Q1. Motorolla has been adjudged as one of the top
training companies in the world. Comment on the
employee training and development practices at
Motorola. Why do you think the company received
an international recognition for its training and
development practices?
Ans. Motorola has been recognized as one of the
best providers of Training to its employees. Motorola
began training to its employees early light decades its
shows Motorola was one of the best companies which
was provided technical training on factory floor and
provide best training to new recruiters as well as old
employees to complete training how to handle new
equipment .
As per Motorola Training companies will make
model organization in a corporate world.
As per its continuous learning process, it was
recognized of excellent training, educating and
development practices. The American society for training
and development ( ASID) ranked Motorola as Top
training company in the world and awarded with
champion of workplace training and performance award.
It shows Motorola was more focus on its
employees and new recruiters for providing best training,
educating and developing to establish top emerged as top
company in the world and make a ideal model
organization in the corporate world .
Q2. Motorola University was established in 1989 to
fulfill training and development needs of employees
at Motorola . Study the training programs offered by

and drawbacks of e-learning in employee
training and development ? Explain.
Ans. Motorola emphasis on e-learning
where education and trained through internet and other
sources of media. E-learning was very cost effective more
knowledgeable and efficient .
Motorola established own internal
institute named college of learning technology (CLT) for
the development of education through internet and virtual
class room both. Employees download all the content
video and courses across the world from the 23 servers
across the globe.
Motorola emphasis Training and learning
35 percent from e-learning and 65 percent of classrooms.
It is based on the benefits and e-learning such as:
 E-learning as a self directed learning process to
enable employees to fulfill their specific and unique
learning needs.
 E-learning provides freedom for individual level
learning which provide more time and specific

 Cost effective because of no need to go different
location across the world for training.
 E-learning makes more fun through the use of
multimedia or the other recent developed methods.

 E-learning Drawbacks:
 E-learning have many drawbacks like
students feels alone and not emphasis on
the learning rather than a trainer based
classroom training.
 E-learning have health related issues
like bad posture , tired eyes, body pdm .
Whereas; regular classroom Trainer give
instruction for sit in a right posture.
