Simple Relay Circuit on Breadboard

Shows you how to build a very simple relay circuit.

Building the Circuit:

Step 1: Get the parts and tools ready.

Step 2: Insert the relay on the breadboard. Make sure all the terminal are inserted in the bread board.

Coil is Terminal 1

Other Coil is Terminal 2

Normally Closed (NC) is Terminal 3

Normally open (NO) is Terminal 4

Movable Contact is Terminal 5

Step 3: Next insert the two LED.

The longer part of the LED is the Anode and the shorter part Cathode.

Step 4: Connect the Anode of the first LED to the Terminal 4 (NO). Then the Cathode to the negative rail of the breadboard.

Step 5: Connect the Anode of the second LED to the Terminal 3 (NC). Then the Cathode to the negative rail of the breadboard.

Step 6: Insert the first wire of resistor to the Terminal 5. Then the other wire to the positive rail of the breadboard.

Step 7: Connect the switch positive wire to the Terminal 2 and the switch negative wire to the terminal 1.

Step 8: Connect the Battery Clip to the 9V Battery Supply.

Step 9: Connect the negative terminal to the negative rail of the breadboard. Then the positive to terminal to the positive rail of the
breadboard.

Step 10: One of the LED must lighten. If the switch is On another LED will lighten.
