I found the race is always on for cut offs and analysis.

This time when I searched for IBSAT 2010 there were

hardly any. There are many reasons, first they didn’t allowed students to take paper out of the examination
hall, secondly very less viewers are searching for IBSAT 2010 analysis according to Google. So there is not
much pie left on the cake for which you want to spend some extra bug. After getting so much demand from the
student community and gathering various resources for IBSAT, I am finally penning down how was the paper
and what was the difficulty level was. IBSAT 2010 was of 2 hours duration and had 125 Q's divided into four
sections. It was mentioned in the instructions that the candidates must perform well in all the sections. There
was no negative marking for incorrect answers. Golden moment for those candidates which loves to play with
left questions because they can mark all. The overall difficulty level of the question paper was moderate to
difficult. Actually paper was good, but it was neither easy nor difficult.

English Usage (30 min): The section consisted of 50 questions and was of moderate difficulty level. To start
with we would have started with Para jumbles which were easy and doable. Then we can start with cloze test
which were again doable. Now for vocabulary part they were easy and doable only for those students, those
who have prepared well for or have read books like Norman Lewis. There were 10 Q’s on synonyms and
Antonym. There were again questions on analogies which are again part of vocabulary but you need to be smart
to attend all the questions correctly. A student could have attempted 28 -32 questions in the section. The break-
up of questions is given below. We have given break up for the reference of students. I realized that this section
was focusing more on vocabulary part. If you are good at you would have attended this section in just 15 to 20
odd mins.

a) Synonyms (5 questions): Moderate

b) Antonyms (5 questions): Moderate

c) Analogies (5 questions): Difficult

d) Cloze test (5 questions): Easy

e) Meaning of phrases/idioms (5 questions): Moderate

f) Contextual Vocabulary (5 questions): Moderate

g) Word meanings (5 questions): Moderate

h) Para jumbles (5 questions): Easy

i) Grammatical errors (5 questions): Moderate

f) Choosing the correct phrase (5 questions): Moderate

Reading Comprehension (25 min : 25 Q’s): This section was divided among 3 passages. The section was
easy and most of the questions were direct and factual. Around 20 questions were definitely doable. Even some
of students gave me feedback that the questions were doable and direct but some of them were confusing and
closed ones. So we need to be very cautious while attending those questions. So all in all this section was easy
and one of that section in which we can bang on.

Quantitative Ability (30 Mins : 25 Q’s): This section was quite tough and the question were challenging. They
came out with good questions and the topics which were used to cover most of the questions were Geometry,
Algebra, Functions, and Partnership etc. Even question were long and they were taking time to comprehend. So
we need to strategize and smartly pick those questions first which were easily doable. An attempt of 9-10
questions would be considered good.

Data Sufficiency and Data Interpretation (30 Mins: 25 Q’s): This section was of easy to moderate. It had 15
Q’s on DS and 10 Q’s based on DI. At least 15 Q’s in the section could have been attempted without much
effort. There was set in DI which has 3 diagrams and was somewhat complicated not so. So we can attempt that
set in the last. If we are done with all other ones, then we can try this one. So section was good but not so
difficult. So ideal attempt: 20 Q’s.

Remember this is what we got feedback from various students outside various centers of IBSAT and also
collected through online forums. We do not take responsibility for any decision that might be taken, based on
this information.
