Answer:
Solutions for Questions 1 to 3: Analysis for the set
We can infer the following relationships from the data given:
1. The bike (4) and scooter (3) are placed on the right side and this means that
the car and the cycle fall on the other side.
2. House number 4 has to be black in color.
3. Eshwar Chand has a Scooter, thus house number 3 is his and his house is
white.
4. Rithu Ram has house number 2 and his house is indigo colored, and he has
a cycle.
5. Aatma Ram’s house is number 1, and this also means he has the car.
6. This means Sita Ram’s house is house number 4, his house color is black
and he has a bike.
7. From this, we can say Aatma Ram’s house is green in color.

Thus, we have the following representation:

Answer 1: (c)
The black Colored house belongs to Sita Ram
Answer 2 : (b)
Aatma Ram’s house was Green in color
Answer 3 : (c)
Eshwar Chand’s house is diagonally opposite to Rithu Ram’s house.

Q.9 Directions for Questions 1 to 5: Bharat, Mahesh, Tarun, Rakhi, Kailash, Hans,

(b) Bharat, Kailash
(c) Bharat,Tarun
(d) none
Question 5: Who is the artist?
(a) Dev
(b) Hans
(c) Rakhi
(d) Data inadequate

Answer:
Explanation for Questions 1 to 5
We can draw the following table using the information provided to us:

Bharat is not in the bus.

The artist travels the same way as Bharat travels, and only two of them travel this
way (means they either use the bus or the plane). Since bus is ruled out, the artist
and Bharat travel on Plane.
Now the artist can be Rakhi or Kailash.
But Kailash travels with the Dancer (Dev) and Bharat is not a dancer. Thus, Rakhi
travels with Bharat and is the artist. Kailash is the peon.
Since the plane is taken by Bharat and Rakhi, Mahesh and Hans take the bus as
they do not take the train. Since they take the bus, and Kailash and Dev have to be
together, it means Kailash and Dev are joined by Tarun on the train. Thus, Kailash
and Dev take the train.

Answer 1: (a)
The answer can be found from the tables above.
Answer 2 : (d)
Using the tables above, we can find the answer.
Answer 3 : (b)

Answer 5 : (c)
The answer can be found from the tables above.

Q.10 Directions for Questions 1 to 6:  In a chemical lab, 6 chemicals added to make
mixtures which are used to make perfumes. The chemicals are stored in exactly six
types of boxes c1, c2, c3, c4, c5, c6. Remember there is no limitation in the number
of chemicals stored in a box.
Chemicals must be added to make mixtures under following conditions:
1. Each mixture must contain at least three chemicals and chemicals of at least
three different boxes.
2. At most two chemicals in a single mixture can be from c6 box
3. At most two chemicals in a single mixture can be from c5 box
4. There can be at most one chemical of c1, c2, c3 and c4 in a single mixture
5. If one chemical is from c1,then one chemical must be from c2 box
6. If one chemical is from c3,then no chemical can be from c4 box.
Question 1: Which of the following could be complete set of chemicals in an
acceptable mixture?
(a) c4, c5, and c3
(b) c1, c6, and c2
(c) c1, c6, and c4
(d) c1, and exactly two chemicals from c6
Question 2: The maximum number of chemicals that can be used in an acceptable
mixture
(a) 8
(b) 7
(c) 6
(d) 4
Question 3: If exactly one chemical from c6 box and exactly one chemical from c5
box are used in a mixture, which of the following is must be true?
(a) the mixture contains no more than five chemicals
(b) the mixture contains exactly six chemicals
(c) the mixture contains a chemical from c2 box
(d) the mixture does not contain any chemical from c1box
Question 4: If a c5 chemical and c3 chemical must be among the chemicals chosen
for a particular mixture, any of the following sets of chemicals could complete the
mixture except:
(a) a c6 chemical and a second c5 chemical
(b) a c2 chemical and a second c5 chemical
(c) a c2 chemical and a c6 chemical
(d) a c1 chemical and a c6 chemical
Question 5: If there is an additional requirement that a chemical from c3 must be
used if chemical from c2 is used, which of the following is possible:
(a) a combination of one chemical from each of the six boxes.
(b) two chemicals each from c5,c6 and c1, and one from c2 and c3 each.
(c) one chemical each from c2 and c3, and two chemicals from c5 and c6.
(d) two chemicals from c5 and one from c4.
Question 6: If there is an additional requirement that a chemical from c2 must be
used with one chemical each from c1, c2 and c4, the maximum possible number of
chemicals in a mixture are:
(a) 8
(b) 7
(c) 6
(d) 4

Answer:
Answer 1: (b)
In option (a), chemicals from c3 and c4 are together which cannot happen. Also it is
given that  “If one chemical is from c1,then one chemical must be from c2 box”.
This condition is not fulfilled in options (c) and (d). Option (b) satisfies all the
conditions and is the answer.
Answer 2 : (b)
We can have chemicals from maximum of five different boxes in a single mixture,
and we also   know that a chemical from c3 cannot be used with a c4 chemical. So
we can use two c6 chemicals, two c5 chemicals and one chemical from each of
other boxes. Thus a maximum of 7 chemicals can be used.
Answer 3 : (a)
If one chemical is from c6 box and one chemical is from c5 box, the we can use a
maximum of 5 boxes as the other boxes can only contribute one chemical each, and
c1 cannot be clubbed with    c4.
Answer 4 : (d)
The forth option is not the correct set of chemicals, since the inclusion of a c1
chemical implies inclusion of a c2 chemical.
Answer 5 : (c)
Remember that if a chemical is from c1, then a chemical from c2 has to be used but
the other way around is not necessarily true. keeping this in mind, option (c)
becomes a possible option.
Answer 6 : (b)
The maximum possible number of chemicals that can be present in such a mixture
are: 2 from c5 and c6 each, and one each from c1,c2 and c4. Thus, the answer is 7.

Q.15 A, B, C, D, E, F and G are seven persons who travel to office everyday by a

particular train which stops at five stations – I, II, III, IV and V respectively after it
leaves base station. Three among them get in the train at the base station. D gets
down at the next station at which F gets down. B does not get down either with A or
E, G alone gets in at station III and gets down with C after one station. A travels
between only two stations and gets down at station V. None of them gets in at
station II. C gets in with F but does not get in with either B or D. E gets in with two
others and gets down alone after D, B and D work in the same office and they get
down together at station III. None of them gets down at station I.

Answers:

 An
swer 1: (c) E gets in with two others and gets down alone after D and we know that
D get down at station 3, so option c.
Answer 2: (d) Since we know that E gets in at station 3 alone and there was nobody
who gets in from station 2, therefore D may be get in from station number 1 or base
station. So, there is data inadequate so the answer should be d, because C and F
get in either at Base station or station I.
Answer 3: (d) we know that B and D work in the same office and they get down
together at station III. It means they cannot get in at station 3 so they also may get
it from Base station or Station 1 . So none of these is the best answer, so option d.
Answer 4: (c) We know that E gets in with two others and gets down alone after D,
B and D work in the same office and they get down together at station III . So E gets
down after three stations. So the best answer for the question is E gets down after
three stations (I, II And III).
Answer 5 : (b) We know that D gets down at the next station at which F gets down
and E gets in with two others and gets down alone after D, B and D work in the
same office and they get down together at station III. From this it is clear that E
gets down after two stations at which F gets down.
