Software PS2 Action Replay MAX

http://www.worldgate.pt/proddet.php?Produto_ID=193

http://www.ps2savetools.com/download.ph ... ve_Builder

Oficial 1.1 PES5 do PES.COM.PT):

Iniciem o Action Replay MAX e no menu escolham MAX MEMORY:

Ver imagem aqui: http://tutorialmax.no.sapo.pt/max_memory_escolher.jpg

Ver imagem aqui: http://tutorialmax.no.sapo.pt/max_memory_home_pen.jpg

Ver imagem aqui: http://tutorialmax.no.sapo.pt/max_memory_uncrush.jpg

retirar a Pen.

11. I burned a disc with MAX Media Creator and it will not run in my PS2
console. What should I do?

12. I have broken my AR MAX EVO disc, how can I purchase a replacement?

Q: I just purchased the PS2 AR MAX EVO and it did not come with any AR MAX
hardware- why?
A: The new version of the Action Replay MAX (version 3.30 and higher) does not require
the standard AR MAX hardware to function. The new technology that we have allows you
to use your Action Replay MAX without having to keep the necessary AR MAX hardware in
memory card port 2 on your PS2 console thus allowing you more space to store game
saves, codes, etc. For this reason, the latest version of the AR MAX does not come with the
standard AR MAX hardware.

Q: Can the AR MAX EVO play any other form besides DivX formatted files?
A: The AR MAX EVO Edition will ONLY play DivX form; however it comes with a free PC
application that will convert other forms of video into DivX, allowing you to play all of the
most popular video file types on your PS2.

Q: Can the AR MAX EVO play any other type of ROM’s besides MegaDrive ROM’s?
A: The AR MAX EVO Edition will only be able to play copyright-free public domain
MegaDrive ROM’s.
Q: Will I be able to copy videos onto a DivX formatted DVD-R instead of a DivX
formatted CD-R and use them in my PS2?
A: You will only be able to play DivX videos which have been burned on a DivX formatted
CD-R, you will not be able to burn them onto a DivX formatted DVD-R.

Q: Where can I get Genesis ROM’s?

A: Although the AR MAX EVO will allow you to burn and play Genesis ROMs on your
PlayStation 2, we do not provide ROMs to our users. There are many ROMs created by
programming enthusiasts that can be found on the internet and downloaded free of
charge. Please be aware that Datel does not condone the illegal use of pirated commercial
ROMs. Commercial software would be considered any game that was created and sold by
a videogame manufacturer, and they are protected by intellectual copyright laws. We
highly recommend only downloading ROMs which are distributed for free by the games
author.

Here is an example of the legal information normally found in most commercial videogame
manuals.

“Important Legal Information

Copying of any video games for any system is illegal and is strictly prohibited by domestic
and international intellectual properly laws. “Back-up” or “archival” copies are not
authorized and are not necessary to protect your software. Violators will be prosecuted.
This video game is not designed for use with any unauthorized copying device or any
unlicensed accessory. Use of any such device will invalidate your product warranty.”

Q: How do I download the updated AR MAX codelist onto my EVO Drive and use
it with my AR MAX?
A: First ensure you have the latest version of the MAX/EVO Drive PC software installed on
your PC. You can get this from the “Downloads” section of http://www.codejunkies.com/.
Also, make sure the switch on the side of your MAX/EVO Drive is in the “Unlocked”
position, and then just simply follow these steps below.

• Plug the MAX/EVO Drive into a free USB port on your PC

• Open up the MAX/EVO Drive software on your PC
• Click on the “AR MAX CODELIST” button in the upper left hand corner.
• Follow the prompts to download the code list onto your MAX/EVO Drive.
• Once the code list is finished downloading you can close the PC software and
remove the MAX/EVO Drive from your PC (Some PC’s may require you to actually
stop the drive before removing it from the PC)
• Place the MAX/EVO Drive into one of the USB ports on your PS2 console
• Once you load up your AR MAX with the MAX/EVO Drive inserted into your PS2, the
new code list should automatically be recognized. Please Note: DO NOT transfer
the code list onto your memory card; it must load directly from the USB Pen Drive.

Please Note: In order to update your AR MAX with some of the more recent code lists,
version 3.33 or higher is required. If you are using an older version of the AR MAX
software, we would recommend upgrading to the latest version of the software.

