1. INTRODUCTION

English has become the universal language because it is the most widely spoken language in the
world, which is why thousands of people every day decide to study and train in this language; in
order to improve their work and personal lifestyle. Since with the mastery of this language you
will have the advantage when promoting or accessing another job.

Next an essay will be developed; highlighting the importance of why study and learn English.
2. OBJECTIVES

Overall objective

 Highlight the importance of English in our professional life.

Specific goal

 Do an essay about why study English.

 Understand how essential it is to learn to master the language of English.

3. TEST “Why is learning English so important?

Globalization has encouraged human beings to become more competent every day, reaching the
point of inclining them to learn new languages that open doors to the world of work, being a
pioneer in the field of business of a company or multinational, since thanks to of a second
language such as English; language that every day is in demand from professionals for its teaching
as professionals from various careers who have mastery of it, this is how you begin to understand
the reason for its importance that will be justified along with the thinking of some authors.

According to Tsedal Neeley, a professor at the Harvard Business School, says that bilingualism is
the answer. "Companies need a language strategy, especially if they have international
aspirations," he explains. The benefits of using a lingua franca in the business environment are
numerous: from fluent cross-border communication to the ability to provide services to
international clients. English, as Neeley points out, "... is the global business language right now."

The English language is also a clear example of these patterns to which Thomson (1993) refers.
Considered as a living language that has not stopped evolving, throughout its eventful history it
has adopted words from other languages such as Nordic, Latin, Greek and Spanish, among others,
but mainly French, since 50 a hundred of the English vocabulary derives from it. Despite its
degree of difficulty, this language is constantly innovating, opening doors of employment for those
who have struggled and have developed the ability to speak it and put it into practice in their daily
life, whether for a job, going on vacation, to interact with other people or as a hobby.

To finish, it is important to highlight the learning of English since thanks to it, you can conquer
new frontiers at work, with this ability you can travel without any complications or frustration, it is
also a tool that improves the quality of life of a person, family, company, company and country;
that is why it is important to make the effort to acquire this skill not only for personal purposes but
thinking of improving the vision of the country we inhabit COLOMBIA

4. CONCLUSIONS

 It is important to study English because the human being is in a modern world of constant
evolution that professionals require every day the ability to master the language of English,
a situation that makes it an important part of the professional and daily life of every human
being.

 English, despite being a language that for many is an obligation to study and learn, for
others it is a skill that they have developed through the knowledge and opportunities and
doors that this language opens at an international level, thus becoming a challenge for
many in order to improve their income and lifestyles.
