Engineering Manager
Managed department workflow and operations in providing in-house engineering support for a $450
million services company. Developed and reviewed all design concepts and supervised six design
engineers. Scope of work included code driven design calculations; structural, stress, finite element (FEA),
and safety and failure analysis; fitness for service evaluations; and redesign for continuing operation.
Projects included bulk liquid tanks; liquid nitrogen, oxygen, and natural gas (LIN/LOX and LNG) tanks;
floating roofs; refinery equipment; water treatment facilities; and other metal structures.
• Supported project managers from eight regional centers to win contracts / projects by developing
the design aspects of bid packages.
• Provided leadership and direction for 15-20 multiple concurrent projects at any given time.
Managed complete project lifecycle from initial concept through construction.
• Created and made technical presentations and attended sales meetings to address technical issues
to secure new business. Identified and resolved clients’ questions and concerns.
• Proposed innovative solutions and cost saving alternatives to meet clients’ objectives and
expectations and to establish win-win relationships.
• Facilitated smooth execution of projects by attending regular progress meetings with clients and
visiting construction sites. Conceptualized, identified, and resolved field problems quickly and
diplomatically thus saving time and money for both parties.
Engineered and managed projects for clients in commercial and manufacturing industries. Technical
design work included concept development, modification, evaluation, and repair work. Project
management scope encompassed identifying and developing clients, preparing proposals, and managing
projects through to completion.
