear, but this time it's a dragon! Attack the beast, striking its huge
claws and watch out for the enemy attacks.
1. After a while, you must use the lift to attack the dragon. Phew - for now you are safe.
2. A red crystal will fall on the ground, causing a reaction and blowing up the boulders. Use this
opportunity and move on. From now on, you can use those crystals to detonate - pick up the closest
one and throw it into the electrified passage.

Go through the narrow passage and repeat the trick with the crystal. Go forward and you will eventually
come across the dragon again. This time it's time to take care of the beast for good!
Defeat the dragon
Go towards the dragon and jump on its back. Once you are in the jaws of the beast, chop it as much as you
can!

1. It is time for the actual fight. The dragon is quite an easy enemy, because it is slow and the attacks
are easy to dodge. Your task is to pick up the crystal and throw it into the beast's mouth when it
breathes lightning.
2. While the enemy is stunned, you will be able to freely attack it and take some of its health.
3. Once the stun is over, the enemy will stand on its paws and will start creating shockwaves - you need
to neutralize them with the shield. Approach the beast and attack its paws, dodging attack at the
same time.
4. Once the enemy starts breathing lighting, you need to repeat the trick with the crystal.
The fight consists of the above-mentioned phases. At the end of the encounter you can use the lift to finish
off the beast.

Reach the summit

Once the encounter is over, speak with Sindri. The dwarf will be grateful for saving his life and will teach you
how to use electrified arrows. From now on you will be able to destroy red crystals - which is also helpful
when acquiring many side treasures and collectibles.
Use the arrows, enter the cave and climb up. Defeat the enemies at the top (watch out for kamikaze) and
approach the spinning wheel. Lift the bucket with the crystals up and shoot it with an arrow to open up the
passage.
Defeat the enemies and go up. Another wave of enemies will appear - you should know what to do with
them. Go ahead and you will stumble upon a group of praying enemies. Well, they certainly didn't expect a
visit from the ex-God of War from Greece!

Destroy them - approach the red crystal next to the abyss and throw it into the red icicles. Detonate the
crystal and repeat the action with the shards on the bridge.
Destroy the enemies and approach the spinning wheel - set the bridge up. Go to the red chest and defeat the

Boat to the shore - a new enemy awaits, called Wulver. These foes are strong, resistant (they aren't harmed
by arrows) and they use powerful attacks. Be careful while you are facing them. Try to fight with one at a
time.
1. Shoot at the red crystal on the yard and move the ring to the right - open another red chest and then
move the ring to the left. This reveals a new passage.
2. Inside, you can find a room that is identical to the hidden chambers (you can unlock them later).
Ignore it. Go up and open the red chest. Climb the chain up.

Retrieve a piece of the chisel
More Wulvers await - defeat them and explore the area. You can find a lot of items and, e.g. you can open a
red chest or close a rift. Another red chest is hidden behind the grates - find three runes.
Go towards the giant's head. Defeat more enemies - an Ogre is among them. This is a more challenging fight
- remember that you can use rage.

Talk to Sindri
Go up the chain and meet with Sindri. The dwarf will upgrade Leviathan. He also gives you a favour that can
be completed in your free time.
Find a way to the hammer
Aim at the red crystals on the giant's pigtails to destroy the stones. Jump to the other side and run forward.

1. You reach a door - open it and face a Traveller (a new and powerful enemy). He is armored and rather
strong - one swing of his sword can take you a lot of health. Also, this enemy has a shield on his back
which blocks attacks. Use counters and attack the enemy when you get a chance.
2. Move the stone block to the middle of the room, rotate the wooden sign and climb on it. Open the
chest and then jump down.
1. Get on the balcony, the one you have revealed by moving the stone block. Follow it and jump to the
other side - climb right and you will reach a huge red stone hanging on a belt.
2. Rock the stone and throw your axe at it twice. This breaks the ice which reveals a new passage. Go
right, throw the axe at the crystal and then open the red chest.

Jump on the belt and climb up.
Release the belt
Approach the chain on the top and throw it down to release the hammer.

You are now on the bottom. Open the door and then open the red chest. Move forward. Let Atreus approach
another bowl with a puzzle.
To solve this puzzle, you have to choose the right seasons. - from the left: the leaf, the sun, the flower, the
snowflake.
Go to the chisel
1. You have activated an elevator. New enemies will appear. This fight has an additional obstacle - you
must defeat the enemies before the time runs out.
2. Use the fact that you are near an edge - throw enemies into abyss.
3. You now have to face three waves of enemies. Each new wave is more difficult than the previous one.
4. After that you have to aim at the two red crystals. Destroy them.

Move forward. Get on the ledge and go right. Then, you have to push a boulder and watch a cut-scene.
Retrieve a piece of the chisel

On the bottom, you have to jump on the ledge and go to the red chest. Then, you have to go left, get on the
platform and climb up.
Keep moving forward until you reach the door. Open them and enter inside. Aim at the chandeliers and
detonate the red crystals. Throw a red shard at the red chest - you will open it soon.

1. Pick up the red crystal and aim at the ice targets in front of you. You have to destroy three of them -
Wulvers jump out from the first one, an Ogre from the second and the third ice block has a Troll inside
of it! Kill all enemies.
2. Go through the new passage and speak with Sindri. Try to upgrade your weapon and craft upgrades -
soon, you will fight with a boss.
3. Follow the path, open the red chest and walk on the edge to reach the magic chisel. Face Thor's sons.

