This week, you are asked for to write a letter from a previous Provincial Achievement Test.

Activity/Task #1: Write a letter on a topic from a previous Provincial Achievement Test:

Description of Activity or Task: 

Please write a letter to respond to the question provided relating to establishment of a work
experience program and its potential benefits.
Please refer to the assignment link in the “Resources” section just below.
I have asked you to write letters earlier this year in class, so you may remember how to
approach these. Please follow the formatting instructions on pp. 9-11 on the assignment link. As
for how to format the actual writing portion of your letter, please consider the following:
Paragraph 1: Introduce yourself and your topic (this can be short and to-the-point).
Paragraphs 2 and 3: Make your argument—this should provide plenty of detailed support. Be as
persuasive as possible.

Paragraph 4: Thank the person you’re writing to for taking the time to read your letter, and
provide contact information for yourself (usually and email address—you can make this up if you
want). This, like paragraph 1, can be short.
*Please note: For these Provincial Achievement Test letter assignments, you are not writing as
yourself; you are asked to be someone else (in this case “Kelly Greer”).
