Greeting
I am Good. Sir/Madam. Thank you. ( how are you today ?)
My Chinese name is Shiqi Cai, and you can also call me Chloe. I am from Chengdu,
Sichuan Province, China. Currently/Now, I am 14 and I am an 8 th grade student
and I am studying in Chengdu Experimental School. I guess I am a friendly and
easygoing girl and I like to make friends with people from different places. I
really appreciate this interview opportunity and I really want to study in your
school and learn some useful knowledge from your teachers and students.
Firstly, I think Canada is a very beautiful and clean country with lots of natural
views. The transport is very convenient and it is a safe place to live in (Food is
very healthy) Also I think Canadians(people in Canada) are very friendly and
kind. The most important thing is that the education system in Canada is very
comprehensive and developed/advanced. From my knowledge, Canada’s
education focuses on improving students’ creativity and individuality 创造性和
个性, while Chinese education is more rote-learning. So I think by studying in
Canada, I can learn lots of useful knowledge that is different from China. And I
can develop some understanding of study/discover my potentials 发掘我的潜力
in different areas and become more independent and active in study.
4. Why do you study in our school ? how do you know us ? What do you know
about our school ?
Well, first of all, I saw some pictures on the school website, I think the school has
a very beautiful and clean environment with lots of natural views.
And I know the discipline in your school is good, so I believe I can study under a
good learning atmosphere/environment in your school.
The most important thing is that I think your school has well-equipped teaching
facilities and resources, Also, the school has cultivated/produced many
excellent/talented students. So I believe that with the guide under your school’s
program, I can realize my goal/aim in study and enter a prestigious/famous
university in Canada in the future.
I like the lifestyle in Canada the best. That is because I think the lifestyle there is
very comfortable and relaxing and if I am going to study and live in Canada, I
want to live happily and enjoy the life there.
Also, I think the Canadian are very friendly and kind. So I would like to make
friends with some local people and know more about Canada.
Also, I found myself to have talent in learning languages and I can learn English
easier than other subjects and I can always get good grades in English.
miss home/family/lonely-
first of all, I will try to call or video chat with my parents and tell them my daily
life in Canada. And meanwhile, I can take part in different activities or clubs in
school and then I can make some new friends. So maybe I won’t feel lonely that
much.
First of all, I need to improve my English skills, so to make sure that I can
understand what the teachers are teaching and communicate with
locals/classmates fluently.
Secondly, I guess I need to prepare myself both physically and mentally. I need to
be a fast-learner and so I can adjust to the new environment in Canada quickly.
Additional questions
12. what’s the subject you dislike at school ?
Honestly, I don’t like physics. Because just most girl students, I found myself have
more talents in arts subjects like English or Chinese instead of science subjects.
Besides, my physics teacher doesn't really focus on individual students’ learning
process. So that's why I find physics is difficult for me but I will still try my best to
learn this subject.