The boss fight
1. This fight is rather unique because you fight against two brothers - Magni and Modi. Both sons of Thor
have unique attacks and separate health bars.
2. Magni wields a giant sword - he uses slow and powerful attacks. These strikes are easy to dodge and
counter.
3. Modi has a shield and a one-handed axe - he is the opposite of his brother. He moves swiftly but his
attacks aren't as powerful.
4. The best tactic is to focus on one brother - I focused on attacking Magni because he was aggressive
and charged at me a lot which made him vulnerable to attacks.

1. Take a quarter of their health to end the first stage of the fight. You are surrounded by a fog - rotate
Kratos towards the marker which indicates a direction of an attack and parry it.
2. Time for the second stage. It is very similar to the first one - defeat one of the brothers and then
attack the second boss.
3. After that you must block enemies' attacks again.
Time for the third and final round - watch out for area of effect attacks because they can deal a lot of
damage. You have to knock both brothers in a short interval because they can revive each other.

2. Move forward. In the next few rooms you can open a red chest and destroy three runes that will allow
you to get the items hidden behind the grate.

Go to Sindri and upgrade the axe. Head to the dining room's door and open it by using the chisel. Use the
exploding crystal to open another red chest. Place the blue crystal into the opening to get a valuable item.
1. Go forward - unlock the line and toss Atreus on the scaffolding. Go back to the spinning wheel and
move the boy to the passage on the left.
2. Freeze the lift and climb up the chain. Get on the line and recall your axe. Use the chisel to open the
passage to another room.
3. Walk the familiar path towards the boat. A hidden chamber is on the right - you can open it if you
want to but remember that a powerful Valkyrie awaits you there. You can try to fight with her but it is
better to go back here once Kratos gets a better gear.

Get in the boat and head to Tyr's Temple. The entrance to Tyr's Vault is on the bottom - go inside.
1. Approach the bowl with sand - one of the Thor's sons will appear. He wants to avenge his brother's
death. Kratos won't allow him to do that. Atreus gets sick and the only way to help him is to use the
Witch's help.

Use the portal and go back to Brok's shop. Go to the travel room and choose Helheim as your destination.
Defeat the Bridge Keeper
Move forward. Use Blades of Chaos to defeat enemies. Then, you have to use the weapon to destroy the
roots - from now on you can use your weapon to reach hidden passages and items that were blocked by
roots.

Go forward. Defeat a few enemies. Destroy the roots and proceed forward. Reach a locked gate. Go left and
then go down. Destroy more roots and walk on the edge.
Kill more enemies and move forward. The platform crumbles down - you have to face new monsters.

Climb up and destroy roots between the two statues. Move forward and you will see the Bridge Keeper. You
have to kill him.
Even though this fight may be similar to those with Trolls, this enemy is much stronger. He also has different
attacks: the Bridge Keeper can teleport, shoot projectiles and can become invisible.

1. He can also summon lesser enemies that can be problematic in this fight. Eliminate them first and try
to always keep an eye on the Bridge Keeper so he won't damage you with a surprise attack.
2. This fight can be challenging - shock waves and surprise attacks are especially dangerous. Conserve
your rage until you reach the final stage of the fight - the enemy will become even more dangerous
and faster.
Kill the foe, jump on his corpse and rip his heart from his chest.

Deliver the heart to Freya
1. Approach the pillar with a flashing green object in the middle. You meet Brok - the dwarf can upgrade
your Blades. From now on you can capture the Winds of Hel - aim at the sphere and capture its
energy.
2. You can hold this energy for only 10 seconds. Use the Blades on the sphere located in the gate to
unlock a new passage.
3. Capture the Winds of Hel from the gate and move them to another place. Defeat enemies and then
cross the stone bridge.
4. Capture the Winds of Hel and move them to another green sphere. This unlocks a passage that leads
to a horde of enemies.

Kill the enemies. Then, you have to destroy the roots. Proceed through the narrow passage. Capture the
Winds of Hel from the stone on the left. Open the gate.
1. A single, and powerful, enemy awaits you on the bridge. A little bit further you will encounter a group

Winds into the sphere in the next room.

1. Use the spinning wheel to lift the grate. You have to go through rotating blades (don't get hit by
them). Use Leviathan to freeze one of them - thanks to that you will be able to proceed forward.
2. Enter the main chamber and then defeat a few enemies. Capture the Winds of Hel and place them in
another green sphere.
You now have to go through a corridor full of spike traps. Use Leviathan to freeze a trap for a moment. Then,
you have to enter a crack on the right to reach the other side.

Open the door, defeat a few enemies, and climb up. Kill more enemies and lower the chain.
Capture the Winds from the upper part of the rings and move them into the sphere located below. Go down
and move the Winds to the last sphere located below. Rotate the spinning wheel... It's a trap!

Escape the trap
To solve this puzzle, you have to place the symbols in the following order: the moon on the left, Midgard in
the middle and the sun needs to be on the right. The solution can be found above - remember that you have
a limited time to solve this puzzle!
Retrieve the Black Rune
1. Destroy the grates and go down. Pick up the Black Rune. Two Trolls appear - this is a rather
challenging fight.
2. The enemies have separate health bars and they can regenerate each other.

