3 Disassembly
Discharge the flash in ‘service menu’ before the disassembly operation!
The ‘service menu’ can be accessed with the following key combination. Use the Navi Key.

The disassembly is done in the following order:


1. Cover Rear Assy (a) and Battery (b)
2. Co-Brand Label
3. Cover Front Assy
4. Speaker Box Assembly
5. Key Flex Total Assy
6. Cover Rear Metal Assy
7. Vibrator
8. BT Antenna Assy
9. Bracket Plastic Bumper
10. Cap BtB Hole Cover
11. Carrier Xenon Frame Assy

3.1 Cover Rear Assy and


Battery
Push the Latch Key in the direction of the arrow to unlock
the Cover Rear Assy.

Insert the Guitar Pick and slide to release the Cover Rear
Assy.

Disassembly

Raise the Cover Rear Assy at the top and remove it.

Insert finger and raise the bottom of the Battery to release it.

Remove the Battery.

3.2 Co-Brand Label


Carefully insert the dentist hook underneath the Co-Brand
Label and slide the dentist hook back and forth to detach the
Co-Brand Label.

Remove the Co-Brand Label with a pair of tweezers.


Scrap! Not to be reused!

3.3 Cover Front Assy


Remove the two screws by using the torx bit no. 5.

There are several snap hooks securing the Cover Front


Assy.

Use fingers to pull the Cover Front Assy in the direction of


arrows to unsnap the hooks on both sides.

Unsnap the top hook in the direction of arrow.

Push the Carrier Metal Frame in the direction of arrow until it


becomes released.

The Cover Front Assy removed.

3.4 Speaker Box Assembly


Unsnap this hook by using Front Opening Tool.

Turn the Speaker Box Assembly in the direction of the arrow


to release the two hooks as indicated by the pointers and
remove the Speaker Box Assembly.

3.5 Key Flex Total Assy


Insert dentist hook in this corner to detach the Key Flex
Total Assy.

Remove the three screws by using the JCIS No. 0 bit.

Carefully open the Key Flex Total Assy in the direction of


arrow to gain the access to the connector.

Unlock the connector by using the Front Opening Tool.

Remove the Key Flex Total Assy.

3.6 Cover Rear Metal Assy


Remove the five screws by using the JCIS No. 0 bit.

Lift up the Cover Rear Metal Assy from the right and release
the hooks on the left.

3.7 Vibrator
Pull upwards and remove the Vibrator by using tweezers.

3.8 BT Antenna Assy


Insert the Front Opening Tool and pull upwards to remove
the BT Antenna Assy.

3.9 Bracket Plastic Bumper


Release and remove the Bracket Plastic Bumper by using
the dentist hook.
Do not damage the flex cable below the bumper!

3.10 Cap BtB Hole Cover


Use a pair of tweezers to peel the KRH Label in the corner
until the whole Cap BtB Hole Cover can be seen.

Disassembly

Pull upwards and remove the Cap BtB Hole Cover by using
the Front Opening Tool.

3.11 Carrier Xenon Frame


Assy
Disconnect the connector by using the Front Opening Tool.

Push the tab through the hole by using the Front Opening
Tool.

Raise the Carrier Xenon Frame Assy until this side is


released from the metal carrier using the Front Opening
Tool.

Push the tab through the hole by using the Front Opening
Tool until the Carrier Xenon Frame Assy is released from
the metal carrier.
Do not damage the two key domes during the
operation!

Open the Carrier Xenon Frame Assy.

Carefully turn the Carrier Xenon Frame Assy in the direction


of arrow to gain the access to connector.

Disconnect the connector by using the Front Opening Tool.

Remove the Carrier Xenon Frame Assy.

3.12 Camera
Disconnect the connector by using the Front Opening Tool.

Remove the Camera with a pair of tweezers.

3.13 Carrier Metal Frame Assy


Raise the PCBA until it is released from the Carrier Metal
Frame Assy.

Remove the Carrier Metal Frame Assy.

