We think that performance on a test like this might accurately predict people's ability to
play a musical instrument or sing: people who are very skilled musicians might be more
skilled at being able to tell how the tunes differ from one another. This is just a
hypothesis, though. It might turn out to be wrong.
By participating in this research, you are helping us to learn more about how musical
abilities vary across different populations, ages, locations, and more; and how musical
abilities might be related to musical experiences, like listening to lots of music online, or
attending music classes in school.