1. The ice Troll is resistant to Leviathan, the fire one is invulnerable to Blades of Chaos. The best tactic is
to attack the ice Troll - thanks to Blades of Chaos you can keep a safe distance.
2. Watch out for the stones on the ground - destroy them and the arena will be covered in darkness (this
reduces your visibility).
3. Keep your distance, attack only one Troll and move around the entire arena - this should be enough to
defeat them.
Exit Tyrs Vault
Go to the treasure chamber (the one where Atreus was playing with a knife). There, you can open one of the
Nornir chests - see the video above.

survived the previous battle. Time for the culmination of Atreus' dilemmas - the boy will commit murder
against his father's orders.
Atreus won't listen to your orders during this part of the game and, e.g. he decides when he wants to shoot

Find a new path up to the summit
Go left and destroy the red crystal. Defeat enemies and climb on the rock. Be careful, more enemies are on

More enemies await you here. Follow the path with red crystals and go through the narrow passage to

Destroy the branches and pull out a cart. Then, you have to move it in a such way that you would be able to

Walk on the edge and destroy more roots. Open a new red chest and move forward.

Defeat a few enemies and lift the grates. You now have to climb down and reach a large gate. Go down the
ledge and reach a red chest.
Place the Winds of Hel into the left sphere and freeze the left part of the gate with Leviathan. Then, you have
to move the Winds into the sphere on the right. After that the gate will open.

A powerful opponent waits behind the gate - be careful and rely on dodges. Wait for an opening and kill the
enemy.
Destroy the roots and move the piece of a pillar forward as far as you can. Go back to the place where you
fought with the enemy. Destroy thorns to get another red chest.

Jump on the wall and climb by moving to the right. You overhear Baldur's conversation and you learn about
the man's tragic fate.
Jump down and defeat the enemies. Move the stone block forward and reach the other side.
Reach the Nornir chest. Destroy three runes to open it. Their location can be found in the video above.

Use the ship
Get on the ship. Destroy the roots on the deck and then approach the rope.
Sadly, the journey was interrupted and the ship is now immobilized. Approach one of the pillars and destroy
it. This changes the position of the sails. Go to the spinning wheel and change the position of the sails again.
The ship gets stuck once more - get on the land and open the red chest. Then, you have to activate the
mechanism. New enemies will appear.

Defeat the monsters, open the nearby golden chest and get back on the ship. You have to enter inside the
ruins and turn the sign. Reach the top and freeze the mechanism. Jump to the ship.
This next part is a very long sequence during which you have to escape and face enemies on the deck all at
the same time. They want to put out the flames on the roots (set them on flames again if they succeed)
which will stop the ship. Try to eliminate these opponents as fast as possible.

From time to time the enemies will shoot anchors at your ship. Remove them to continue the journey.
Lastly, you have to approach the right part of the ship and rip it out to escape.

Escape Helheim
You reach Odin's secret chamber. Open the red chest and the approach the door - open it with the magic
chisel.
Move forward. You come across a fragment of Jotun's altar which depicts Tyr holding an item that allows him

Explore Tyr s hidden chamber
1. Go inside and run forward. Throw the axe at the blue crystal and go into the dark room.
2. Move below the ball of light and go through the door. Go down the hallway and enter the chamber
with two statues.
Approach the rune and try to rotate the temple - however, it is attached with two chains that have to be
removed first.

Use the lever and go down. Head right - you will come across a corridor full of traps. Use Leviathan to freeze
a trap and to avoid getting crushed. Check the video above to learn how to go through this part safely.
Open the red chest, pick up the red shard and throw it beneath the frozen floor, right next to another
crushing trap. Jump on it when it gets lowered and proceed forward.
You reach the chains - break them. This spawns enemies. Watch out for a fire trap.

Defeat the monsters. After that the trap will collapse. You can now collect the second piece of the cipher to
Niflheim (open the purple chest). Go back to the chamber with an elevator - the second wave of enemies can
be avoided by running between the enemies.
Head to the second passage. This corridor is filled with blade traps. You have to freeze them one after
another - they should be formed in a line. Check the video above to learn how to reach the other side of the
corridor.

Capture the Winds of Hel and place them in the sphere on the right, next to another set of traps. Proceed
forward, capture the Winds and move them to the blade in front of you. Reach the other side.

Use the elevator to go up. Try to rotate the Temple again. This time Kratos will succeed. Get on the nearby

Thor's Temple... which was eaten by a serpent.

Go to the horn and call the Serpent. Mimir will speak with it. The creature allows you to get inside its

Find Mimir s eye

Defeat Baldur
Freya tries to interrupt the fight by restraining both Kratos and Baldur. Free yourself and attack the enemy.
The enemy is fast and strong. He can also regenerate his health. Fight for a while and watch a cut-scene.
Baldur hurts himself with an arrow made out of mistletoe which makes his immortality disappear.

Wait for the enemy to attack and parry him. This is the beginning of the second round. Baldur is very fast
and strong - the best way to attack him is to hit him right after a dodge or a block.
The enemy can change his form - attack him with Blades of Chaos when he is in ice form; use Leviathan
when he turns into his fire form.
Freya tries to stop you from fighting by sending a giant who can, e.g. create shock waves.

