Rabbi seen at Gateway Frank* a believer called from Riverside, California

In early October we were privileged to see our first
rabbi at Gateway (Irvington) He and his wife came for
a medical referral. She is a citizen of Israel. He is an
Iranian Orthodox rabbi of the Sephardic tradition. A
Hebrew-Christian supporter encouraged me to
remind him that sin is a barrier between man and God
(Isa. 59:1-2), that our own good deeds (mitzvot) won't
remove the barrier (Isa. 64:6), and that God has
provided sacrificial blood to remove the barrier (Lev.
17:11). This was accomplished via a brief brochure we
compiled using two testimonies of Jewish believers in
the Messiah and scripture from the Old Testament
called us, asking if we were a Christian based
pregnancy center. He has a friend, Bob* age 49, who
claims Christ and has attended church regularly.
Bob’s girlfriend (age 37) is pregnant. They were
planning an abortion in mid-November. We referred
them to a crisis pregnancy center in Escondido. Frank
located us on the internet. She had a meeting at the
CPC, but went through with the abortion. She now
seems a bit overwhelmed. We called Frank in early
December and his concern was on how to respond to
his friend. We encouraged him to keep an open door
for the Holy Spirit to work in his friend’s life. He
knows he ‘must show him grace’ but knows that his
recent poor choices have affected their relationship.
Frank sees that his friend was traveling a slippery
slope, making poor choices which led to sex with his
girlfriend, and then the abortion. There is much to
learn from this.
