Islamic Tourism Centre
On 20th January 2009, the Government of Malaysia approved the setting-up of
the Islamic Tourism Centre as a company limited by guarantee. The Centre was
officially launched on 16th March 2009 at Auditorium, Al-Azim State Mosque,
Melaka by the Governor of Melaka and Minister of Tourism, Malaysia. It is to be
supervised by a Board of Directors comprising of both Government officials and
representatives from private sector.
The Islamic Tourism Centre’s core activity is to facilitate the Ministry of Tourism,
Malaysia in undertaking strategic research for tourism policy formulation that will
enhance travel and sustainable tourism development of the Malaysian tourism
industry. The Centre is to compliment and supplement the Ministry of Tourism,
Malaysia, Tourism Malaysia and other relevant tourism organisations in areas
devoted to sustainable tourism and serve as an advisory’ capacity.

Curtin Sarawak was established in 1999 as the first offshore campus of Western Australia's Curtin University of Technology at the invitation of the
Sarawak State Government, which recognised the need for a tertiary institution of international calibre to match the city's tremendous growth, as well
as Curtin's reputation for excellence in the region. In a matter of just ten years, Curtin Sarawak has established itself as a world-renowned
international university in East Malaysia, attracting students from all over the world to our state-of-the-art campus amidst a beautiful garden setting in
Senadin, about 20 kilometres from the centre of Miri City.
We are a popular choice for our international outlook, innovative courses, world-class teaching facilities, flexible study options, applied and practical
subjects, use of advanced technology, partnerships with industry and government, ideal campus location, experienced academics and staff, and
active community engagement.
However, with the current turn of economic events worldwide, seeking the best education option now needs to take into serious consideration the
cost factor. This has led many parents and students in the region to consider Curtin Sarawak, which offers the best of all worlds.