New enemies will appear after some time - try to eliminate them first because they are a real hindrance
during this fight.
Watch a few cut-scenes and complete a few actions that happen in-between the sections of the fight - you
have to, e.g. climb up and win a fist fight with Baldur.

Use Spartan Rage and continue the fight. Baldur is now even more powerful - he uses more special attacks
and he frequently changes his form. You will be switching your weapons constantly. Don't forget to order
Atreus to keep firing at the enemy.
Witness the tragic end of the relation between Baldur and Freya. Killing Baldur has brought Freya's wrath on
Kratos.

ghost that you must defeat.

Commentary: You must collect ingredients to create a legendary dwarven armor. The quest takes place in
Konunsgard and requires you to complete all other favors for Sindri and Brok. Your task is to collect three

quest because the location is vast. However, the riddles here are rather simple. Once you gather all items, go

To get to Niflheim, you must complete a disk with a Niflheim cipher. The disc itself has been divided into four

The first fragment can be found in the chest near the entrance to the summit in the Mountain location.
You can come across this chest during "Return to the Summit" mission.

Niflheim - the description of the realm

Niflheim is an optional realm available in God of War that can be reached at the end of the game. Below you
can find the description of this land:
1. A new bar appears at the top of the screen - a time that determines how long you can stay in the
mist. When the time runs out, you will die and lose all the Mist Echoes you have acquired.

1. Mist Echoes are a special currency and one of the key components of creating powerful equipment at
Sindri. The dwarf can create e.g. very strong armors, which, in addition to significantly strengthening
the statistics, offer a longer time of staying in the deadly mist.

1. The dwarf can give you three favours: Ivaldi Workshop, Ivaldi Protection and Ivaldi's Curse. The first
task is to get 500 Mist Echoes and create a stone entrance. The second task requires you to acquire
the necessary materials to create Niflheim Armour. The last task is the longest - you have to close
three rifts by paying with Mist Echoes (10,000, 15,000 and 20,000) each time.
1. To get Mist Echoes and other valuable materials, you'll need to run through a labyrinth of traps and
monsters. Each time, the layout of the rooms and the opponents are all different. Your task is to open
small, red, Nornir and legendary chests - inside, you'll find the aforementioned Echoes and other
useful items. Additionally, opening any of the chests will extend the timer a little bit.
2. You must take the Mist Echoes to the start or to an unlocked room with rifts that you can close. This is
the only way to assign them to Kratos. After that you can spend them as you wish.
How to complete Niflheim in 100%?

Below you can find a few tips that will help you complete Niflheim in 100%.

1. Initially, you will be able to stay briefly in the mist. Your priority, therefore, is to spend Mist Echoes on
new armor parts to strengthen you and increase your resistance to the mist.
2. The treasures in the first few rooms have very little materials - large deposits of Mist Echoes can be
found in Nornir chests and in the deeper parts of the labyrinth. However, you run a greater risk - if
you die with a lot of material, you will lose everything.

How to reach Muspelheim?

To get to Muspelheim, you must complete a disk with a Muspelheim cipher. The disc itself has been divided
into four parts - you can find them in purple chests hidden in different parts of the game's world.
The first piece can be found on Forgotten Caverns island. Climb the chain up and find the chest.

The second piece can be found on Cliffs of the Raven island - climb the chain up (you can find it right
next to the Troll's corpse).
The third piece can be found in the area between Shore of Nine and Foothills. The chest can be found
near the wooden ladder and Sindri's shop.

Muspelheim - the description of the realm

After completing the key, you can head to Tyr's Temple and travel to Muspelheim.
1. Muspelheim is the fiery land in God of War, where you'll find plenty of trials that require
you to defeat enemies in a certain way. Sometimes you have to avoid being injured, sometimes
you have to defeat reinforced enemies or complete a fight within a time limit.
2. The location is divided into five swords - each of them offers trials on "normal" and "hard"
difficulty levels. After completing both challenges, you can move on to the next section of the land and
face new enemies.

1. At the very end of the land, there is a fight with a Valkyrie waiting for you, which is very difficult (in
my opinion this one is the most difficult out of them all). After overcoming it, the remaining swords
will gain a new challenge with the level of difficulty "impossible". As the name suggests, they are very
challenging.

1. When you have completed three challenges on impossible, you can go to the top of the land and run a
special challenge that requires you to overcome a certain number of enemies within a certain time
limit. Your prize depends on your score. You can beat this challenge many times, although you
always have to get three fragments of the key.
2. Below you can find a description of all the challenges in God of War, most of which have been
completed at the lowest level of difficulty. The main reason for that is the timeframe and the desire to
complete the challenges as quickly as possible and to describe them in this guide. It is worth seeing
what each task looks like because some of them are extremely difficult.
3. Remember that you can come back to the challenges later in the game when you have better
equipment. Doing everything at once is very frustrating and unnecessarily difficult.

Trial I: Normal
Goal: Kill the enemies before time runs out.
Commentary: The first trial is very easy and should be treated as a warm-up. Simply defeat 15 enemies in
3 minutes.
Trial I: Hard
Goal: Kill enemies at short intervals.
Commentary: This Trial is more challenging - enemies will resurrect if other enemies are still alive. Weaken
the monsters and kill one after another.

