Hello comrades, my name is Archie Costello, head

of the Vigils at Trinity Academy. I find it remarkable that
I am being asked to do a forward for an animal’s textbook,
but what the hell.
Your leader, Napoleon, is very serious about his role as   Archie is one of the main characters of The
leader of Animal Farm. Sure, at times he can be a little
extreme and piggish (pun intended), but he does it for the Chocolate War. He represents fear and had the

CHAPTER I: HOW TO BE A ROYAL

PAIN W / N A P O L E O N

THIS CHAPTER WILL EXPLAIN THE “HOW-TO” OF DICTATORSHIP.
Lesson I How to Establish Rules and Commandments
Lesson II How to Use Force to Control
Lesson III How to Deceive the Illiterate and Ignorant
Lesson IV How to Train Animals for Protection
Lesson V How to Establish Relations with Humans

LESSON I: HOW TO ESTABLISH RULES OR COMMANDMENTS

“Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men.” -
  Douglas Bader

HOW TO:
1. Make sure that when you first establish
commandments that you make them so that you can add 1. Whatever goes upon two legs is an
to them later to suit your needs enemy
2. When you adjust the commandments make sure that 2. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has
wings, is a friend
you are discreet and so nobody realizes the difference
3. No animal shall wear clothes
3. Make sure that you have an ultimatum for the less 4. No animal shall sleep in a bed
capable citizens 5. No animal shall drink alcohol
  6. No animal shall kill any other animal
7. All animals are equal

LESSON II: HOW TO USE

FORCE TO CONTROL

HOW TO:

1. Establish in your citizen’s minds “who

the boss is”. Therefore, there will be no
confusion on who’s in charge.
2. You need to create a protection group.
In my case, I raised Jessie’s puppies from
birth to be watch/guard dogs.
3. Establish FEAR- you need to
intimidate others and develop a scared or
fearful image of you.
4. Do random spontaneous acts of violence
to those who oppose you as an example to
others who may try to do the same.

A Note from the Desk of

Nap oleon:

I pulled this one by using the good ‘ol

fashioned way of using force. When I
was defied or questioned, I simply called
on my dogs to do the dirty work. This
created fear and cooperation throughout
the farm. It just goes to show you, you
can’t gain respect without a little
violence…

“Terror is only justice: prompt, severe and inflexible; it is then an emanation of virtue; it is
less a distinct principle thana natural consequence of the general principle ofdemocracy,
applied to the most pressing.”- Maximilien Robespierre

  LESSON
III: HOW TO DECEIVE THE ILLITERATE AND
IGNORANT

A note from the desk of

Napoleon:
My example of how I did this is to reason
that the superiors must have better
conditions or else we cannot function.
Then I raised a loyal pack of hounds to
look and act fierce so that all animals who

LESSON IV: HOW TO TRAIN

ANIMALS FOR PROTECTION

To have an army at your command,

you must have three things: (1) an enemy,
(2) the ability to deliver a rousing speech,
and (3) never panic! I used a useless pig
named Snowballthat I drove out of my
land. Everything bad that happened on the
farm I blamed on Snowball so that all of

LESSON I: BATTLE STRATEGIES

To ensure prime victory, you must do
research to understand how other more reliable
people have done in such instances. It makes you
seem more sophisticated to your people to quote
Julius Caesar to your troops. Then you have the
battle plan. It must be very well thought out and
if you for some reason cannot fulfill the original Remember, rapid furious attacks are

original plans. Battles should usually happen in
three phases, distraction, fear/retreat on your
behalf, and then a brutal attack to drive the
other force out. We used pigeon, then sheep.
When the sheep retreat, the enemy celebrates, you
release you force of good fighters and catch them
off guard to drive them out.

STAYING SAFE W / N A P O L E O N
EXPLAINS HOW TO CREATE PARANOIA AND HOW YOU CAN STAY SAFE
LessonI Creating Paranoia and Who You Need
Lesson II How to Stay Safe

LESSON II: HOW TO

STAY SAFE

It is incredible, the power of the
mind. You can envision something and make
yourself truly believe that you have it. In
the case of the dictator, it is necessary to
stay safe using your mind. Remember that
you are not paranoid you just have a strong
sense of when people are trying to kill you.
Also it is imperative to believe that your
friends could be potential spies so even
though you love them, don’t let anything
important slip because it could lead to your
downfall.

Next, let’s discuss the assassination.

It is a thing to be feared as a dictator
because of you tenuous position. Here are
some tips to stay safe:
1. Don’t leave your
residence/workplace if you can avoid
it except for interviews or speeches.
2. If possible, adjoin your
workplace/home to one place so that But remember, if you’re too paranoid,
you never have to leave. you might just end up in this padded
3. If/when you leave your residence, cell like this human….
do so by wearing bullet proof armor,
and have as many guards around you
as you can for protection.

CHAPTER IV: MY ROLE MODELS

JOSEF STALIN

Josef Stalin was the totalitarian

dictator of the Communist government in
the Soviet Union. He was responsible for
over 40 million deaths, I know that sounds
like a lot but hey, he had a good reason to
kill them. The Soviet Union needed to be WHAT   WE   CAN   LEARN   FROM   HIM   and

OUR RATSEL CHILD

ADOLF HITLER

Adolf Hitler was the dictator of
Germany during WWII. He was the
creator of “The Final Solution”, formally
known as the Holocaust. In late July
1921, he became the leader of the Nazis,
or the National Socialist German
Workers’ Party until 1945.
Throughout his dictatorship Hitler
created underhanded treaties with other
European countries; such as, the WHAT   WE   CAN   LEARN   FROM   HIM   and

Bonaparte was the military and

Robespierre’s assassination, became emperor

Through annexing many European
countries, he gained respect and admiration
from throughout Europe.
