WORKERS RELATIONSHIP 2
Organizational unions are created for the benefits of both the employees and the
employers. Although it may seem like the workers reap most of the benefits, their job
satisfaction and happiness working on the job helps to improve performance and increase
productivity. Therefore, in essence, having unions benefit the corporations and governments
through indirectly. No matter where they work, employees should receive protection from unfair
rules, policies, and corporate cultures. Non-unionized companies are not more likely to mistreat
their employees, but when they do, they can get away with it, because workers get no protection
from their unjust policies. Most business organizations want to have full autonomy over hiring
and firing their employees, and many are reluctant to have constraints imposed on them when
workers are unionized. With unions, there are established courses of action for employees to take
when they have certain grievances, and these steps help ensure that they are given fair treatment
and are not being unjustly laid off or demoted in their jobs.
Collective bargaining is also a common practice in unionized jobs as many members join
hands to discuss working conditions, wage rates or compensation that they want changed. It is

group rather than acting individually. In unionized scenarios, the workers have a strong hand in
their negotiations because management risks alienating the entire work force when they act
unfairly.

Shrewd businesses can take advantage of the unions by using them to work with their employees
rather than against them. The objective is to view employees as part of the same team, rather

than an adversary. When companies and their unionized staff members work together to establish
a healthy work environment, every party wins. Ultimately, it is the responsibility of all the
parties involved whether they are the worker unions, business organizations, or employees to
create a win-win situation rather than a win-lose one. When a win-win situation is established,
business organizations will appreciate the unions and their contribution toward workers’ morale
and well-being. It has been proven by studies time and time again those happy, well-motivated