Q. How do I download the latest codelist to a CDR?

A: Download the latest codelist to a CD-R using the following steps:

• Make sure that you have the latest PC Software for the Max Drive. You can
download the latest software here. (The latest PC software for MAX Drive and
EVO Drive. )
• Use the Max Drive PC application to download the latest Action Replay MAX PS2
codelist. You will see “Codelist ###” displayed in the Saves category in the left-
hand window. Left-click and drag this file onto your desktop, where it will be shown
as codelist.bin.
• Make sure you have the latest version of Max Media Creator software. Also
available here. (Max Media Creator PC App (version 1.30) )
• Download the UMCDR Updater software (UMCDR Updater software). from our
support section.
• Install and run the Max Media Creator 1.3 software
• Add the Umcd update file and the codelist.bin file to a new project
• Insert a blank CDR and set PS2 Cd-roms as the output method
• Click ‘Create' and then when prompted choose ‘Compatibility Mode 1' on the burn
options dialogue and burn your disc.
• Start Action Replay MAX (3.30 or later) and choose Max Media Player from the main
menu
• When Max Media Player has loaded, swap the Action Replay MAX disc for your
codelist CDR
• When the Codelist Updater runs, swap your CDR for your ARMAX disc wait a few
seconds then swap it back when prompted.
• When the codelist loads choose the codes you would like to include on your codelist
by pressing X, and then press ‘CIRCLE' on your controller when finished selecting
the codes you would like to transfer.
• When asked where you would like to save your codelist to, choose either memory
card slot or USB Pen-drive if you have one by highlighting it and pressing ‘X'.

Once complete, re-load Action Replay MAX with the device to which you have saved the
codelist inserted in your PS2. The updated, customized codelist should be present.

Q: For one of the following problems:

• I am not able to add/delete files to/from my MAX/EVO drive.
• Once I transfer files onto my MAX/EVO drive, when I plug it into my PS2
the files do not show up.
• I am getting an error message when trying to add files to my MAX/EVO
drive.
A: The EVO Drive contains a data security lock feature for the safety of your saves, in
order to add items to or delete items from the EVO Drive you need to make sure the
switch on the side of the EVO Drive is in the unlocked position. Also, it may appear as
though files are transferring onto the EVO Drive while it is plugged into your PC however, if
it is locked those files will not be saved once the EVO Drive is removed from the USB Port.

Q: I have misplaced my PS2 MAX Media Creator PC software disc, is there any
way I can download the software?
A: If the MAX Media Creator disc can not be read by your computer or if you have
misplaced the disc please use the link below to download the PS2 MAX Media Creator
software directly from our website.

Download PS2 Max Media Creator PC Software

Q: When I attempt to install the PC software I get the following error message:
“C:\\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT”.
A: The problem that you are having is an issue with certain files which are missing from
the “windows\system32” folder of your PC. Since this is an issue with your PC settings we
cannot assist you, however we have found a similar problem listed in Microsoft’s support
section of their website and you can use this link to receive additional info/help on this
issue.

Please Note: If the solution provided here does not correct your problem you will need to
contact either Microsoft or the manufacturer of your PC for additional assistance.
Q: I burned a disc with MAX Media Creator and it will not run in my PS2 console.
What should I do?
A: Please ensure that you are using CD-R media, and not CD-RW or DVD-R media. Also,
the burned CD’s will only be able to be read by AR Max Media player, they will not boot in
the PS2 without first booting the Max Media Player Software. If Max Media Player still does
not detect the CD, make sure you have burned the disc using the latest version of Max
Media Creator software (located in the ‘Downloads’ section of www.codejunkies.com) as
standard burning software is not able to properly burn a PlayStation 2 formatted disc. If
you are in fact using the Max Media Creator software and the disc is still not loading in
your PS2 please forward us all available information on your CD Writer (i.e. model, brand,
etc.) using the "Still Need Help?" option.

Please Note:

New in version 1.22+, when you click the "Create" button and see the CD writing options,
you will see new options called "Compatibility Mode". When you first burn a disc you
should use "Normal Compatibility". This mode should work on most CD/DVD writers. If your
discs made in this mode do not work with MAX Media Player then try burning the disc
again with "Alternative Compatibility 1" selected. Again, if this disc doesn't work, try
"Alternative Compatibility 2". If you are in fact using the Max Media Creator software and
the disc is still not loading in your PS2 please forward us all available information on your
CD Writer (i.e. model, brand, etc.) using the "Still Need Help?" option.

Q: I have broken my AR MAX EVO disc, how can I purchase a replacement?