3.14 Display and PCBA


Disconnect the connector by using the Front Opening Tool.

Remove the display.

The Display and the PCBA are separated.

Carry out the replacement as described below.

REMOVAL

Read the old KRH Label and/or write the information into the
‘LabelMake’ program before removal.
Carefully remove the Label by using the tweezers.

INSTALLATION

Check that the proper label format is loaded in the Zebra


printer and write a new Label by using ‘LabelMake’
software.
Put the new KRH Label in place.
Only one label is allowed!

Carry out the replacement as described below.

REMOVAL

Remove the Keyboard by using the tweezers.

INSTALLATION

Place a new Keyboard in accordance with the guiding pegs


and holes by using the tweezers.

Press to secure its position by using the tweezers.

4.18 Camera Key

Carry out the replacement as described below.

REMOVAL

Use the tweezers to push the Camera Key from outside until
the key becomes released.

Remove the Camera Key.

INSTALLATION

Note the orientation of the new Camera Key to be installed.

Remove the Volume Key.

INSTALLATION

Note the orientation of the new Volume Key to be installed.

Place this end of the new Latch Key in its corresponding


pocket.

Push from inside until it is properly installed.

and pull upwards until it is detached.

Peel it off by using the tweezers.

INSTALLATION

Attach a new Light Guide Side according to the hole.

and pull it upwards until it is detached.

Peel it off using the Flex Film Assembly tool.

INSTALLATION

Attach a new Light Guide Front according to the two guiding


holes.

Speaker Box and pull upwards until it is detached.

Peel it off by using the tweezers.

INSTALLATION

Note the orientation of the new Gasket Speaker Box and


attach it in place.

Carry out the replacement as described below.

REMOVAL

Insert the dentist hook underneath the corners of the


Antenna Main Flex and pull upwards to detach it from the
Speaker Box Assy.

Peel it off by using the tweezers.

INSTALLATION

Remove the protection film attached on the antenna pad


before installation!
Note the three guiding holes.

Attach a new Antenna Main Flex according to the three


guiding holes by using the tweezers.

Press with fingers to secure the attachment.

Turn the Speaker Box Assy over.


Press on this corner to secure the attachment.

4.25 Liquid Intrusion Indicator
Follow the 3.1 – 3.4 Disassembly instructions!

INSPECTION
To check whether the Liquid Intrusion Indicator has been
activated (reddish color).

If activated:
Carry out the replacement as described below.
Follow the 5.11 – 5.14 Reassembly instructions!

REMOVAL

Release the activated Liquid Intrusion Indicator by using a


dentist hook.

Remove it by using the tweezers.

INSTALLATION

Attach the new Liquid Intrusion Indicator by using the


tweezers.

Insert a dentist hook in the corner of the Shield Can Lid BB1
and pull upwards to release it.

Peel it off by using the tweezers.

INSTALLATION

Attach a new Shield Can Lid BB1 on top of the shield fence
by using the tweezers.

Remove the Mic by pulling upwards with a pair of tweezers.

INSTALLATION

Note the orientation of the new Mic to be installed.

Insert the Mic in place and press to secure its position.

Peel off the Light Guide Camera.

INSTALLATION

Attach a new Light Guide Camera in place by using the Flex


Film Assembly Tool.

Press to secure the attachment by using the Flex Film


Assembly Tool.

Carry out the replacement as described below.

REMOVAL

Peel off the Foil by using the Flex Film Assembly Tool.

INSTALLATION

REMOVAL

To remove PBA M2 FPC, four places need to be detached


from the Carrier Xenon Frame Assy as shown in picture:
Volume Key domes (1), Vibrator pads (2), Ear Speaker pads
(3) and M2 card holder (4).

Insert the dentist hook underneath (1) and slide it forth and
back until it is released.

Insert the dentist hook underneath (2) and pull it upwards


until it is released.

Insert the dentist hook underneath (3) and pull it upwards


until it is released.