Goal: Survive for 5 minutes.
Commentary: It starts to get more difficult - you have to survive for 5 minutes. At the end of the battle
there will be a lot of enemies, it is best to fight close to the edge and throw some of them into the abyss.
Trial II: Hard

Goal: Defeat enemies - enemies quickly regenerate from any injury.
Commentary: Here, the best method to win is to fight near the edge and throw the enemies into abyss by,
e.g. kicking them. Atreus' light arrows are also useful here because they help you stun opponents.

Trial III: Normal

Goal: Kill regular enemies to break the elite's defense.
Commentary: The Elite Dark Elf is invulnerable until all his allies are dead. This is a rather challenging Trial -
you have to be on a move constantly and watch out for his attacks while you are dealing with weaker targets.
Trial III: Hard

Goal: Kill enemies while they are inside the gold rings.
Commentary: Look for gold rings on the ground and kill enemies inside of them. Kills performed outside of
them won't be added to your score. Kill the specific number of enemies before the time runs out. A rather
difficult Trial - pulling enemies with Blades of Chaos work great here.

Trial IV in Muspelheim
Trial IV: Normal

Goal: Kill 100 enemies.
Commentary: A battle for survival where you have to use your strength reasonably. You have to defeat 100
enemies. Over time, they will become more and more powerful. You have to be careful and avoid enemy
attacks.
Trial IV: Hard

Goal: Don't let the enemies capture Atreus.
Commentary: The enemies will try to capture Atreus. If they succeed, you will have a limited amount of
time to rescue him. Stay close to the boy and quickly eliminate all enemies.

Goal: Defeat enemies to extend the timer.
Commentary: The trial begins with a time limit. Each kill extends the time of the trial. You have to defeat all

Commentary: An extremely difficult trial. There will be a whole bunch of enemies coming at you, and
eventually, even an ancient will appear - watch out, since he can easily lock his attack on you. You should get
the sort of equipment that increases strength of e.g. axe throws and maintain your distance.
Trial II - Impossible
Goal: Kill the enemies before the time runs out.

Commentary: You will face mighty, mighty enemies - make sure you have the best equipment possible.
Trial III - Impossible

Goal: Kill the enemies inside golden rings.
Commentary: A very difficult task - ogres appear towards the end, and they tend to render all your efforts
null and void.

Goal: Defeat the enemies - they regenerate quicker.

Commentary: Throw the enemies from precipices or into lava. As concerns the elves - try to stun them and
use finishers to quickly get rid of them.
Trial V - Impossible

Commentary: You will face the toughest enemies - they're incredibly resistant and strong. It's going to be
really difficult.

VALKYRIE LOCATION IN GOD OF WAR - GAME GUIDE AND WALKTHROUGH
This chapter will allow you to learn more about the valkyrias and their location - the hidden enemies featured
in God of War. You will learn of their whereabouts and possible strategies when fighting them. You will also
find lots of tips and helpful video guides. We've also broken down the fight with the incredibly powerful
queen, who can kill Kratos with a few hits. Remember, valkyrie are optional, but if you're wondering how long
is God of War, here you can find your answer. It depends if you want to kill all Valkyrie. First things first,
though:
1. There are 8 valkyrias in the game. Four in Midgard, sealed in concealed chambers. The remaining
ones can be found in the following realms: Helheim, Muspelheim, Niflheim and Alfheim. The order in
which you kill them is entirely up to you - they're all comparably challenging, however, the one from
Muspelheim seemed particularly difficult, at least to the author.
2. Each fight is different. Each valkyria uses a slightly different strategy. The most important skills
needed to win are constant, though - it's good reflex and the ability to dodge the attacks. The
valkyrias can deal gargantuan amounts of damage and kill the protagonist with just a few hits. You
have to be as focused as you can.
3. The best equipment. The best idea is to hunt the valkyrias after finishing the main thread and
obtaining the equipment from Niflheim. If you do that, the creatures won't pose an insurmountable
challenge - they will be just a more difficult variety of bosses.
4. Maximal rage meter. Before each fight, make sure the rage meter is filled to capacity and you can
use the Rage of Sparta. This will make the fight easier and will heal you a little bit whilst you're
carelessly laying into the valkyries.

1. Light of the World. You should complete this task, since it will yield an item that reduces valkyria
damage. Most useful.
2. Resurrection Stone. Make sure to always have it. When you're killed, you will be resurrected with
filled rage, enabling you to launch the Rage of Sparta and deal some serious damage.
3. Valkyria Queen. After collecting the eight helmets, you have to get to the Council of Valkyrias and
place all the helmets on the thrones. After doing that, a rift will be opened, and you will be able to
face the Queen. She's ridiculously powerful. You will need a maxed-out character and equipment in
order to be able to defeat her.

because it's gonna be hard. Very hard.

Fighting Gunnr in the Thamurs Corpse
Location: Thamur's remains, in the secret chamber

Valkyria's name: Gunnr
Commentary: Gunnr is mostly about melee combat at short distance. Spinning attacks, quick thrusts and
charges are her specialty. This, however, makes her susceptible to your attacks - if you can manage to dodge
them first. Don't worry about her special attack - it's rather simplistic, especially when compared to other
fights.

Fighting Olrun in Alfheim
Location: Alfheim, in the secret chamber.