A: If you have broken your disc and would like to purchase a replacement please send
your broken disc along with a check or money order for $9.99 plus $2.00 for shipping and
handling to the address below and we will send you a new disc. Please also include a
short letter explaining the problem and be sure to include your return address. Please
make check payable to “Datel Design & Development”.

customised codelist should be present.

CodeJunkies
Action Replay Max PlayStation 2

Q: Why does the Action Replay MAX tell me that the code I entered in is for another game or that it is an invalid code?

A: If you are getting that type of error message then you need to make sure you are entering in the codes exactly the way they
appear on our website. Also, you must make sure you enter in the (m) code first, directly after you enter in the name of your game.

Q: How do I enter in codes with 16 characters when my Action Replay MAX only has space for 13 characters?

A: You need to make sure you are using the codes made for the Action Replay MAX. Use the following link to get the proper codes.

Q: The codes are correct, why are they still not working?

A: Sony sometimes makes different versions of a game, these games look the same and play the same but the programming of the
games is different. If the original codes are not working for you then you will need to check if there are different versions of the
codes.

These new versions of codes will be on our website named v1.1, v1.2, etc. If there is multiple versions of codes you will need to try
them all and one of them will work for your game.

Q: Can I use GameShark codes on the Action Replay MAX?

A: No, only the Action Replay MAX codes found on our official website
http://us.codejunkies.com/codes.asp?c=US&cr=USD&cs=$&r=0&l=1&p=13 will work on the Action Replay MAX.

Downloading Action Replay MAX codes with MAX Drive

Got an Action Replay MAX? Wondering how to download Action Replay MAX cheat codes using MAX Drive? If you own the older
version of Action Replay MAX which comes with a code card/dongle then you will need to download the code list onto a standard PS2
memory card - the basic Action Replay MAX code card/dongle cannot be used as a PS2 memory card. The current instruction
manual does not make this clear. Once you've transferred the code list to a memory card using MAX Drive, load Action Replay MAX
with both the memory card and your code card/dongle inserted into your PS2's memory card slots. Action Replay will search for the
newest code list and use it. If you own an Action Replay MAX Limited Edition that came with a code card/dongle which also doubles
as an 8MB or 16MB memory card, then you don't need to use a separate memory card.

Latest MAX codelist for Pen-Drive update for ARMAX 3.32 or lower (Updated 17/01/06)

If you have version 3.32 or older of Action Replay MAX you can get your codelist up-to-date with this
codelist file download in .max (max drive) format.

(Users of Action Replay MAX 3.33 or higher need only to download the ARMAX codelist to their Pen-
Drive using the Max Drive PC software and load ARMAX with the Pen-Drive inserted)

Users of Action Replay MAX 3.32 or less

• Download the ARMAX 302 XXX file from the downloads section at the bottom of this
doculment. The XXX stands for the current version of the codelist.
• Copy the ARMAX_332_XXX.max file to your USB Pen-drive using either My Computer (in
Windows) or the MAX Drive PC software.
• Boot your Action Replay MAX 3.32 (or older) software and go into Memory Manager.
• Insert a PS2 memory card into either slot on your PS2™ and your USB Pen-drive into a USB
port.
• On the ‘Select Primary Device' screen choose the memory card. If you already have an ‘Action
Replay MAX Settings' file on the memory card, delete it.
• Press ‘TRIANGLE' to go back and then select the USB Pen-drive.
• Wait a couple of seconds for the files to be shown then find and select the ‘Action Replay MAX
Settings' file then move right and choose UNCRUSH to your memory card.
• Once the transfer is complete, remove the USB Pen-drive and reboot your PS2™. When Action
Replay MAX loads you will have access to all the new codes.
1) FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS – WHAT IS ACTION REPLAY MAX?

Q: What does Action Replay MAX do?

A: Action Replay MAX is Datel's new cheat code system and media player for PlayStation 2. Action
Replay MAX lets you enhance your PS2 games with gamebusting cheat codes such as infinite lives,
unlock hidden characters, open all levels, and much, much more. The revolutionary new media
player feature means that you can take digital music, movies and even retro games from your PC
and play them on a normal PS2 via CD-R or USB flash drive. Action Replay MAX also includes a
multi-region DVD movie player and advanced game save features.

Q: What's the difference between Action Replay MAX and the EVO Edition?
A: They use exactly the same Action Replay MAX codes and have the same features, but EVO
Edition also comes bundled with a USB flash drive allowing you to transfer codes, saves, roms and
media files between a computer and PS2.

2) FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS – ACTION REPLAY CHEAT CODES

Q: What is an (M) code?

A: These codes are called "Master Codes" and they MUST BE ON for Action Replay to function
properly. Every game title we have created Action Replay codes for will have an (M) code. When
manually inputted the (M) code must be the first cheat entered above all others. The "(M)" codes
cannot be turned off or deleted.

Q: I have typed in my (M) code and it is not appearing on screen within the game title.
A: Action Replay MAX does require an (M) code to be inputted into the system. However, as it
requires to be switched on for all/any of the codes to function we have removed the (M) code title
so that this important code cannot be tampered with (edited, changed or switched off) in any way.

Q: Can I use codes from my old Action Replay V2?

A: No, codes are not transferable between Action Replay MAX and the old V2, as AR V2 Playstation
2 codes consist of 16 digits and AR MAX codes are 13 digits long. Because of new features like
game auto-detect and expert mode, it was necessary to change the structure of our codes for
Action Replay MAX.

Q. Why will a certain game refuse to load, or crash/freeze?

A. You may have too many cheat codes activated. Try cutting down on the amount you are trying
to use. Also make sure you have entered the "M" code correctly.

Q: I am trying to enter US codes for my US games using my European version of AR MAX,

but the game and cheats disappear after I have entered them?
A: The European version of AR MAX is not designed to be functional with US codes. If you have a
US console then you will require a US version of AR MAX for it to function correctly. Do not try to
enter codes from another region, or you may have to reset your AR MAX settings (see next
question for instructions).

Q. I managed to enter the game title and (M) code for my game using cheats codes
found on the Codejunkies web site, however when I went back into the AR MAX game list
the game title I had just entered was not there. When I try and add the game again it
tells me that the game already exists. What is happening?
A: It sounds like you have entered codes from the wrong region. Please check that you have
inputted the correct codes for your version of the game. UK codes are not compatible with the US
AR MAX disc or US games, just as US codes are not compatible with the European disc or
European games. If you are entering codes designed for a game from a foreign region eg, US
codes on a European disc, they will not appear within the game list. If this has been done you
must then reset your AR MAX and all manually inputted codes and settings will be lost.

If the wrong codes have been entered then you may need to reset the AR MAX settings on your
memory card. Please note this will lose any other information manually entered onto your AR MAX
codelist and restore it to factory settings. To reset your AR MAX, load up the disc with your
memory card in memory slot 1. After the white "Playstation 2" logo appears, hold down L1, L2, R1,
R2, Start and Select for a few seconds before the "loading graphics" screen appears. A prompt will
appear asking if you would like to reset - select "yes" to reset and allow the AR MAX to load as
usual. Please note this will delete all codes which have been manually entered on your AR MAX
(you will still be able to access the original codes that came preloaded with your AR MAX).

Q: How do I make a folder containing cheat codes appear?

A: To create a folder you will need to type in a code. These should be posted with the folder title.
Insert as you would a cheat title, except with the folder title, and input the code given. Once you
enter one of the cheats to go inside that folder, the folder (and the cheat within it) will appear.

Q: Can I change the title of an individual cheat?

A: Yes, you can give the individual cheats any title you see fit. However, Action Replay MAX does
require a (M)/master code to be inputted into the system. However, as it requires to be switched
on for all/any of the codes to function we have removed the (M) code title so that this important
code cannot be tampered with (edited changed or switched off) in any way.

Q: Why does the Action Replay MAX tell me that the code I entered in is for another
game, or that it is an invalid code?
A: If you are receiving this type of error message then you need to make sure you are entering the
codes exactly the way they appear on our web site. Codes will only contain the number 0 ("zero")
and not the letter "O". Also, check you don't confuse your Z's with your 2's. Finally, you must
make sure you enter in the (M) code first, directly after you enter in the name of your game.

Q: The new codes I entered are correct, so why are they still not working?
A: Sony sometimes makes different versions of a game, these games look the same and play the
same but the programming of the games is different. If the original codes are not working for you
then you will need to check if there are different versions of the codes. These new versions of
codes will be on our web site named v1.1, v1.2, etc.

Q: I found some Action Replay MAX cheats on another web site and tried them but they
don't work. Why?
A: Make sure that the codes are from the CODES section of the official Action Replay web site,
www.codejunkies.com, or are from another official source such as PlayStation 2 magazines. Check
you have entered official “Action Replay MAX” compatible cheats.
