Text: John 3:22 -35
Memory Verse: John 3:30
Introduction
Last week, we saw that we are filled at each point in time
with something. Or someone. We also discussed what God
wants us to be filled with.
To be filled with something, means a particular content
needs to be evacuated. Something must go out before
something can come in. Something has to reduce before
something can increase.
As Christ’s disciples, you must get to a point in our walk
with God where someone has to decrease in your life: YOU!
Case Studies
1. John the Baptist was active in God’s work. But he came to a
point when he knew he had to decrease. (John 3:30)
2. Jesus Christ, God’s own Son came to that point too. Luke
22:41-44, John 12:24
3. Abraham, in his walk with God, had that same encounter.
Gen.22:2,6. He had to die to his natural self-preservation
instincts. He had to let go, and let God.
4. Job came to that point too, and he confessed, “though he slay
me...” Job 13:15a
5. Paul, paints his own experience clearly in 1Cor.15:31
God gives His Spirit (& power) without measure. John 3:34.
But the more of Him you want, the less of you there must
be. More Him=Less you. More you=Less Him
What then do we do? (Exod 3:10a)
1. Humility
2. Holiness. Hed 12:14
3. More time with Him. Walk with Him.