Valkyria's name: Olrun
Commentary: This valkyria is fast and agile - she loves leaping attacks, using her wings. Her whirling
attacks and quick thrusts are very dangerous. She can also shoot feathers at you and attack from above.
Once you see her doing that, roll away immediately - Olrun performs this attack with the speed of a
lightning. Don't be late, for this attack is very dangerous.

Fighting Geirdriful in Foothills
Location: Foothills, hidden chamber.

Valkyria's name: Geirdriful
Commentary: She just adores ranged attacks, but from time to time, she also uses a quick thrust. She
throws rings from above, attacks with a shockwave and flings spikes at you. You have to try and close in and
attack after a successful dodge when she decides to close in.

Fighting Rota in Helheim
Location: Helheim, hidden chamber.

Valkyria's name: Rota
Commentary: Rota is very mobile and uses charges and leaping attacks. She also attacks from above - be
just as careful with her, for the damage she deals with her attack from above is enormous. She will also try
to close in, grab you smash you into the floor, which also greatly reduces your HP. Stay focused, don't allow
her to perform special attacks, and use the Rage of Sparta and you'll have no problems doing it.

Fighting Gondul in Muspelheim
Location: Muspelheim, after reaching the sixth sword - atop the mountain.
Valkyria's name: Gondul
Commentary: Gondul has a couple strong attacks. She's able to summon fire from the sky, jump high in the
air and try to trample you (wait for 1.5 seconds and jump back after that short period). She can also blind
you. She's a very tough opponent. Try using strong attacks on her after her trampling attempt and use
Atreus' help as often as you can.

Fighting Hildr w Niflheim
Location: Niflheim, at the end of the maze.

Valkyria's name: Hildr
Commentary: This one is the master of ice. She can attack with shards of ice from afar. She also can send
out shockwaves and performs whirling attacks, which let her instantly close in on you. Wait for her to charge
and try dealing damage after a counterattack. Don't let her grab you! It will drain your health in seconds.

Fighting Eir in the Mountain
Location: The Mountain - hidden chamber.

Valkyria's name: Eir
Commentary: Fighting Eir is mostly about close melee attacks and closing in with charges, blinding you
after them. Similarly to Gunnr, she's exposed to an attack when she does that - still, this valkyria is very
dangerous. She can shield herself with her wings. This fight might take a while because of her blocks.

Fighting Kara in The River Pass
Location: The River Pass - hidden chamber.

Valkyria's name: Kara
Commentary: Kara mostly attacks from afar using spikes and a lightning-fast disk throw. Every now and
then, she'll attempt to attack with her wings, although it's not going to be a strong attack. This boss can
summon a bunch of enemies, introducing a bit of chaos into the battle. The Blades of Chaos are a good
choice, as well as area attacks. Stay near her.

Fighting the Queen - The Council of Valkyries
Location: Council of Valkyries

Valkyria's name: Sigrun
Commentary: Sigrun is the queen of valkyrias and an incredibly powerful enemy. She can perform all of the
attacks that her weaker sisters were able to perform and she often combines them in different ways. If for
example she flies into the air to try and trample you, the first dodge has to be immediate and the other one
performed after around one second. Sigrun also performs charges, trying to grab you. She shields from your
attacks with her wings, can summon a rain of fire and hurls heavy disks at you, which deal heaps of damage.
This is a very powerful boss and it takes a few attempts before you'll be able to kill her. You will need to learn
how to dodge her attacks. Also remember to use the resurrection stone, which will replenish your rage. The
talisman that slows time down during attacks will also be most useful. Make sure you have the best
equipment possible (fully upgraded Nihilem armor, for example) and keep trying. You will eventually defeat
her - you're the God of War, after all.

1. Each area in the game has a certain number of secrets - open the map, move the cursor on a
given area and look on the right to check your progress in a given location.
2. Remember that certain areas can only be "completed" in later parts of the game. Go back to a
given area if you have missed something.
3. Our list of the collectibles and secrets doesn't contain information on Mystic Gateways and
shops. These "collectibles" are nothing more than portals that can be used for fast travel. There are
plenty of them and they are easy to find when you visit a location for the first time. Some of the
Mystic Gateways can be found in hidden chambers, right before facing a Valkyrie.
4. Odin's Ravens are the hardest to find - they are green birds that can be found, e.g. soaring
through the sky above a certain location.

Types of collectibles and secrets
1. Favours. These are the most complex challenges. They are side missions that require a specific action
- e.g. defeat a certain enemy or find a requested item.
2. Artifacts. They are your typical collectibles, usually found on corpses.
3. Mystic Gateways. Portals that, in the beginning, can teleport you only to the Shore of Nine - over
time, they will allow you to travel between different areas.
4. Shops. Here, you can upgrade your equipment or buy new items.
5. Information signs. The majority of them are runes that can be read by Atreus. Found mostly on
walls and obelisks.
6. Odin's Ravens. These flying birds are difficult to find because their placement is rather random.
Some of the ravens are easy to find because you come across them "along the way" while others are
really hard to locate.
7. Valkyries. They are optional bosses - and they are really tough. Usually, they are found inside of the
hidden chambers. Defeat eight of them to face their queen - an extremely challenging enemy.
8. Nornir chests. They contain permanent health and rage upgrades. Open them by destroying three
runes or by ringing three bells that are hidden near a chest.
9. Legendary chests. Rather difficult to find. These golden chests offer valuable treasures and powerful
gear.
10. Realm Tear Encounters. In realm tears, you can find very difficult enemies with, usually, a much
higher level than Kratos. Defeat them to close a tear and to get valuable treasures.
Besides the secrets listed above you can also find a few things: treasure maps, hidden rooms, imprisoned
dragons or Jotun altars. The rest of the secrets are described in the separate chapters.

