to play in UCD. I think I will practice more in the University of Manchester. In my spare time, I motivations for it over the next years.
usually watch some movies, listen to music or do some cooking. I love cooking but am not good at it. If I am quite upset,
disturbed or angry with something, I will cook for all the staff that I have. At present, cooking has been an efficient way for
me to release my emotions. In my mind, since last September, the most obvious difference comparing to my previous
university life, except thinking in English, speaking in English and dreaming in English, is the dependence on computers. The
bar culture is so popular in Dublin but I do not like it. So computers became my main entertainment. During holiday, I would
like to travel to other countries. In each trip, I prefer to act like a different person enjoying some particular experience. I also
like performance. If there is any drama performance or such kind of thing, I would like to take part in it.
Postgraduate study is a huge project and may be boring. Therefore, I want to make it colourful and meaningful. I will make as
many friends as I can both in the same area or different majors. More friends from different fields can bring out new ideas or
sparks and inspire our daily life. I’ve got high expectations on studying in the University of Manchester and look forward to
meeting you, guys!

I am a trained lawyer having read law at universities in Durham, Fribourg and Bruges, and having been called is the Bar in
2006.

Before commencing practice I worked in London as a political assistant for and MEP and member of the house of Lords, and
also as a lecturer in constitutional law.

I enjoy my practice as a barrister here in Manchester but have a real interest in banking reform and economics which is not
quite quenched by the work I do—and hence my reasons for embarking on a PT PhD.

I like travel, foreign languages and general outdoor sports and activities.

My aspiration—I want to be in the generation which sees the banking sector being properly reformed to meet the needs of our
society and future!
