FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

ESCP Europe SCHOLARSHIP

ESCP Europe scholarships are intended for students of the Master in


Management only. Are excluded non Europeans students admitted in 2008
through the SAI admission process and students receiving other scholarships.

Scholarships granted by the School cover 25% or 50% of tuition fees and are
deducted from the tuition fees.

I – CAN I BE GRANTED A ESCP Europe SHOLARSHIP?

Q1: I am a student in MBA, MEB, MS or exchange programme. Can I get a ESCP Europe
scholarship?
R: No, you can not. ESCP Europe scholarship is limited to students enrolled in the Master in
Management “Grande Ecole programme”

Q2 : I have been granted the “Eiffel” scholarship. Can I get a ESCP Europe scholarship?
R : No, you cannot because you will loose your “Eiffel” scholarship.

Q3 : I wish to apply this year for the “Eiffel” Scholarship. Can I obtain a ESCP
Europe scholarship the same year of applying?
R : Yes, you can because the “Eiffel” scholarship, if you are granted, will only start the year
after.

Q4 : I have been granted a merit scholarship (this scholarship is limited to students being
admitted through PMAT). Can I get a ESCP Europe scholarship?
R : No you can not because you will loose your merit scholarship.

Q5 : I am enrolled in the Apprenticeship track for this year. Can I apply for a ESCP Europe
scholarship ?
R : No, you can not because, during your Apprenticeship track, you do not pay tuition fees
and you receive a wage from your company.

Q6: I will study one semester at ESCP Europe and will work as a trainee in a company the
other semester. Can I get a ESCP Europe scholarship?
R: Yes you can be granted a ESCP Europe scholarship. But keep in mind that you have to
apply at the beginning of your term (September).

Q7: I will be at ESCP Europe one semester and will be abroad in an exchange programme
the other semester, can I get a ESCP Europe scholarship?
R: Yes, you can get a scholarship for the entire year.

Q8: I will be abroad in an exchange programme the entire year. Can I get a ESCP Europe
scholarship?
R: Yes, you can get a ESCP Europe scholarship for the entire year.
Q9: I am a student enrolled in the “Grande Ecole programme” on a different campus than
Paris, can I get a ESCP-EAP scholarship?
R: Yes you can.

Q10: I repeat a part of the first year courses (Pré-Master year)) ”redoublant partiel”. Can I get
a ESCP Europe scholarship?
R: If you are enrolled in the Master cycle (second year of the “Grande Ecole programme”)
and if you pay your tuition fees as usual, you can apply for a ESCP Europe scholarship.
However, the ESCP-EAP scholarship won’t finance additional fees due to repeated
courses.

Q11: I repeat the entire first year courses of the “Grande Ecole” programme “redoublant”.
Can I get a ESCP Europe scholarship?
R: No you can not get a ESCP Europe scholarship if you repeat an entire year.

Q12: I am suspended. Can I get a scholarship?


R: No you can not get a ESCP Europe scholarship if you are suspended.

II- FINANCIAL RESOURCES TO CONSIDER AND DOCUMENTS TO INCLUDE

Q13: What are the financial resources on the tax assessment that are taken into account to
know if you meet the financial chart criteria?
R: You have to consider wages (before deductibles), allowances, retirement pensions from
both parents as well as industrial and commercial benefits, agricultural benefits, shares
dividends, movable incomes, estate incomes and all other financial resources of your
family. This is the same if your financial resources are out of France (wages declared
before taxation).

Q14: My parents are divorced. I am financially dependent on one of them who got married
again. Do I have to consider my new step parent’s financial resources?
R: Yes, you have to include wages of the parent whose dependent you are as well as those
of his/her new spouse.

Q15: My parents are divorced for more than 2 years. I am financially dependent on one of
my parents. Do I have to declare incomes of my other parent on the ESCP Europe
scholarship application form?
R: No, you don’t.

Q16: My parents’ financial resources are in a foreign currency. How can I convert it into
euros?
R: You must use the official exchange rate we give you on the ESCP Europe intranet. We
compute it on the annual average (on reference year) of the exchange rates (“taux de
chancellerie”) officially published by the French ministry of the Economy, Finances and
Industry.

Q17: Can I translate documents by myself or do I have to have my documents translated by


a certified translator?
R: A French or English translation is mandatory. If the document is in Spanish, German or
Italian you can translate it yourself. In the other case, we request a certified translation.

Q18: My parents’ incomes are lower this year than last year declared incomes on their tax
assessment (due to unemployment, decease…). What can I do?
R: You must provide us with the requested tax assessment. However, in your cover letter, you
can explain your situation and changes that have occurred during the year. Do not forget to
attach documents to prove these changes (unemployment certificate, death certificate…).
Q19: I apply for another scholarship but I have no answer for the moment. What can I do?
R: You have to mention in your application form that you apply for another scholarship and
that you do not know whether it will be granted or not and for how much.

IV- MARRIED, INDEPENDENT CANDIDATES…

Q20: I declare my incomes separately from my parents. Do I have to include my parents’


income?
Yes, you do. To examine your situation, even in your case, we need to know your parents’
financial resources and you need to provide us with an official document given by a fiscal
institution to prove your parents’ incomes.

Q21: I am married. What do I have to fill in the ESCP Europe scholarship application form?
R: One page is dedicated to your spouse’s financial resources.

V- SCHOLARSHIP PAYMENT

Q22: When do we know if we are granted the ESCP Europe scholarship?


R: ESCP-EAP informs you at the time of your first tuition fees invoice around mid-November.

Q23: How will I get this scholarship?


R: You will receive mid-November a discount on your first semester invoice corresponding to
the scholarship. Be carefull, only half of the scholarship granted is discounted each semester
on the invoice.

Exceptional SCHOLARSHIP

You can obtain a scholarship during the year only in very exceptional cases of serious
financial problems following changes. Example: If there is a birth in the household or if
incomes have collapsed compared to last year incomes (unemployment, death, divorce…).

You have to fill the same documents as for the ESCP Europe scholarship.