When can be obtained: During "Inside the Mountain".

Commentary: You can find this Raven in the crack of the destroyed bridge, near the passage that Kratos
observed is too small for Giants.

Commentary: The second Raven is near the cart that you have to shove over. Climb onto the cart and walk
into the area shown in the above screenshot.

Commentary: The first artifact is close to the chamber with the first chest. You have to smash the wooden
door and objects inside to reveal this artifact.

Commentary: The first Lore markeris near the Nornir chest - you have to carry the blue crystal over to
activate the monument.

Commentary: The second marker is on the wall, right past the narrow passage with a multitude of corpses
in it.

climbing.

Commentary: You have to blow up the rock near the monument, return to the chamber with the stag

the rest of the realms, many of the collectibles here are easy to unlock.

Muspelheim
In Muspelheim, you can find the following:
1. 6x Mystical gates
2. 1x Valkyries
As far as Mystical Gates go, you can always find them by the swords with challenges. You find them all, you
have to complete 10 challenges (each of the swords offers 2 - normal and difficult; you have to complete
them to move on).
Valkyrie is at the end of this realm. Just like in the case of Mystical gates, you have to complete challenges.

Niflheim
Niflheim is a sprawling location and you can find here:
1. 3x favors for Sindri

2. 1x Valkyries
3. 1x store
To discover all, as a matter of fact, you have to complete this realm. Favors that you are tasked with by
Sindri are, e.g. about closing rifts and this requires lots of resources that can only be obtained in Niflheim.
Valkyrie is at the very end of the labyrinth and to reach her, you require a strong suit of armor that absorbs
health loss in this realm. Just like in the case of Muspelheim, see a separate section of this guide to learn
details on how to deal with challenges of this realm.

Shores of Nine
Collectibles and secrets in Shores of Nine in God
of War
This is another chapter devoted to collectibles in God of War. Shores of Nine is different from the rest of the
locations a bit, because it comprises smaller islands. According to the game, to complete this realm, you
have to do the following:
1. 1x Do a favor ("Unfinished business" quest).

2. 7x Lore markers (the interesting thing is here that some of the islands do not register markers as the
level of their completion, but they are, instead, included into the Shores of Nine realm. Always try to
interact with markers and runes on the isles). Markers can be found in: Forgotten Caverns, Isle of
Death, Iron Cove, Cliffs of the Raven, and in the building at the end of the bridge in the Temple of Tyr
(to obtain one of them, you have to complete Alfheim and obtain the light of that realm).
3. 4x Realm Tear Encounters (they usually occur at the tops of towers, e.g. of Tower of Niflheim, of
Tower of Alfheim).
4. 1x Killed Odin's Raven (you can destroy the Raven while atop the Tower of Niflheim - it is in the
lifeboat).

5. 1x Legendary Chest (it is on the left side of the Temple of Tyr, on the lower level, near the docking
location - some way off the mechanism you used to rotate the temple).
6. 4x artifacts (you can find on the Tower of Niflheim, Tower of Alfheim, Tower of Helheim and by one of
the docking locations in the Temple of Tyr).
7. 10x Mystical gates (you will find them while exploring the islands and the towers).
To make it easier to find all the collectibles, all this has been divided into smaller areas. The interesting thing
is, however, that some of the isles are not counted into the completion of the game and this is why, it is
better to complete each region and isle, without hurrying, to 100%. This way, you can be sure that you have
not missed anything. In the following chapters, you will learn how to obtain collectibles in all the regions and
on each isle around the Temple of Tyr.
Remember that the majority of isles and regions remain unavailable throughout a large portion of the game.
Only certain events, such as lowering the water level, will allow you to continue. However, it is a good idea to
visit the Shores of Nine on a regular basis, because you will find many collectibles and useful items there!

Commentary: In the realm, there is a dragon. You will start "The Fire of Reginn" quest. You have to destroy

Commentary: You have to collect ingredients for a legendary dwarven armor set. This quest takes place in
Konunsgard and it requires you to complete Sindri's and Brok's previous favors. Your task is to find three
fragments of a key near stronghold entrances and obtain ingredients from a dwarf's corpse. In itself, this
quest is long, since the realm itself is huge. However, the puzzles are relatively easy.
Rewards: Runic attack - Fire of Ares, Dwarven Armor set recipe, 3290 XP.

Commentary: Hold R2 while using your axe to cut enemies in half.
The Road Less Travelled

Goal: Craft Traveler armor set.
Rewards: Traveler armor set schematics, 350 XP.
Commentary: Defeat the Traveler - you will meet him in the middle portion of the game.
Wolf's Bane
Goal: Kill wolves.
Rewards: 15 killed wolves: 250 XP, 30 wolves: 750 XP, 45 wolves: 3,500 XP.
Commentary: You don't have to pay attention to this labour because you will complete it simply by playing
the game and exploring the world.

