Tyrell Corporation’s Network troubleshooting training sessions have assisted the onsite IT
team with greater understanding of the enterprise network design. The Layer 2 network has
been implemented and the layer 3 IP addressing scheme has just been designed and
deployed on the Core, Distribution and Data Centre devices.
ba
There are two options to this challenge. The first option uses the Free Lab Friday - Part 7
Implementing Routing Protocols (Etherchannels).pkt file. This is a standard Packet
tracer pkt lab file involving Routing Protocols as well as troubleshooting EtherChannels. In
om

the last FreeLabFriday lab, you were advised about a problem with Packet Tracer and
Etherchannels. In order to get the routing protocol neighbors fully configured, you will have
to troubleshoot this problem in this lab. Because of the Packet Tracer problem, an
assessment file cannot be created.
In the second option, you will use a pka assessment file - Free Lab Friday – Implementing
db

Routing Protocols.pka to challenge yourself to complete the lab and then check the
activity to see how you got on against the scored items in the assessment.
Whichever lab, or even both you attempt, you will have to implementing a scalable, hybrid
vi

routing protocol for the enterprise network. The Core and Distribution devices must use a
fast converging protocol that uses features from both Distance Vector and Link State routing
protocols. The Tyrell Corporation IT Manager has requested that the protocol be easy to
da

implement and flexible as the network grows.

When you have completed the tasks, you will be able to compare your configurations with
the completed pkt file and switch configuration files in the zip file download for the Non-
assessment lab. The Packet Tracer assessment file will grade you and point you to check
certain conditions are met to score this lab on.
Implementation Tasks for the Lab:
Create the loopback 1 interface on each of the five Layer-3 switches. The Loopback IP
addressing scheme will be:
CSW1 10.100.100.1 /32
CSW2 10.100.100.2 /32
1DSW1 10.100.100.3 /32
1DSW2 10.100.100.4 /32
DCSW1 10.100.100.5 /32
The loopback should be given a description of EIGRP Router-ID
EIGRP should be enabled with all devices within the same Autonomous System 101. Each
router must have a manually configured router-id that reflect the loopback interface
Enable EIGRP on the interfaces of each of the Layer-3 switches using the inverse mask of
each routed and loopback interface IP addressing scheme. The Layer 2 Access VLANS are
to be configured by a single summarised statement that is interested in only the first two
octets, while the Data Centre VLAN is to be advertised with the exact inverse of the IP

om
addressing scheme.
Troubleshoot the missing neighbor problem between the switches Etherchannel and ensure
that all switches have the correct full neighbor tables. (Non-Assessment lab ONLY)
To optimise the configuration, ensure that no Routing Protocol hellos are sent via the logical

l.c
interfaces on any routing switch.
On completion of your task, PC11-14 and 31-34 will be able to ping the 5 Servers in the Data
Centre. 10.0.3.70, 10.0.3.80, 10.0.3.90, 10.0.3.100, 10.0.3.110.
ba
In each of the completed switch configs.txt files (Non-Assessment Lab ONLY) there are:
om

1. Completed config files

2. Verification tests for EIGRP Neighbors
3. Verification tests for the EtherChannels
4. Verification tests for the IP addressing on interfaces.
Good luck!