Insert the dentist hook underneath (4) and pull it upwards


until it is released.
Take care not to damage the Carrier Xenon Frame Assy!

Remove the PBA M2 FPC.

INSTALLATION

There are seven guiding indicators on the PBA M2 FPC


need to be aligned when being installed.

press to secure the attachment by using the Flex Film
Assembly Tool.

Attach (1) in place according to the guiding indicators and


press to secure the attachment by using the Flex Film
Assembly Tool.

Insert the Front Opening Tool underneath the tab of the Ear
Speaker and pull upwards to release it from cavity.

Remove it with a pair of tweezers.

Note the orientation of the new Ear Speaker and place it in


position with a pair of tweezers.

Insert the dentist hook into the corners of the Shield Can Lid
BB2 and pull upwards to release it.

Remove it with a pair of tweezers.


Scrap! Not to be reused!

INSTALLATION

Place the new Shield Can Lid BB2 on top of the shield fence
and press gently until it is securely attached.

5.1 Display and PCBA


Before reassembly, make sure the Tape Light Sensor is in
position.

Put the PCBA on top of the Display.

5.2 Carrier Metal Frame Assy


Place the PCBA on the Carrier Metal Frame Assy.

Press the PCBA and Display to secure its position.

5.3 Camera
Place the Camera on the Carrier Metal Frame Assy in its
proper position using a pair of tweezers.

5.5 Cap BtB Hole Cover

press to secure its position using a pair of tweezers.

Press the KRH Label in this corner to secure the

5.6 Bracket Plastic Bumper


Place the Bracket Plastic Bumper in cavity on the Carrier
Xenon Frame Assy and press to secure its position using a
pair of tweezers.

5.7 BT Antenna Assy


Note the orientation of the BT Antenna Assy!

Insert the BT Antenna Assy and press to secure its position


using a pair of tweezers.

5.8 Vibrator
Place the Vibrator in the cavity on the Carrier Xenon Frame
Assy and press to secure its position using a pair of
tweezers.

5.9 Cover Rear Metal Assy


Hold the Cover Rear Metal Assy and hook it to the two holes
on the Carrier Metal Frame Assy.

Turn the Cover Rear Metal Assy in the direction of arrow to


its horizontal position.

Apply 10 Ncm torque when tightening the five new screws


(3.5x1.2) with the JCIS No. 0 bit.

5.10 Key Flex Total Assy


Hold the Key Flex Total Assy and insert the FPC into the
connector.

Lock the connector by pressing down the locking bar using


Flex Film Assembly Tool.

Turn the Key Flex Total Assy in the direction of arrow to its
horizontal position.

Apply 10 Ncm torque when tightening the three new screws


(3.5x1.2) with the JCIS No. 0 bit.

5.11 Speaker Box Assembly


Hold the Speaker Box Assembly like this.

Hook this end of the Speaker Box Assembly to the PCBA.

until the three hooks snap to the PCBA as shown from the
other side.

5.12 Cover Front Assy


Make sure the Latch Key is in unlocking position!
Insert the upper part of the phone under the hook on the
Cover Front Assy as indicated by the pointer.

Press down the back of the phone.

There are eight pins on Cover Front Assy securing the


Display.

Squeeze in both sides to secure the eight pins

until there is no gap around Display.

Press on both sides of the Cover Front Assy until there is no


gap around.

Apply 12 Ncm torque when tightening the two new screws


(torx 5.0x1.6) with the torx bit no. 5.

5.13 Co-Brand Label


Place a new Co-Brand Label in cavity using a pair of
tweezers.
The Co-Brand Label can not be reused! Use a new one!

Press to secure the attachment.

5.14 Battery and Cover Rear


Assy
Clean the battery connector by using the ESD brush
before installing the Battery.
Insert the Battery at the top.

Press to secure its position.

Place the Cover Rear Assy on the phone.

Press around the Cover Rear Assy to make sure all snap
hooks are secured.

Push the Latch Key in the direction of the arrow to lock the
Cover Rear Assy.
