Coolpad CP3636A Driver File

1. The coolpad Driver is pre-loaded in device connect USB cable to PC and select File Transfer.

2. On PC after connecting USB cable select Open Folder to view Files

3. On PC select CD Drive as seen in pic:

The Coolpad driver can be ran from the drive or copied to test PC and ran independently.
Coolpad CP3636A Driver Install

1. Copy the executable file to the directory of your choice in designated PC. Install Coolpad Driver
for CP3636A by double clicking on the executable Coolpad-140926-SETUP.EXE.

2. Monitor the installation of the above file and the PC should display the following ports.

User can monitor Device manager and the installation will display as follows.

1. Coolpad Android Composite ADB Interface

2. Coolpad Wireless HS-USB Ethernet Adapter # (# Depend on PC)
3. Coolpad Android AT USB VCOM (COM#) (# Depend on PC)
4. Coolpad Android Diagnostics USB VCOM (COM#) (# Depend on PC)

3. Install YGDP tool by double clicking the executable below, running the following, the version will
depend on release, but functionality should not be affected.

4. Open YGDP and enter password 9527

5. YGDP Tool is Open, the user options Config, Start and Stop.
 6. Open Config menu by selecting “Config” tool will display the following:

Located the folder where the new software build is located and select Apply, to set the desired build.

After selecting Apply the tool will check the file, once it finishes it will close automatically and the tool is
ready to Flash.
To Flash the phone you must turn it off. Once the phone is off, press the volume up key and connect
the USB cable to your PC, this will put the phone in flashing mode. The screen will display the
following “Information Do not disconnect the data Cable” If the phone is in the correct flashing mode
YGDP will detect it and connect to a flash cell, see example below.

7. Once the software is selected you can select start, the “Yellow” arrow will indicate the phone is
connected to a cell, in the example below cell 4. The Progress bar will increase from 0% to 100%
and change to “Green”.

When completed the screen will change to the following:

 8. Disconnect the phone from USB and power the device up and configure to your settings.

Coolpad CP3636A Enable USB Debugging

To enable USB debugging to connect and use ADB commands, the test engineer can open the device
Settings.

Settings -> About Phone ->Build Number (Press as many times as prompted until Developer Option is
available)

Press Back Key and select Develop Options check USB debugging mode is “On”

To start phone logging the user must enter Net Monitor by selecting the dial pad and entering
*#*#20060606#*#*. In the example below because the phone opens the menu as the user enters the
last “*” the image does not reflect the entire key sequence *#*#20060606#*#*

Make sure you enter all the characters listed.

Select Offline log settings

Remove all existing logs before starting a test.

Step 3

Clear All Buffers before starting a test.

Step 4

Select File Directory (default setting is easy to remove logs when connecting USB cable)

Start logging select the check box, to exit the logging menu press the back key until reaching main UI
screen. Once the logging starts the user can verify from main screen by dropping the pull down status.

Stop logging unselect the check box.

Step 1

Connect USB cable to test PC, from the dropdown menu in UI, select USB File Transfer

Step 2

On PC after connecting USB cable select Open Folder to view Files

Select CP3636A Internal Shared Storage \Log

Step 3

Copy logs to your PC or desired directory

Coolpad CP3636A Phone Testing Mode Change

1. To enter Phone Testing Mode the user must enter by selecting the dial pad and entering
*#*#4636#*#*. In the example below because the phone opens the menu as the user enters
the last “*” the image does not reflect the entire key sequence *#*#4636#*#*
Make sure you enter all the characters listed.

2. Select Phone Information scroll down to Set Preferred Network Type.