Goal: Grab stunned enemies.
Rewards: Grab 25 stunned enemies: 250 XP, Grab 50 stunned enemies: 750 XP, Grab 100 stunned
enemies: 3,500 XP.
Commentary: Press R3 when an enemy glows red to grab them and deal a lot of damage.
Dark Elves Downfall

Goal: Kill dark elves.
Rewards: Kill 25 dark elves: 250 XP, Kill 50 dark elves: 750 XP, Kill 100 dark elves: 3,500 XP.
Mountain High
Goal: Reach the top of Muspelheim.
Rewards: 1,880 XP.
Commentary: Complete all challenges in Muspelheim and get access to the sixth and final challenge on top

Goal: Kill frozen enemies.
Rewards: Shatter 10 frozen enemies: 250 XP, Shatter 20 frozen enemies: 750 XP, Shatter 30 frozen
enemies: 3,500 XP.
Commentary: Freeze enemies by throwing your axe at them and then attack.
Last One Standing

Goal: Cut legs off.
Rewards: 25 enemies with legs cut off: 250 XP, 50 enemies with legs cut off: 750 XP, 50 enemies with legs
cut off: 3,500 XP.
Commentary: There are a few ways in which you can cut enemies' legs off. Try to throw the axe under their
feet by pressing R1.
Quick Reflexes
Goal: Parry attacks.
Rewards: Parry 25 attacks: 250 XP, Parry 50 attacks: 750 XP, Parry 100 attacks: 3,500 XP.
Commentary: Parry incoming attacks by pressing L1 in the right moment.
Talisman Tinkerer
Goal: Activate a talisman's ability.
Rewards: Use a talisman's ability 15 times: 250 XP, Use a talisman's ability 30 times: 750 XP, Use a
talisman's ability 60 times: 3,500 XP.
Commentary: Press L1 + circle to use a talisman's ability.

Goal: Collect Frozen Flames to upgrade Leviathan.

Commentary: Defeat trolls to collect valuable materials. Take them to the dwarves. Occasionally, you may
need to get materials to get a certain resource that is necessary in upgrading the weapon.
The Eyes of Odin

Goal: Kill Odin's Ravens.
Rewards: 3,500 XP for 15 Ravens, 5,000 XP for 30 Ravens, 15,000 XP for 51 Ravens.
Commentary: This is the most time-consuming labour out of them all. You have to find 51 Ravens hidden in
various places. Their full list can be found in the chapter dedicated to collectibles and secrets.

All Hidden Chambers in God of War

In this chapter, you will learn where to find all seven hidden chambers in God of War. Here you will also read

How to open the hidden chambers?

In order to open the hidden chamber you must complete the quest "The Magic Chisel" that you receive about
halfway through the game. Only then you can return to previously visited chambers and face challenges that
await you inside.
What can be found in the hidden chambers?

In the hidden chambers you will always find a mystic gateway and almost always you will find a Valkyrie - a
hidden boss - there. There are 8 Valkyries + the final boss available in the game. Their description can be
found in a separate chapter of the game. In addition to that, in the chambers you can find additional secrets
like Odin's ravens and Hidden Shrines.
Hidden chamber in Wildwoods
When you can discover: During the quest "The Marked Trees"
Commentary: You will find the first chamber near the troll and the defeated enemies.

Free dragons in God of War

This chapter features a thorough walkthrough for one of the labours in God of War - "Free dragons". There
are three dragons to release in the game. The procedure is always the same - you must find and destroy
altars that imprison the beast in the region. Below you will find information where to find the dragons, what
is the location of altars and what is the reward for completing the tasks.

Otr s Imprisonment
Dragon's location: Veidrrgard.

Commentary: You start the task in Veidrrgard where you will encounter the dragon. You must destroy three
statues that are holding the dragon captive. Watch out for beast's area attacks - his range is impressive.

The second altar is on the right from the dragon (counting from the side where you had run at him).

The Flight of Fafnir
Dragon's location: Council of Valkyries.

Commentary: You start this quest in the location Council of Valkyries where you will encounter the dragon.
You must destroy three figures that are holding the dragon captive. They are close to each other. Watch out
for dragon's breath.
The first shrine is on the left from the dragon, close to the beginning of the location.

The second altar is a bit further - it's hard to miss it.
The third one is in a different spot - you must climb the rock and enter the cave.

The Fire of Reginn
Dragon's location: Konunsgard

Commentary: You start the task in Konunsgard where you will encounter the dragon. Your task is to destroy
three altars that are imprisoning the beast. Stick close to the area with the dragon and you will find them
quickly.

Commentary: The first altar can be found near the road you used to walk near the dragon. It's close to the
main altar.
Commentary: The second altar is near the ruins, in the nearby cave.

Once you destroy all altars, go back to the stone that imprisons the beast and free the dragon.

Light of the World in God of War

In this chapter, you can find the solution for the Light of the World quest in God of War. Your task is to find
and light up eight fireplaces around the Lake of Nine. At first, you cannot even light them up - only after
completing the keys to Niflheim and Muspelheim will Atreus learn the ancient language, hence
becoming able to read the runes. The order in which you light them up doesn't matter.
Commentary: The first fireplace is located at the end of the bridge, close to the passage.

Commentary: The next fireplace is on Jotunheim tower. You have to use the lift to get there.
Commentary: The next fireplace is on the tower of Niflheim. In order to get there, you have to get to the
top of the Lookout Tower and go towards the tower.
