Chandler Concrete Company was presented with the 2009 Business Partner of the Year

tough, our base of support for the College and Foundation came through strongly.

Unfortunately, conditions have not improved to the extent we can see an end to double digit unemployment. The
dedicated members of the ACC Foundation Board of Directors continue to seek funds to meet student demands. And,
for this diligence, we are so very thankful. Our faculty and staff also understand the struggle to assist students, and
they, too, have increased their giving during these difficult times. With more than 95% of all full-time employees
contributing to the Foundation this past year, I know they comprehend the importance of the Foundation’s support for
students.

Dear ACC Donors and

cu
CF Friends,

tiv
AC

The opportunities provided by

e
growth has been our theme in
the past year. Certainly ACC
and the ACC Foundation have
seen plenty of growth.

– In the past 10 years, enrollment

at ACC has grown by 52% to
more than 5,500 students.
– Over the past six years, ACC
Foundation aid to students has
grown by 55% to just under
$500,000 annually.
– Cost per credit hour has grown
by 49% in the past 5 years.

The opportunities provided by

the growth in enrollment,
demand for aid and increase in
tuition have been numerous.

They include:
– Streamlining the ACC Foundation budget to more specifically focus on providing assistance for at-risk students
– Sharing a compelling message with donors about the urgent needs of our students in this difficult time
– Utilizing the time and talents of our volunteers and students

The economy has contracted in Alamance County and our community college, ACC, has responded by providing a
longer instructional day, more sections and more electronic options. The ACC Foundation has responded by contin-
uing to provide assistance to all students who qualify and need it.

I thank you for being part of the Alamance Community College family and among its supporters.
